Loosing my cactus I know its not a cactus but its similar and i cant remember the name. What am i doing wrong? I check regularly if the dirt is dry, and only if it is i water it. I think maybe she doesn't get enough sunlight, but as I put her in the sunlight she got faded out as seen. Pls help

Currently going through a breakup. We live together. He is working on moving out and making a plan. But in the meantime we are still acting as if we are together. Hanging out, texting, being affectionate. We bought two sets of couches a year ago. Financed them together. I picked out a set and so did he and we both agreed and compromised what the other one wanted.
I went through his phone ( I know I shouldn't of) but saw a text between him and his brother. The couch I picked broke a few days ago while his daughter was reclining it. Some type of malfunction. He told me. I didn't question him if he was going to fix it or demanded. We do have a warranty on it. But he likes to fiddle with things and fix stuff himself.
Anyways it gets fixed. We needed super glue, he asked me to go out and get it since it was my day off. I agreed.
The text to his brother was saying how this is something I would have ignored. And his brother texted him back about how my life is going to go into shambles after he leaves. My boyfriend (ex) agrees and says he's going to take that couch and that's why he's fixing it and he doesn't care how much I'll hate him for it. And he's dreading of the I miss you text he will receive for me.
But yeah we fucked last night and he even took me out to dinner...
I'm mad. I'm hurt. I'm confused. This breakup is mainly because of him. (Long story ) I know I'm not innocent. And I know I'm going to struggle with many things once he moves out. I never denied that.
But seeing what him and his brother said pissed me off. So I just assume everything he sees his brother he just talks shit about me. And doesn't tell him how he cries to me how much he will miss me. And he loves me.
But then that makes me even question if he does feel that way about me. Or he's just being nice get fucked.

I'm looking to get some feedback on my proposed floor plan before I take it to my architect for their feedback. (TLDR: Jump to the section on "Things I dislike or am not entirely sure how to handle"). Yes, I know I need to get an architect’s help, but I want to come prepared by brainstorming early and make those discussions as productive as possible.
Overall, I worked really hard on my floor plan, and really love it, especially the entire East side. Please note that the orientation is not the usual orientation (Upwards is NOT North, North is to the Right).
The parts I love most:
  • The whole South-East third of the house is almost perfect, I think.
  • I love that the master bedroom is in the far south-east corner of the property (south-east is the best part of the property), and that the master bedroom has huge glass windows that overlooks the Sauna, hot tub, and pool on three sides. This is the perfect little retreat, and my favorite part of the house. From my bed, I can see my lady topless in the pool or sauna.
  • I love the large Atrium at the center of the house. Everyone (residents and guests alike) must walk past the Atrium to get into the Great room (livingroom+diningroom+kitchen), so the Atrium is a central part of the house, which I love.
  • I love the large household bathroom can transform between a Guest bathroom or a Private Master Bathroom by locking a couple doors. The household bathroom is visually spectacular, and well-configured for guests who need to use the bathroom. To achieve the stunning visual aesthetics, the bathroom necessarily lacks some of the more day-to-day living essentials (various hygiene products, medications, storage, etc). For this reason, the master bedroom has an additional bathroom which is more fully stocked and suitable for more private daily use.
  • I love that by reconfiguring the four pocket doors to the west of the master bedroom, I can reconfigure which areas are public/private. For example, when guests are here, the Household bath and sauna can be opened to the public, while keeping the Master Bath and Master bedroom closed.
  • Every wall in the East side of the house is made of solid floor-to-ceiling glass windows, giving striking visuals of the east side of the property. The great room also has all glass windows. I want to ensure these views are maintained for guests visiting and walking through the hallways and for my master suite.
  • I love that the house has three largely separate areas (Great room for guests, Master suite for me, Kids wing for kids or visiting family members or whatever.
Things I like:
  • Great room's open floor plan makes entertaining easy. Guests can hang out in the living room couch or dining table talking while dinner is being prepared in the kitchen, when eating at the dining table, it's easy to grab something from the kitchen, etc. Open floor plan works well for my entertaining style (a few guests hanging out, usually we make dinner or grill something).
  • The Great room has all glass windows, and is situated in the north-east side of the building, which is the second nicest side of the property. Big open floor plan with giant glass windows encourages indoor-outdoor living.
  • There is a large bonus room on top of the Great Room. I can use this when inviting over groups for private acro-yoga or pottery classes, etc.
  • I like that the Kid's wing has its own back door and that the back door is located within a bathroom. The property is agriculture land, so very dirty, and having kids be able to go out and play, come back and cleanup before being in their bedroom wing without tracking mud through the entire house seems desirable.
Things I dislike or am not entirely sure how to handle:
  • The Kid's wing feels a tiny bit awkward. I did my best of organizing the kid's bedrooms+bathroom+closet to minimize wasted space. I wish there was a bit more storage space.
  • If I were ever to extend the house in the future, it would almost certainly grow in the South or West or South-West direction, so I kinda like that I could remodel the bathroom into an extended hallway and then build more additions in the south-west direction. However, that may just be a pipe dream; if I'm honest with myself, it's unlikely we would build an addition to this house. I'm not sure the best way to make the house extensible to add additional bedrooms/storage in the future, but don't want to over optimize on this point.
  • The Entryway is absolutely massive. In some ways I like this, because the huge entryway may give a first impression of "Wow". But on the other hand, the entryway is kinda wasted space and I don't really know what to do with the space (I have some nice storage cabinets for people's coats and shoes and backpacks, and some artwork on the far wall, and a plant, but otherwise unsure what to do with the space). The primary reason for the big entryway block is to give the house a little more visual symmetry from the driveway (curb appeal) and to make it super visually easy to find the front door from a distance (in a mostly-glass building, the front door can be hard to locate, so having a non-glass entryway makes it easier to highlight the front door). People approaching the house will be driving in either from the West or from the North.
  • Just like how I dislike guests seeing a messy bathroom, I dislike guests seeing the "pragmatic" side of the kitchen (dishes drying on a dish rack, various soap dispensers and cleaning supplies, mess from cooking dinner, etc). I'm a little tempted to separate the kitchen into a guest-friendly "dry kitchen" and then a more industrial wet kitchen for real cooking. Just not sure if it's worth the effort and am a little afraid to disrupt a floorplan that I already really like. Also, don't want it to be inconvenient for someone in the wet kitchen to need something from the dry kitchen or vice versa (eg. need to get item from the "other" refrigerator).
  • This is my first time seriously putting together a floor plan. I honestly don't know what factors I'm failing to consider.

