2025.01.21 00:42 13thwarrior1 Is FWD/RWD faster then 4WD/AWD if the car is already travelling 40mph+ ?
I know that 4WD cars are faster off the line due to better traction, but I have heard that once the cars are travelling at a certain speed (where traction isn’t a concern) that 2WD cars are quicker because of the 4WD drive train loses. I drive a 380 bhp FWD and have raced similar power 4WD with success (usually straight line roads) but this is mainly when I’m already travelling 30-40mph so I have better traction. I know off the line they would beat me.

I need advice on how I can clean a second hand coat I recently bought. I was going to take it to a dry cleaner and they quoted me 100 dollars, so that's not an option. The suede is in good condition, but the fur is a bit dirty. It's gray/gross in spots, but the fur isn't clumpy.

This all started with this girl that I met on Snapchat. Long story short, We ended up being somewhat close and every two weeks I would top her a 100 to help her out. Unfortunately as time passed I would end up topping her 200 a week and the result was with me losing a bit more than I gained. it was all to help her grandma who needed meds as well, but soon when she ran out she would ask me for maybe 500 to top her so she can get her grandmas meds. I was able to this because I worked overtime every week, but then things went south last year in October. around that time her grandma was in really bad shape so she asked if I could save some money to help her grandma get surgery by December 23. During that time around November I was beginning to send more than what I was earning because of her Grandma getting in critical condition. And because of that I ended up shelling a lot of money out of my savings. Even worse was when she ended up getting sick herself and I also had to pay money for her hospital bills as well. It was at that point I was losing and using my savings for both of them as well. I was happy they were okay, but by that time I was sincerely low on money and then newer problems surfaced. I even gave her 80 for her own periods and up to this month it’s been rough. I get paid on a bi weekly basis and my pay is about 17.63 per hour. I always get by and manage to save up lots by budgeting, but the girl and her grandmas situation put a huge wrench in those plans. First check of the month I had to spend 600 to help pay my mortgage and then i still had to top her 200 because she has no car and takes the bus. My second check I was able to get my checking to about 1000 dollars. Gave her 200 as usual and hoped things would be fine, but then I found out she needed 500 dollars for her grandmas meds again because she ran out. Not only that, but to give her money I’ve had to use bitcoins because her cashapp, which we used at first, got lost because her old phone was stolen. So about 300 dollars I should be good right? Wrong. Unfortunately she needed another 300 and being the great guy I was, I gave it to her with now maybe only about 50 dollars left in my checking.
I’ve been on an emotional ride with this one. There were times where I told her I couldn’t afford to give her what amount she needed, but she kept pleading that she needed it for her grandma. It’s gotten worse where at this point she is asking me for over 200 dollars for her grandmas meds, and when I tell her I don’t have it, she says give it anyway and it’s not about the money. She’s even said she would try and pay me back and that I should be patient, but I feel like my patience has reached way too far. I’ve thought so many times to block her because not only was I not being able to take care of myself, but her insistence kept on getting on my nerves. Worst part was I often scolded and yelled at her at how much she’s gutted me financially and has said numerous times that she was sorry. She even gets me by telling me that her grandmas gonna die and then her own problems kick in too. I’ve helped because I really cared, but nit only do I feel trapped, I also feel like she is putting so much on her grandma that she doesn’t realize she’s not helping herself as well. Worst part is she doesn’t have a job so it’s been me topping her at a huge blow to myself. I had like 11,500 dollars still in my savings, but because of the extreme situations of the last three months, I barely have 40 dollars left.
What should I do? She’s still insistent on asking me to give her the money when I really don’t have anything. She said her aunt is sending a check to help, but she had to waste it on me instead of herself and her grandma. Now I’m hoping to get that check to help her, but she’s still begging me for the money for her grandmas meds when I’ve repeatedly told her I don’t have the money and to wait for the check.
Ive thought about blocking her so many times, but then I always think back to her grandmother needing help and always change my mind. I don’t even know how to help her anymore when she won’t let me help myself

Hello, People of AskAnthropology!
I am currently trying to research applying to get an MA in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology and was wondering if I could get some help.
A little backstory: Ever since high school, I wanted to get into anthropology because I have a love for world history and cultures. How they interact with each other, how they evolve, how they differentiate and compare, etc. However, my family talked me out of pursuing it since they didn't believe it to be a financially stable career (Note: I'm aware it's not a stable career path necessarily, but I still want to get into it). Instead, I got my BA in Film and Media Arts in 2015 and while I don't regret doing that, haven't really used it fully since then.
A few questions:
- Should I volunteer or go to a field school first before applying for an MA to get some hands-on experience? I live in Pennsylvania, to narrow it down.
- How did you narrow down your specific topic of study for your MA? I'm having a hard time doing so, as I love so many different cultures and aspects of anthropology.
- Would I be able to incorporate my BA into my MA focus, somehow? If not, it's fine. I was just wondering if it were possible to combine my knowledge of film to the anthro field, in some form.

When I’m slowing down it sort of pulsates I can slightly feel it throughout my seat and the truck, when I flick the gear thing into neutral it doesn’t do it at all it slows down smoothly. wtf is this?
