Well, DBW is finally here.
I'll be honest with you, yesterday when I posted Big Fun I said that I wasn't sure if that rewrite was my favorite, and that I was much more satisfied with how the final version of DBW turned out.
I don't know if it was the huge reception that Big Fun ended up getting, or the fact that someone even asked me if I could upload this song yesterday as well, that I panicked and suddenly stopped feeling so confident with the lyrics I had, lol (It's not their fault, it's clearly mine, I'm generally a pretty indecisive person).
Look, I've made a lot of progress on the future songs these past few days. Right now I'm finishing editing Never Shut Up Again. I've got the lyrics done, and I'm thinking about whether to leave it as is and move on to Our Love is God, or keep editing it, because that's one of my favorite songs from the musical and I want to do it justice; I need to do it justice, lol. The point is that since I have enough songs to be able to upload without any problem if I run out of time for the next one, maybe if you guys want I can upload two songs today. Dead Boy Walking now and The Me Inside of Me in the afternoon? Maybe I'll do that.
Anyway, I'll leave the song here. You'll see that it has a couple of notes inside that I marked in red. I was going to explain all that here and leave the song document clean, but meh, I'll leave it in the corresponding verses so it's easier to understand what I'm talking about.
I hope you enjoy this version. Despite the changes in the marked parts (which is what I was correcting yesterday) I think the final result was decent at least. I hope so, because I saw that several of you were intrigued by this one, so I hope I don't disappoint you ;u;

Oh! By the way. I finished my version of Blue yesterday, and let me tell you, I never had such a blast writing a rewrite as I did with that one. I'm sure you'll love the result. I wanted to go for something different so that the general reaction is fun like that song is the first time you hear it in the musical. I'm sure you'll love that one.

Watching is supposed to be fun but last night's episode was disgusting and vile. Adnan provoking an autistic man who was trying his best to contain his emotions, Adnan yelling and inserting himself into everything but saying nothing, Tigerlily saying gross things about Niles and Vanja, The ridiculous, drawn out religion discussion.
But the absolute worst was everyone piling on Ingrid and shaming her for not wanting to have sex with Brian and claiming she was a tease. And then Brian basically calling her a slut for having two different fathers for her kids. TLC letting that happen and airing it was nasty work on their part. Ingrid was classy and kept her composure but it was sick to watch.
There is a difference between "love to hate" and just "hate". I think this is a fun, love to hate watch for most of us but last night had no entertainment value to it whatsoever. It was dark and TLC are scumbags if they dont get rid of Adnan and Tigerlily.

I've been going down a rabbit hole trying to understand YouTube's "Publish to subscriptions feed and notify subscribers" checkbox, and I need your help to either validate my findings or point out what I'm missing.
I've seen countless YouTube videos and Reddit threads about this checkbox that appears in the details tab when uploading a video. It states what it does pretty clearly but "YouTube gurus" have made HUGE claims about it affecting impressions and algorithmic reach. My experience suggests otherwise, but I wanna get to the bottom of this.
The "gurus" claim:
- You should only check the box for videos "relevant" to subscribers
- Checking it for "irrelevant" content leads to low CTR
- Low CTR signals the algorithm to limit reach
- Unchecking it for certain videos can actually help growth
This "strategy" only makes sense if unchecking the box affects video visibility on subscribers' homepages. But according to YouTube's help center, unchecking only means:
Subscribers won't get notifications or see your upload in their Subscription feed. On the "Bell notifications sent" card in YouTube Analytics, you'll see 0% bell notifications sent.Nowhere does it mention affecting homepage visibility.
What I think is actually true:
Based on research and experience, here's what the checkbox ACTUALLY does:
When checked:
- Video appears in subscribers' Subscription feed tab
- Bell notification subscribers get notified
- Video doesn't appear in Subscription feed
- No bell notifications are sent
- Homepage algorithm recommendations
- Search rankings
- Suggested videos sidebar
- Overall reach or "algorithmic promotion"
Has anyone found concrete evidence that this checkbox affects anything beyond notifications and subscription feed visibility? Am I missing something obvious here?
Can we please try to get to the bottom of this and stop the spread of misinformation in the community. Thanks!