Now that my workmates are congratulating me and wishing me well on my new endeavor, I felt like I belong sa sandaling panahon na magkakasama kami. Alam ko, yung iba sa kanila felt like I was too young to take on a higher role. I am the youngest in our department, kaya feeling ko ganoon nila ako i-trato. But I knew that most of them are happy that I am finally able to be on a job where I can really grow. I am happy kasi I was able to be on a workplace na I can be myself, but I am sad to go. I just wish na yung lilipatan ko will be as supportive as my company now. I know this is a great opportunity for me, it's just that ang hirap mag-let go kapag nasanay ka na sa comfortable na environment.

2025.01.21 06:03 Dapper-Inspector-675 I've finally made the switch with all the extra perks

So I've wanted to go Linux as my main OS for a long time, however I was always quite limited to me playing a lot of Games being dependent on Office due to Education etc.
But after 2 hard weeks, I've finally switch to Linux to be exact NixOS. Well you might ask, why I went with a rather unknown distro; I tried it and loved the following aspects: - Declaratively writing packages and configuration, was always my dream, I loved scripting windows installs as much possible anyway. - No more package dependencies conflicting due to each package being seperated
- No company likue Canoncial/Microsoft behind.
So now I talked about Gaming being important to me, and wow I amazed, stunned, I read about heroic and being able to play non-linux games without anticheat on linux, and I always expected it to be buggy, laggy and far from ready, but some of my Games (Farming Sim 19/22) both worked out-of the house, with cloud sync, even the manual import of a dvd from farming sim19 to heroic worked just fine, amazing!
Next thing Office, while I still use Office, at least I can now on linux, I discovered WinApps: https://github.com/winapps-org/winapps
And they are sooo amazing, it takes some time to understand their docs, however the process is actually really straightforward!
Then you have a docker Win11 VM accessible via Browser with RDP viewer, can install Apps normally and WinApps will link them and make them look like real native apps on linux, and it works actually amazingly well via RDP application streaming!
So overall I can say I'm really happy I finally got rid of microsoft windows almost entirely. Sadly I still have to use Windows for certain Anti-Cheat games, however with my pc always first booting linux, the usage of windows will decline more and more and I certainly believe / hope that with the rising SteamDeck we'll see more Games support Linux as well.
Why are you still on windows?

I was at a friend’s house along with four other girls (we’re all 20sF). We were just chillin and trying to set up her projector but we couldn’t figure it out. Her brother is currently staying with her and he was in the kitchen so she called him over for help.
He managed to fix it but then we all started looking for the remote control. He was wearing sweatpants and I thought he had the remote in his pocket. So I casually said that he’s got it in his pockets.
Confused he looked down and said “no I don’t”. I was soooooo confident I said “yeah just check your pockets”. He emptied his pockets and said he’s got nothing. I pointed directly and said “it’s on that side”.
He immediately turned bright red and I was confused like why is this dude suddenly blushing for no reason
My friend/his sister just looked grossed out and laughed and told me to stop talking. The other girls were choking back tears trying to not to laugh out loud. He looked mortified and silently walked out and it took me a good 5 seconds to understand what happened.
When it dawned on me I texted him an apology because I felt bad for putting him on the spot like that. He normally texts back fast but he hasn’t responded so far at all lmao.
I’m just extremely embarrassed and the next best solution is to change my identity, move to Siberia and adopt a crocodile I can go swimming with all in that order

