Hello,
Hoping to get some insights on Garfield NJ. My wife and I are looking at some of the properties in the area around Garfield High School/Garfield Public Preschool.
Can anyone help share any insights on the safety of the area? What's the nightlife like? Any good food/restaurant recommendations? How is the diversity? We are an Asian couple; is there an Asian community? Is this a good place to raise a family?
Also, I read that the schools in Garfield are OK, but not the best but the kids have an opportunity to apply for a Bergen academy. How competitive is it?

Hi, I have nothing to sell, I just wanted to ask a question to a community who is passionate about journaling.
So I wanted to make an AI journaling app but I’ve realised the idea is way too similar to mindsera.
Now, I’m exploring a different idea regarding video journaling. An app that records your daily videos, analyses your tone and words, and gives you suggestions.
Haven’t figured out the feature set but just curious. I’m also assuming that people who are camera shy could also use this as a way to get ahead of it and sometimes I’ve realised that while talking to myself out loud I understand how stupid my logic or words are, which in a lot of cases is a relief, whenever I write I do try to articulate better than when I speak. What do you think?

This is gonna be short but SO AWKWARD I still feel like blushing when I think about it🙈
This happened in December I’m at a retail store trying on some perfumes bc I’m a perfume addict. There are a lot of people I guess buying Christmas presents.
An old lady randomly approaches me and ask if I can give her an opinion on a male colongne she is holding.
My introverted self doesn’t wanna get involved but she was nice so I said: sure .
Girl … when I got close to the cologne she was holding for me to smell …. My impulsive self thought at loud and said :
-Ugh thats disgusting don’t get that, that smells like cigarette [insert vomit sound expression bc idk how to spell that in English]
She looked at me very humbly said: -No that’s me .
😱😱😱
I didn’t know where to look and I couldn’t pretend I don’t speak English like I normally would bc we interacted… it was the longest 5 seconds of my life
She then said : -Hey it could be worse it could’ve been weed lol
I thankfully thought of something funny and mimicked being high and said: -Oh in that case definitely take all of it 😮💨
She died laughing , I slowly escaped and told my friends, who obviously made fun of me bc somehow I get stuck in these situations a lottt
THIS IS WHY some of us stay introverted 😂😂😂

Hi all. I’m just getting into flutter dev, and after looking at various state management packages, scoped model stands out as both most intuitive (to me personally) and also the right level of complexity for my personal project.
My concern is that when I look up resources for it, most of the tutorials, articles, etc. covering its use are 4-5 years old.
Would this because it’s ‘dead’, or is it something that’s very solid and hasn’t changed much in those years?

Basically the title. I have an interview next month for LMU-DCOM and have been looking through reddit/sdn to get a feel for the interview from DCOM. The general census is that it’s a fairly laid back 1:1 interview. However, I have come across a few posts that suggest LMU-DCOM has a 93% post interview acceptance rate (including those who get accepted off the waitlist), but this just sounds too good to be true to me. Is it true or is this number inflated somehow? Obviously an interview invite shouldn’t be enough to get my hopes up, but 93% is still promising if it’s true/accurate. Has anyone heard of post interview rejections? Also any interview advice for LMU-DCOM would be greatly appreciated!

2025.01.20 03:00 batboo24 Realized my parents didn't want me
I was born really close to my sibling in age, they had a lot of anger issues as a kid so my parents coddled and doted on them. I was labeled an instigator and liar as an infant because I used to cry every time my sibling would come up to me or walk past.
I've noticed there's less photos of me hung up, my mother always forgets my preferences and gets what my sibling would prefer thinking it's what I like. They financially helped my sibling through college but laughed at me when I asked for a fraction to help with my apprenticeship. My mother takes my sibling out for one on one time, day trips out of town, shopping sprees etc and they always mention I can come next time.
My mom was talking about how she found out she was pregnant with me and she mentioned how mad at my dad she was and the sacrifice they made to have me. I could sense how heavy the subject felt, almost like I was supposed to thank her.
I wish I could tell her I wish they hadn't made that sacrifice. Maybe if they killed me and had focused on my sibling they wouldn't of beat me up my whole childhood. I wouldn't of ended up in the ER with internal breeding at 8 because I was brushing my teeth and my sibling wanted the spot I was in. Maybe they wouldn't of shoved me in front of a moving truck in Highschool cause my music was too loud or hit me every time they died during a videogame. Made me piss blood from kneeing me so hard in the groin. Maybe they all could've been financially stable and emotionally available for my sibling to get them the help they needed as a kid.
I've subconciously sought out bullies and apathetic people my whole existence cause of the neglect I delt with from my parents. My sibling punched me in the jaw twice at the dentist when I was maybe 5 and when I told my mom all I got was a "get over it, what'd you do to cause it, you need to learn to hit back."
So now my sibling is healing and in therapy and doesn't have nearly as hard of a time managing their interpersonal relationships and I've never felt more broken. I'm mad they all think I'm this self sufficient smart put together person like it was a fucking choice. I keep making stupid choices with the people I let into my life and I genuinely think I have 1 real friend out of the small circle I thought cared about me.

I’m returning to the game after several years off and was working on increasing my entrati standings.
So I start grinding out bounties for about 3 hours just having a fun with a group of randoms.
Picking up lots of new mods and gear
So I finish up and to to mother to see where my standing is at and it’s at 0. I have all the materials needed to level up but my standing is zero.
So I got to YouTube and find a video that the best way to increase your standing is to turn in tokens to grandmother. Nowhere in the game does it clearly show you how to increase your standing.
