I am a former Muslim, who became Prot, then attended Eastern Orth, and am now baptised as a Catholic. I think the schism between Catholic and Eastern Orthodox is very sad. I agree with Catholicism, and have my issues with Michael I and Eastern Orthodoxy, but I don't harbour any ill feelings towards them and see them as we are supposed to; as our separated brethren. I've asked EOC folks and some seems to have the sort of Anti-Catholic rhetoric Protestants have. I understand the church will be attacked, that's what Christ told us, but I wanted to ask, do you support reunification? How do you view it? Do you even think about it?

We have 3 kids (10,3 and almost 2). I’m currently pregnant with twins. Which transition was the trickiest for your family (0-1, 1-2, etc). I personally haven’t had any huge struggles with adding more kids. I do fear adding two premies, but I’m honestly quite excited and optimistic.

I am aspiring to get into mid-top tier US university for Graduate Studies in soft sciences (Sociology/ Political Science). Does getting a good score in GRE enhance my chances to get in?
I know it's not the sole determinant, and that's not my question. I only want to know the extent to which it will improve my chances, based on that I want to assess whether it is worth giving a shot or try other things to improve my application.
Secondly, if it does improve the application, what is a good (ambitious) score to aim at?

2025.01.19 20:39 captainblackbeardy My neurologist acknowledged Minoxidil side effects
I took oral minoxidil for 3 months at 2.5mg and occasionally 5mg per day. After traveling overseas for work and getting severe food poisoning and either COVID or Flu, I started experiencing many of the side effects seen on this sub including finger twitching on one side in two fingers, depression, anxiety, buzzing in both legs and feet, and trouble sleeping. I stopped taking them 3 weeks ago after finding this sub just in case and saw a neurologist last week, who is one of the top movement disorder specialists in my country. He did a full exam including a look at all of my labs and a brain MRI from 6 months ago, and saw nothing that could explain the twitching other the medication. He acknowledged the twitching connection to minoxidil at that point. According to his reading a small percentage of minoxidil users reported face twitching and leg edema which could explain the buzzing. He attributed the other symptoms to anxiety from the twitching, which started first so that makes sense. He said the twitching connection isn’t well studied, but was confident that it wasn’t anything scary. I’m still a bit concerned because I have quite a few Parkinson’s biomarkers/comorbidities. I’m hoping the twitching subsides and I can move past this neurology scare. Just wanted to give folks here some hope, and thought it important to share that an esteemed neurologist justified our concerns. Just found the G man through his YT channel and stumbled across Divorced dads. And I have to say I love it all from the art work to the nuanced theme of the Divorced Dad life style. I never been into card games or collection, but something about what Mr. G is doing here is appealing to me and I feel that this could pick up in steam and popularity if he continues what he is doing as of now. And I feel that the value of these cards will increase if so. Would anybody agree with my opinion?

I'm researching the best way to insulate our attic in the northeastern US, with snowy winters and hot/humid summers.
Here's what I know:
- We have a hip roof with cobra ridge vents and a solar powered exhaust vent at the top.
- The attic is basically a crawl space – maybe 4 feet high.
- There's a heat pump air handler in the attic, which is in a sort of makeshift insulated wooden "box", but I don't think it's very effective (the box essentially only has 3 sides, so that you can access the unit.
- Insulate the ceiling, i.e. with spray foam, which could potentially make the heat pump a lot more efficient as it's operating in a conditioned space. However, I'm concerned about moisture and humidity: we would be covering up all of the vents with spray foam, I suppose, and would need to find a way to dehumidify the attic? Or rework the air handler so that it partially conditions the attic as well? I'm not sure
- Forget spray foam and just insulate the floor with cellulose or fiberglass batts. Here, I'm concerned that the air handler would perform poorly, but the advantage is we wouldn't have to worry about moisture issues.

 | Reposting because I couldn’t figure out how to add pics to my original post. To recap my original post: I bought two vintage rugs from a vendor on Facebook marketplace. Seller seems honest and says they are wool. Had them both for two weeks without issue, until yesterday. I vacuumed both rugs and added a rug pads, now the one rug (pictured) has a horrible stench like rotten eggs. It has made the entire house smell. I sprinkled an entire box of baking soda on it, waited a few hours and vacuumed. Have not noticed a difference. Addressing comments on the previous post for process of eliminating the cause of the odor. The other rug I purchased has no odor and the rug pad on both do not smell.
