Hello, I've been a well-rounded Ashevillian since 2012. From the Spring of 2013 til now I've been going to Westville Pub on Haywood.
Many memories of this place stand out: Reopening after pandemic rules lifted, Election 2020, the slow shift back to normality after Hurricane Helene, and the overall more neighborly feel of AVL before ... Before ... Well, I'll just say "before," how's that? ;)
Despite working in restaurants for a long time (both front and back of house), I have never encountered a problem like this one. Despite being a loyal regular and tipping servers well–more than 20% most of the time, over about 12 years–whether they are great at their job or not, I have (again) never dealt with a service industry person as spiteful as this one.
There's a server at Westville who has held a grudge against me from the spring of 2021 onward. During the Christmas season - on Xmas Eve, specifically, 2023 - she stepped on me repeatedly from behind as I made my way to the back door. Twice.
Like, it's one thing to run into someone accidentally face to face. This person made a point of trampling me from behind because she could not let go of whatever she has held against me, is still holding against me, and which I have long since forgotten and forgiven.
This passive aggressive behavior has come about more directly, in the form of yelling at my friends and I over silly matters ("what's on the playlist?") and carrying an unbelievable amount of negative energy about her whatever she happens to be doing.
"Well, she's the general manager," the staff tells me. "She can drop in and do what she likes."
Okay, well, in any other line of work, this behavior would get you the boot. You're a manager? No excuse. You're setting an example, and the one she sets is nothing short of terrible.
To be clear: I would never, never, never post something on social media in order to get someone fired or to set their life back in any way. We are living in a time that begs for more forgiving and less condemntatory attitudes and behaviors. I am not shit posting or merely venting. I deeply love this place. I do not wish to cast a pall upon it.
But the passive-aggressive, under-the-table, extremely nasty way in which this person singles me out for silly reasons just for her own vengeful appetites (and using her job to do so) is something I can't be quiet about anymore.
Long story short: I don't get away with stepping on customers. Most don't. And shouldn't.

2025.01.21 03:21 dozenalsystem Can't look away from enemies when using Auto Aim
I'm using a joystick controller. When auto aim is on, I cannot look away from enemies, regardless of what I enter in skill.cfg. I entered the console command sv_aim 0, but that didn't change anything, either. I also tried changing the density and dead zone on my joysticks.
What am I doing wrong? How I can fix this? Thanks.

I (30F) have been having a rough time sleeping for a while now. I have 1yo twins, whom do not sleep through the night and a 5yo boy, that ends up in my bed every night. I’m constantly tired and can’t seem to catch up on sleep. I frequently take naps on weekends just to make it through the day and weekdays consist of large caffeine intake. My RHR is 50-52bpm, I’m 230lbs and 5’10. I workout 3-4 days/week doing 20-30mins of cardio. My heart rate has been dropping to 38-40bpm while sleeping. I’m having sleep paralysis multiple times a week and my smart watch is showing my deep sleep is consistently less than 10% every night. I have a heart murmur that is monitored every five years. Other than my weight, I’m relatively healthy. What should I do from here?
