2025.01.19 20:45 mikesmith929 Remotely Connecting to a Desktop Environment How To
I've been looking for a solution to connecting remotely to my Fedora KDE machine for a while now. I've tried VNC and it was slow and laggy and tried KRDP but it doesn't work.
What do you folks use to remotely connect and view your desktop? Is this just not a Linux thing?
I'm at a bit of a loss why KVMs like the piKVM are so popular, as why not just ssh to the headless server without a DE, yet graphically connecting to a DE seems like a foreign concept to most users.
Even when using VNC or KRDP when I can magically get them to work, they literally will just unlock the remote machine and just mirror commands, not the best solution.
Ideally simply opening a virtual desktop and streaming it out would be best, like what RDP does in Windows. Without unlocking the remote machine.
Anyhow am I the only person who remotely connects to a DE? Or what am I doing wrong?

Hey, I'm making a game centered around a crew of professional criminals robbing various location. I decided one of them should be a formula race track with money in a secret underground vault. I got the idea for the setting from Hitman but I want to make it as different from it as possible. I find designing the race track easy but the surrounding area, not so much. Hey all,
My ability keybinds (1, 2, 3, 4 etc) are stuck on controller settings. When I go to settings there are no options to change or reset my keybinds. On my friends interface he has the options to reset all keybinds and change his keybinds under settings but my final settings option is "receive trade requests". Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've just had a rewire and new kitchen fitted and completely forgot to ask the spark to install downlights in my glass fronted cabinets. I do however have access to a double socket above the cabinets and have a DIY minded brain. My plan is to drill out the top of the cabinets with a hole saw to fit the downlights. If I buy 3 downlights, wire them in parallel with the appropriate size flex, can I simply wire a plug to them (I assume 3amp fuse) to safely power them? Just want to check I'm not missing something. 2025.01.19 20:45 Senladar How do you compete against aim assist as a pc player?
I’m not a 16 hours a day streamer, I don’t have perfect mouse accuracy. I’d say I’m mid tier overall, not terrible, not amazing.
It’s always easy to tell when I face a console player because THEY LAND LITERALLY EVERY SHOT. How do you counter this aside from just playing on console? It’s obvious that its aim assist most of the time because they are just spraying and landing most shots. In fact, it seems like at long range it’s even worse. If I just hold down the button and aim at a target as best I can I’ll land maybe 2/30.
I’ve played on my ps5 and can see the insane difference but I don’t really enjoy playing with controller.
Am I missing something? Is there some trick to countering someone spray and pray landing every shot while you’re in a boosting car flipping through the air? 🤷♀️

So , I was with my friend at one of the ghats in Banaras and as we were walking , there was some Chhapri reelmaker guy was there with his friend , doing backflips and recording reactions .
He did the same with us and his friend was recording , but in the spur of the movement , we didn't really say anything to him and just went on our way . But it hit me sometime later that he might upload it on instagram .
I am really panicking about this , I don't like the whole insta nonsense . And I understand that it was our fault that we didn't say anything to him there , but we were just kind of shocked and didn't react .
I am really very anxious about this , more so than being angry , I am not a very social person on insta , I haven't posted ever , and the thought of being on a stupid reel is just really agitating me !
