2025.01.21 04:06 CidGalceran [Life is Strange: Before the Storm] #49 That was a hella nice story.
I won't lie, I didn't like Chloe at the end of Life is Strange. I couldn't see myself playing a whole game as her. I'm happy to say it was better than expected.
I think her voice acting and the music carried the game, but the story wasn't too bad. I'm also happy I finished it right before it left PS+ Extra hehe.
On to Life os Strange 2 as my 50th platinum. I heard it's one of the best in the series so I hope I won't regret that milestone xD

2025.01.21 04:06 No_Tomatillo_9370 Salus is Failing Us, and Half of Us Are About to Fail Boards
We are overwhelmed and scared. The curriculum at Salus feels like it’s setting us up to fail. NBEO Part 1 is less than two months away, and our schedules are packed with mandatory hours, leaving barely any time to study—some days, not even enough time to eat. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are brutal, with lectures from 8 AM - 12 PM immediately followed by clinic from 12 PM - 8 PM (if you’re lucky and don’t have a complicated case).
Here’s a breakdown of last week’s mandatory schedule:
- 16 hours / 3 days per week of clinic
- 8 hours / 4 meetings of boards prep class
- 4 hours / 2 meetings of advanced brain injury (ABI) class
- 4 hours of minor surgical procedures lab
- 2 hours of a sports vision lab in the gym where we jumped on trampolines lol …
We also have 3 final exams - February 4th, 19th, and 27th* - right before boards.
\(The last final is for ABI which is optional - we could choose to take it OR attend 10 lectures (20 hours). The class wasn’t initially supposed to be in our curriculum, it was added last minute)*
It is sad and frustrating because most of these mandatory hours feel like a waste of precious time:
- Boards prep class: sounds helpful in theory, but it’s actually chaos. lmagine 120 students crammed into an 85-degree room. Some students choose to sit on the floor out of view of the professor so they can desperately do Optoprep questions. One lecturer is struggling to explain basic optical cross questions, visibly confusing herself and saying multiple incorrect things. The next lecturer insists their topic is high-yield, but it seems like they haven’t looked at the NBEO matrix and seen that there are max 2 questions from that topic. And the next lecture isn’t even a lecture - it’s a MANDATORY THERAPY SESSION 😭
- ABI class: same thing except now a lady is walking around and watching while you sign an attendance sheet one by one. You feel like a preschooler instead of a grad student. Meanwhile a video of a throat swallowing repeatedly plays in the background at max volume, so loud that you can’t even drown it out with your headphones. You just want to go home and STUDY.
- Clinic: 8 hours per week are in specialty care services, where multiple fourth- and third-year students are crowded into one room, so you will likely be standing in a corner observing. This was helpful when we first started clinic 2 years ago, but not now.
- The ABI instructor ended one class with an unprofessional rant, accusing us of being disrespectful for not giving full attention to the 20 hours of lecture. She insisted that we didn’t need to study much because we’d all pass—even though half of us literally won’t. Hearing that when the stakes are this high feels crushing. (She later deleted the rant out of the official lecture recording lol).
- From day one this professor was one of the worst we’ve had. She taught us clinical optics & ametropia (key topics on NBEO!) so poorly that most of the class failed her exam, and she had to offer a retake of the exact same exam, word for word. (Thankfully admin has reassigned the course to be led by our other wonderful optics teacher for the younger classes).
- Additionally, some clinic preceptors have criticized students for arriving late to clinic, even when delays are caused by our class schedules—something they should already know.
Every lecture filled with irrelevant content, every clinic shift spent standing idle, and every hour wasted on mandatory filler is time taken away from preparing for the most important exam of our careers. The administration needs to stop hiding behind excuses and start taking real responsibility.

2025.01.21 04:06 OpinionsRdumb I see 2 scenarios
Scenario 1: High off their horses from how easy this meme coin launch was and no one noticing-- the Trump circle just blatantly dumps the rest of their meme coin ownership onto the public, come 3 months. They do this so blatantly that even the new SEC appointee is stuck in a conundrum of what to do because of just how blatant it was. Even loyal Trumpist senators/congresspeople cannot hold back the criticism. And suddenly this turns into a major scandal/riff within the party. This is also followed by a massive wave of Meme coins from right wing influencers pumping and dumping with 0 regard for financial law etc. Institutions and crypto die hards completely lose faith in the system. And this triggers another crypto winter akin to 2022.
Scenario 2: Nothing happens and life goes on. Crypto, as a whole, still gets pumped from having a pro-crypto president.
Leaning towards scenario 2.. but could use some convincing for my own peace of mind that this scam is a nothing burger in the grand scheme of things. My main worry is that now every one and their mother is going to start doing meme coins with the intent of dumping. How could they not? There will be 0 regulation.

Teen jobs I cannot find anything in this city for work (F17 basically b day is in like 3 weeks) I have been applying everywhere I can think of even Tim's and McDonald's and all that the only interview I got was at roots and the guy who interviewed me freaked me out and I didn't get a call back I'm pretty sure he decided he wasn't gonna hire me the second I walked up. My résumé is pretty basic I'm not into much I have my food safety and WHIMIS done because of school idk how long that lasts from the date I got it but I've done the training. Anytime I apply on indeed the job listing gets closed within three hours even if it's been up for weeks idk if that's just coincidence probably is but I need money and I need a job and the work experience. Collage is coming up and just for a bunch of other stuff I need to get I can't ask my parents for. This is so frustrating and no one I know can get a job around here. Does anyone have any tips for me or know of anywhere hiring
