2025.01.20 18:44 TheAlmightyHellacia I rewatched Initial D; and its usage of eurobeat is amazing
I got bored and decided to re-watch Initial D, and holy crap what a soundtrack. As someone who took the genre for granted, after listening to thousands of songs, I really stepped back and just thought "damn, this really was the right music for this anime", main reason of it being the popular music in Japan at the time, and combining it with its slice of life aspects as well as its racing aspects, and it's almost used perfectly; songs like Maybe Tonite being used for just casual night drives, or Ever And Ever being used for some of the most emotional moments. Hell when Deja Vu began playing during its scene, the build up in the intro felt epic during the final push of the legendary AE86 vs AE86 turbo race; it's almost like Dave wrote the song for that moment in particular.
My feelings about the show itself still hold up, 1-3 being great and then dropping off in quality at 4, but that's besides the point, this was me rediscovering the magic that was this show, and how I came to love this genre

Context: May business si Ex, stable naman, may worker sya mga kapatid nya. And yung anak ko kayang kaya nya sagutin. While me I was a previous Agent ng bpos, supported her nung walang wala pa sya. We both worked for couple of years until nag decide sya mag business (4 years ago), wala kaming papel, since hndi kami kasal. Sya nakaipon, ako wala. Since tumulong lang ako sa kanya. The rest ng papers, BIR, DTI, etc. nakapangalan lahat sa kanya. 0 naipundar ko kasi I gave my all. This time pinaalis nya ko kasi gusto nya daw mag focus sa kanilang mag kakapatid. Wala na silang magulang. Sya ang panganay. Balak nya palakahin anak ng kapatid nya. Anak namin, pati ung kapatid nilang 3 years old (Namatay mama nya nung pinanganak itong bunso nilang kapatid). Yung tatay naman nila namatay nung sobrang bata pa nila. - Sa akin naman, gusto ko sanang tumulong sa kanya. Pero palagi nyang sinasabi na lahat ng gagawin nya para sa kapatid nya. In the end ako na walang work. Na sumoporta sa kanya, til the end. Eto, basura. Tinapon nalang. Wala kasi akong pera. Ngayon binigyan nya ako ng 30k para daw mag simula para sa sarili ko. Ang sakit. Sobra. (Lalaki ako).
This time plano ko sanang lumayo talaga. Gusto kong mapagisa. With minimal budget gusto ko nalng pumunta ng visayas. Dun ako mag simula sa sarili ko. Nakakabaliw. Di ko alam kung kaya ko mag simula mag isa lalo na sa tagal ng pinagsamahan namin lalo na pati anak ko. Kung lilipat sana ako ng Visayas, saan ba pwede, yung may BPOs din sana na kakasya etong budget ko (hindi ako maluho, 100 lang kasya na sakin sa isang araw). Tyia. 🥺

Early last year, my company onboarded a new engineer. After only 6 months, they decided to part ways with the reason being he had a terrible attitude and was very uncompromising I worked with him on a project and found him to be very rigid and he did not take feedback well, at all. He was the type of guy that was completely incapable of accepting any improvements to his work, so it was no surprise they let him go
After the news hit, I was talking with my manager and they told me that, while they were investigating him for the complaints, they found out he was OE and that made the decision to let him go much easier
I decided to google his name and I found him on the current employees page on another company's site (same picture and everything!). He put basically zero energy into hiding he was OE (most likely out of arrogance based on what I know of his personality)
He still works at the other J to this day, but now his and name is blanked out in the company directory
What I'm trying to say is that it pays to have a modicum of common sense when doing this
