Problem/Goal: Should I replace my 8-year-old MacBook Pro already?
Context: I'm a graduating student na and I own a Macbook Pro 2017 13" 8/128gb (why I chose these specs, yun lang and sumakto sa budget that time). I use it on a daily basis and never naman ako nagkaproblema ng malala in terms of performance kasi I was a previous acer user and sobrang mas malala non tipong wala ka talaga halos magawang work sa sobrang lag.
I think three years in, I accidentally dropped my laptop sa public cr. Nasa loob naman sya ng bag kaso bumaliktad yung bag habang nakapatong sa sink and since then nagkaron na sya ng black lines sa screen and I could no longer use the facetime webcam (sensor is on and the part is detectable pero walang lumalabas sa cam, duda ko naalog sa loob.) But performance wise it never changed. Through those years I simply looked for an alternative to solve my problems like buying a webcam and a hard drive for storage. Tapos sa lcd, tiis tiis nalang.
However since a few months ago napapansin ko minsan pag ino-on, namamatay ulit. Tapos it takes time bago sya mag on ulit. Minsan kahit full charge, bigla mamamatay tapos pag ino-on from 100% to 20%-. Minsan din pag naka full charge naman bago i-off, pag on ko drained na yung battery. Not to mention the occasional overheating problem to the point na nakakapaso na and I think this is the main reason why nagmelt at naging brittle na yung protective rubber around the lcd. It also just died on me and biglang nagshi-shift from charging to not charging, 16% to 6% tapos mamamatay. I just checked, and currently it has 1689 cycle count and yung condition says 'service recommended.'
Previous Attempts: I tried replacing the type c cable pero ganon parin. Is it time to let go of this na ba or savable pa rin? Di naman out of budget kung talagang kakailanganin for schoolworks and review but I badly wanna know if mas practical pa bang ipa replace nalang yung battery considering all the other problems pa or bumili nalang talaga ng bago. (I'm currently eyeing the MacBook Air M2 8/256 GB)

Hello, this may be an odd question, but I have been thinking a lot about it and Reddit is the only place I could think to ask.
Most of the relationships I have had have been an either or situation. I just started a job with an ID firm as a way to make more money. I was previously a prosecutor for a few years and this is my first civil job. I recognize I’m as green as it gets with civil work. My bonuses are directly tied to how many hours I bill and the bonuses are the whole reason I left public service.
I started about two weeks ago and I’m having trouble finding tasks to work on. I reached out to the partners to ask for any extra things to work on and they gave me a few tasks that ate up a couple days, but I’m almost done with those. I don’t want to keep going back to the partners and make them think there’s not enough work to go around.
How should I play this? Keep a low profile until work comes my way and just under bill until then? Or do I go back to the partners to keep filling my plate?

I have an LG B3 TV paired with my LG S75QR. The sound is great most of the time, but when watching movies, especially action movies the dialogue seems very low along side the sound effects and/or backgroun music.
I usually like it in cinema mode or clear voice - but it doesnt solve the low dialogue issue and I find it difficult to listen to (as opposed to watching tv series or documentaries when the dialogue is clear and louder from the music/sound effects)
any suggestions ?

In my company normally your salary is revised every year. I'm fairly new but I know for senior employees that that's a common thing in the company.
Last year I worked hard. I did overtime processing when we were running behind in different projects and my upper management delegated many new responsibilities on me. I thought I was growing and doing ok. In fact, in various occasions I got really good feedback from my supervisors. So I was expecting a good raise for 2025, but I haven't received it.
How should I react? What should I expect?

It’s a small van so I’m considering either 55L or 70L duffels instead of suitcases that take up a lot of space.

2025.01.21 04:06 tserium How long after an er visit should I stop worrying that my hgb levels dropped below 7 again?
I went to the er last Tuesday because my hemoglobin levels from Monday’s bloodwork was at 6.9. When they took my blood at the hospital it was at 7.2 so I did not get a blood transfusion and was told to come back if I started experiencing intense symptoms. Since Wednesday I have been experiencing a mild headache, mild dizziness, and feeling like my heart is racing faster than usual when doing activities that require body work, like walking. I’ve been a little concerned that even though the symptoms are mild that it could actually be my anemia getting worse as on last Monday I was not experiencing these symptoms and felt pretty fine except extreme calf pain from walking a very short distance that morning which went away later on in the day. I’ve been taking my iron pills since last Tuesday, it’s basically been a week but I’ve read that it could drop below 7 days later. It’s also possible my hemoglobin already dropped below 7 and it’s just been the under there. If I am having these symptoms into tomorrow I think I’ll talk to my mom about trying to get labs done.
