2025.01.20 14:51 lifessofun It's Inauguration Day and it's ok if you're angry.
Over the years I've heard my fair share of, "don't take it so personally" and even "facts don't care about feelings." But if people can storm the capitol and attempt an insurrection then I can be enraged by what's to come.
I am scared for all women. And, given how 2016 to 2020 (and 2022) went, it's fair to assume that things will get worse.
Please take this time, these next 4 years, and beyond to put in the work if you're able to. Vote locally, volunteer, support your communities, educate yourself, be vocal.
This isn't singularly on one person's shoulders and sometimes putting in the work could just be as simple as having thoughtful conversations or being there for someone.
Remember to support one another and offer each other grace but, above all, remember to take care of yourself.

Not too much more to say, really. I work long hours as a nurse, which takes up most of my days, but when I am off I would like to have people to talk/text with. My coworkers are all too busy with their lives and the few non work related friends I had moved away. So now I am going to the internet!
A few interesting of mine. I like to listen to audiobooks, go for walks on trials or hiking, and play the occasional video game but don't have a lot of time for them.

For context, I’ve been going through a lot of health anxiety recently. I had a period where I was experiencing some of the worst anxiety of my life based on some health news I received. Since then, I’ve calmed myself a little. I had to wait around a month for my next specialist appointment. The appointment was today. I reminded my boyfriend multiple times that I was going today (this is where I would find out what the next steps were). I had this today, and my boyfriend has just forgotten about it. Not even a text to ask how it went. And it’s now nearly 2am as he’s stayed late after work to have drinks with his coworkers. I called to see if he was okay and he sounded drunk.
I feel like this is the last straw of him showing that he doesn’t really care enough. Is this just a boy thing that I have to learn to get used to? Should I just take this as a sign that he’s never going to get better. I know no one will ever love me as much as my mother, but she’s texting me on my way to the appointment. Calling me immediately after. And I just feel forgotten by my partner I guess.
Anyway, AITA for wanting to break up with him over this? He’s obviously just forgotten?
I feel like I’m just purposely not telling him what happened now and seeing if he ever thinks to ask. Is that manipulative?

Got my bilateral bisalp done about a year ago, and after missing a period (getting bloodwork and imaging done tomorrow), I searched through my notes and found this pathology report:
FINAL DIAGNOSIS A. Bilateral fallopian tubes, resection: -Complete cross-sections of bilateral fallopian tubes
Gross Description A. FALLOPIAN TUBE RESECTION LEFT AND RIGHT Received in formalin labeled "bilateral fallopian tubes" are unoriented bilateral fallopian tubes measuring 5.0 and 4.3 cm in length by 0.4 cm in diameter. The longer fallopian tube exhibits a normal villous fimbriated end. The shorter fallopian tube does not exhibit a fimbriated end. Sectioning reveals a pinpoint lumen and unremarkable cut surfaces. Representative sections are submitted as follows: A1 longer fallopian tube with entire fimbriated end, A2 shorter fallopian tube.
Does anyone know if this is normal? Google says fallopian tubes are typically doubled im length than what mine seem to be, plus one was missing a fimbriated end, which I thought was odd. I’m super freaked out I’ll be in the small percentage where it failed; I know most documented failures come from surgeries that were incorrectly done. Any thoughts?
