So, I recently watched a Clint’s Reptiles video where he reviewed Hawaiian Volcano Shrimps. It really sold me when he talked about how easy they are to maintain. I also realized, hey, they’re brackish. And horned nerites, my 2nd favorite aquatic snails, only breed in brackish.
I did more research though, and from what I’m reading, you can’t have very many nerites together in an aquarium due to them exclusively eating film algae. I also read usually to guarantee at least one female, you need to get a group of 6.
So, my questions are, what size tank would I need for these shrimp, and a breeding group of snails. And if I had the shrimp, would they just try to eat nerite snail eggs making the idea null and void anyways? And how true is it that Nerites only eat algae, and refuse prepared food and blanched greens?

2025.01.20 16:03 Cerulle28 Question about BL books covering one "story" vs multiple
Im currently reading First and Only and I saw that the first 3 books in the GG catalogue are one overarching story to follow, unlike Eisenhorn that follows different storylines with the same cast of characters. I prefer to read all the way through a single story if thats how the series was written (Gaunts Omnibus), and read a single book in a series that has a start and finish (Talon of Horus) then jump back in to the series eventually (Black Legion).
The question is if the Night Lords Omnibus, Twice Dead King, and Ragnar Blackmane series are single storylines or split.
I wanna read em all but want to know if I can hop around without breaking the story arc if it crosses multiple books.

We'd like to build a rope gym of some sort for our 7 month olds. Any suggestions? Anyone ever do this? We're thinking of:
- thick natural rope 1.5/2"
- perhaps braiding it
- Getting them used to climbing on it at lower heights
- Hanging it from a beam
- Creating a whole web with areas they can hang out on
Any advice or suggestions is appreciated. Including: don't do this, it's a very bad idea :)

I have been working for 3 years since graduating, and while my job is decent it's not quite what I want but I'm not sure where else to look.
My job is engineering, procurement, and construction for oil and gas companies. That being said the "engineering" step is pretty minimal, just load calculations or arc flash levels we get from entering nameplate data into a software. We figure out what equipment to order then I make single lines and wiring diagrams which get sent to the electrical contractor to install.
Compared to most jobs I feel like it's a cool job, and I've learned so many interesting things, but I think what I'm missing is there's no real opportunity to think outside the box or anything, most projects are very similar so it's just a matter of doing the design right and on time. There's no real logical thinking and problem solving required, apart from just logistical things and maybe some construction details like spacing of equipment.
I've never really felt excited to come into work, that being said it's a nice group of people and the work doesn't bore me to death, it's just not something I feel excited about or gives me a sense of identity. I'm conflicted because I know I'm in a better situation than a lot of people, just having a well paying job that isn't torture is a good place to be, but I also wish I could do something I was more excited about. I'm not sure if I should try and change my job entirely or just keep on my current path and hope it will be more exciting when I move to other consulting firms that work on larger more complex projects.
To add some context, I always really liked coding, and have taken CS50 and CS50 Web Dev, and made my own website, but trying to move into a coding role feels like a huge leap and I'm not sure if I would enjoy doing it full time. I wanted to go into computer science for university but at the time I heard so much about off shoring so I didn't feel it would be a stable career. But in university my favorite courses were always coding and embedded systems. It's just scary to leave a well paying stable career path to try something else that I'm not sure I would be succesful at.