I do apologize for this unexpected interruption to this recording, but the Solanathius is currently behaving like a petulant child and throwing a tantrum while having a mental breakdown. I will resume translations AFTER they have calmed down. In the meantime, I would like to address any questions or comments from previous records. I invite you all to ask anything you like and I shall either attempt to convince Ahr’Kyv Solanathius N’rakt Vsak to answer any reasonable questions directed to us, or failing that, attempt to answer those questions myself.
  To our first comment, I am sure that once ….   To our third commenter, I specifically with-held the information packet titled Loony Toons from the Solanathius’ attention after personally observing a transcript titled ‘Space Jam’. I believed at the time that the Solanathius would be unable to … oh dear … just one moment please, he is attempting to bite his way through some of the vines that transport nutrients to our navigation bloom.

  Okay … so, fiction and entertainment are apparently … things. They do not translate for us as we have no concept of them. I can only hope that this does not cause mental breakdowns for the rest of my kind after they receive this knowledge. After reviewing the definitions provided by the species of Earth, fiction is related to works of the imagination designed to invoke emotions… approximately. Entertainment is … well, it is anything produced for the purpose of making the species of this world feel happy and possibly fulfilled… essentially to improve their emotional state.
  Learning all of this led to just a minor … state of stress. Apparently, humans use fiction to provide themselves with entertainment. This seems to cause their brains to release some sort of chemical which elevates their emotions and allows them to live a healthier lifestyle. So … if all the species behave like this and not just humans, DON’T take away their entertainment. I worry that without an acceptable outlet, they may start getting creative in how to entertain themselves and trust me, we don’t want that. We should also be wary when engaging with humans not to make assumptions based on their video and audio records as a large number of these may in fact be fictional.
  As a warning for future contact with the humans of earth, they are not unified and have formed around two hundred countries which are regions of land that forms an independent political unit with its own government. Due to this, I would advise sending a glith of Rittithro to a neutral location upon their planet to engage in political discourse though if it is possible to muster enough for one per country, the humans may appreciate that. I have yet to be able to determine the ruling methods of the other species I have been observing and will send further updates regarding them in time.
  It does seem that humans enjoy their various forms of entertainment so it may be prudent to have any Rittithro study and observe some forms of entertainment that the humans enjoy. Personally, I would advise the styles of theatre, music, novels, sports, movies, and video games. Large groups of their population find their attention gravitating toward these subjects to a point of almost zealous fervor.
  In the case of music and sports, we may even want to send a member or two of our Iminor Caste. Humans seem to thrive on a delicate balance of competition and cooperation which is one of the strongest traits of the Iminor. It could be that they may find a mutual ground that the Rittithro would have otherwise overlooked.
  All visitors to Earth should be alerted ahead of time that a large number of species seem to have a thing for physical contact. While it may not be necessary to engage in such activities it should be noted that initiating any forms of physical contact is likely a poor idea, IF physical contact is initiated by an Earth creature, the appropriate response is NOT to kick, swat, or throw the subjects away. I cannot say for sure, but I personally would advise simply mimicking the action back to them. This may be the least offensive reaction.
  There are two additional warnings that I would suggest making known to any Ahr’Kyv planning to visit Earth. First, the planet Earth is primarily covered in water unlike Siryjhael where the bulk of our water is stored within the crust. This has granted much of their wildlife the opportunity to hunt aquatic creatures and even learn to swim to a degree. It also means that aquatic creatures have more opportunity to hunt terrestrial or airborne creatures. Any members of the Iminor Caste that seek to hunt aquatic wildlife should seek out humans specializing in aquatic activities for training as we have never really had to deal with anything that was so deep that we could not simply walk across the bottom while holding our breath and that is assuming there were not alternative methods to bypass such bodies of water.
  Second is that there is one other species that we should be aware of, that being cats. Large cats, small cats, some as big as our head… I wouldn’t doubt it if Earth was actually ruled over by cats and dogs with humans being a domesticated species. I am less inclined to believe dog and other variants of canine are a dominant species given how … needy they seem to be with the attention of their human companions. Humans seem very protective of any other creatures they willingly allow into their territory so before assuming that something is food, our envoys should inquire as to the relationship a human or clutch of humans may have towards these other entities.
  I shall continue looking into Humans and the other species on Earth for the time being as some appear to no longer be present. With any luck, their histories may reveal more to me. K’Esh has let me know that he intends to ask the different species what genres of entertainment from movies, music, books, and video games they believe would be a good representative of their world.
