2025.01.20 20:45 Madstotheb Engine ticking
Hi guys, I drive a Renault Megane II convertible, 1.6L engine. Recently the engine has started making a ticking noise when it starts and for a minute or so afterwards. It goes away completely when it's being driven regularly. When it's started after sitting for a while, it goes away after driving for a few minutes. When it started I noticed the engine oil was very low so topped this up but it has carried on. There's no oil leak, the coolant is fine and the belt is in good shape. As it's an old car that I've recently bought I noticed the old oil in the engine has gone brown and sludgy. Does anybody have any suggestions? Does it just need a simple oil change? Thanks so much in advance!

Hey all
Just wondering, was Miquella always in Enir-Ilim or does he only get there once we burn the thorns?
I’ve been kind of thinking it my whole playthrough of the DLC, if Miquella can’t get in without burning the thorns with Messmer’s flame, then why would I, the controller of Messmer’s flame after killing him, burn them for him, letting him in and risking him ascending to godhood?
Or was he there the whole time and the idea is that in order to stop him ascending to godhood I need to get in via burning the thorns?
It’s a bit of an immersion breaker for me in games when I’m forced to do something that doesn’t make sense to me so I’m hoping someone can illuminate me on what the best way to think about it is.

2025.01.20 20:45 Competitive-Algae-88 (recruiters) Would you rather be hiring in a talent shortage/customer surplus situation, or the opposite of that?
I've been a recruiter for the past 10 years and have hired in environments where there's no shortage of customers but a shortage of candidates, and also vice versa.
Question: What do IC recruiters prefer and 2 specific reasons why?
IMO I've always been able to find a creative way to fill roles despite a talent shortage, whereas solving a customer shortage problem has been a tougher nut to crack. Companies tend to lean on a high influx of online talent from their posts on job boards (and internal HR team of recruiters if they have one) to get their roles filled. It usually when a company really runs stuck (can't find the right talent) that they start looking at external staffing support.
Strong informed opinions needed!

2025.01.20 20:45 Full-Pop1801 What detergent do you use?
I'm almost 1 year in and I still feel like I haven't found a detergent that I love! I started out using ecos detergent which is nowhere near heavy duty enough and my babe ended up with severe ammonia burns😭 since then I've tried liquid tide f+c, regular liquid tide, persil, arm and hammer powder(absolutely LOATHED this), arm and hammer liquid, and tide powder. We have pretty hard water and I feel like powder detergent works best for us, but I'd love to find a good powder that is unscented! I'm so sensitive to scents and would much rather use a bag of lavender or wool balls in the dryer to add scent. So far the only powders I have found are "plant based"/eco type detergents which just isn't enough for diapers.
I'd love to hear what everyone else uses and loves!

To be clear, I am not affiliated with Peterborough Pride, but I have been incredibly proud to attend their events every year since moving to the city.
Whilst this has always been free, they have unfortunately had some funding issues this year and so the event is ticketed. Up until February 28th, they are offering early bird tickets for £5 (plus a 10% ticket fee). There is also an option for "Pay it Forward" tickets to help those who may struggle to purchase their own.
