What I want are fics where, the UA bring new teachers, could be OC or crossover, or even canonical character, that actually help the students to grow. Like pointing out problems with the students, like Bakugo and Midoriya relationship, todoroki mentality previous sports festival, Ida revenge mentality, their quirks, their strengths and weakness and try to help with that, not necessarily everything.
Also the fic would criticize the methods utilized by Aizawa, All Might, and call out the teachers behavior.
Because Aizawa and the teachers in general in UA, doesn't help students, besides their quirks, with students like Kaminari and Hagakure, doesn't know to fight without their quirks, and doesn't know how to fight at all alone, or students like Momo, that limit their quirks to simple constructions, with her begin able to make thing like charged batteries and microsjips, like the one she implanted in the nomu, so something like tasers wouldn't be outside her capacity of making.
So it would be good of the new teacher would Teach close combat, also propose that students have other means of combat other than their quirks, it doesn't mean that all of them have to carry guns, also that he would help them with problems that normal students and help them break their mentality that only heroes are on the right and that villains are bad, that happened early on the manga, in teach about the sacrifices that has to make or talk about things like killing if necessary.

I'm in the PSLF program for a few of my student loans, two of which were forgiven back in July 2024. Turns out I overpaid them both by at least 4 payments. I do have other outstanding federal loans under PSLF.
studentaid.gov says "overpayments will be first applied to any other outstanding federal student loans you have or be refunded to you". Does anyone know the process for apply the overpayment to other loans? Does this just happen automatically? Thanks!

I’m the proud owner of a Gretsch 6199 Billy Bo Bass. It’s very pretty and well made, but it’s got some strange tone “quirks” that take a lot of knob-fiddlin’ to get around and, more importantly, it’s a short scale. I sing lead while I play a lot more than I used to these days and my #1 is a standard P Bass, so it’s pretty difficult to switch to my Gretsch for a gig - I spend the entire time staring at my hands.
I’ve never owned a Rickenbacker, but I’ve always wanted one. From what I think I know about them, though, is that their tone is very high-mid focused and punchy which, if I’m being honest, I fuckin hate. I like very warm, thumpy dark tone - which is why me and my P bass get along so well. I can roll the volume way off, roll my tone back, and thump around to my hearts content.
So! Finally, here’s the question: would it be crazy to try and trade my Gretsch straight across for a vintage Ric? They’re pretty comparable value-wise, at least according to what people are asking for these 6199s online. They don’t sell a lot so it’s hard to say what they’re actually going for.
Ric owners: what’s your input on the tone and playability vs a standard P bass?

I met a advocate today. I explained him my case then he said give me the file and I will read it then let you know . I will charge for reading the case then I heard him saying 1k ,then I said ok .
I gave him the file and while leaving ,he asked me to send 5k now then 5k later . I told him you said 1k then the shock came - he actually told 10k to read the case and I heard him wrong . Both brain and body froze .
I told him that I am running with cash crunch and asked to return the file . He politely returned the file .
I have spoke with quite number of lawyers .Never heard someone charging for reading the case file.
Is this normal thing ?

As the title suggests, I’m trying to write my own take on werewolves but and struggling where to take it. I started this with writing an idea for vampires, making them a parasite that resides in the throat and form something akin to a symbiotic relationship with the host through altering their anatomy in beneficial ways—I’d be happy to elaborate more if someone is curious. Anyway, this direction has put me in a sticky situation with the werewolves. I’m now finding it difficult to figure out how to write them without rehashing the parasite concept, while also maintaining the somewhat more grounded anti-curse/magic approach.
One idea I had is that the werewolves were an ancient predator of the Vamparasites but found it difficult to pursue their prey once they started targeting human hosts, as they weren’t just picking off animals from a herd anymore and instead had to deal with the repercussions of mauling what other humans perceived to be one of their own. So this forced them to evolve down a path that allowed them to mimic specific humans if the werewolf in question has had prolonged exposure to this person, preforming an almost insect like metamorphosis where they shed their old skin and come out looking like a mostly accurate copy of their target, aside from small differences that drive home an effect of uncanny valley. And any time the werewolf wanted to switch between forms, they would have to undergo this painful and gruesome metamorphosis.
Another idea I had is actually making the “Curse” a type of hyper-cancer so to speak. This one is the least developed of the ideas so you’ll have to forgive that. Anyway, the victim of this illness will have their body change, with the keratin of their fingernails growing back jagged and sharp, large clumps of hair growing in parts of their body it shouldn’t be, as the tissue of the jaw developing a large underbite that resembles a snout. This painful process also causes their bodies to have effects such as additional strength, healing, and speed due to the accelerated cell division. But obviously it’s slowly killing them, and the only way they can control these symptoms is by consuming one of the Vamparasites and allowing their bodies to process the same chemical that alters the bodies of the Vampire hosts, temporally reverting the condition of the werewolf. This causes the mutated flesh to slough off and heal back to its original state rather quickly due to the accelerated cell division being controlled by the Vamparasite chemicals
As I said, these ideas aren’t fully developed and I’m not even sure if I want them to be the final product. However I am struggling to find what direction I want to take this and would very much appreciate some input. Thank you for your time ^

I write to you because since a year, I have worked hard on a personal backgammon project, called blunderDB: to develop a program to build personal backgammon position database. Before, I tried to categorize some XG positions in folders, but I was not satisfied: I often didn't know where to put some positions, which tackled multiple themes at the same time. Once the categories are made, it is difficult to rearrange them and a lot of concepts are closely linked together in backgammon (structure, pip race, cube position, score, ...).
I hope this little backgammon software (free, 5Mo, without installation, Windows and Linux) will make more easy, to find patterns in backgammon positions, and to build and share reference position catalogs.

Our internet has been down for a couple days but my wife and I usually play on a dedicated server hosted on our LAN. I assumed that we'd still be able to play without an Internet connection.
The dedicated server will not go online without phoning home.
It doesn't seem that you can host a game without an Internet connection either.
I am super bummed.
