To start, I have never really had any true friends, I have always felt lonely and I predict I will continue to feel lonely for the rest of my life but thats just how things go for me. In any cae, I used to have friends throughout highschool and middle school who hung out with me because of my cousin or because they would have no one else to hang out with. Unfortunately I was incredibly naive so they would bully me constantly but I would not realize it at the time. I was pretty developed for my age so they would always make fun of me for it or tell me terrible things or give me bad advice like brushing my curls out of my hair to "look prettier". Or inviting me along to hang out but ignoring me the whole time. One time a friend invited me and my cousin to hang out but spent the whole time just talking to her and gifting her things from her travels. I got all the mini samples that she was considering discarding. Shes done nice things for me as well but she would always target me for mean comments about my body. It didnt get better in college or at work. Whether I try to make friends or stop trying I still get targeted by bullies or fake friends. One of my other cousins works with me but she is friends with some of my bullies at work. How can I make myself seem less attractive to these peronality types?

Ivm meerdere collega's op Reddit, hier een alt account voor gemaakt:
Ik (M32) werk nu drie jaar voor een grote energieleverancier als software engineer. Ik heb dit werk altijd met veel plezier gedaan; mijn werkgever biedt veel kansen om me te ontwikkelen en de werk/privébalans is erg goed. In oktober ben ik overgestapt naar een ander team. De werkzaamheden zijn vergelijkbaar, maar veel minder teamgericht en meer individualistisch, iets wat ik normaal juist leuk vind. Toch merk ik dat het werk nu een stuk eenvoudiger is en weinig uitdaging biedt. Ik kan mijn taken moeiteloos uitvoeren en het team is tevreden, maar zelf mis ik de voldoening die ik eerder had.
Ik heb dit al een paar keer voorzichtig aangegeven, maar er verandert weinig. We zitten met een vast pakket werk dat de komende maanden af moet, waardoor differentiëren of uitdagender werk oppakken lastig is. Ik ben van mening dat als je voor langere tijd minder werkgeluk ervaart, het belangrijk is om op zoek te gaan naar een nieuwe functie.
Maar nu komt de catch: ik word begin april vader. Daarnaast heb ik net een huis gekocht. Dit weerhoudt me ervan om verder te zoeken. Mijn omgeving zegt dat ik blij moet zijn met wat ik heb, zeker met een drukke periode voor de deur. Maar daar koop ik weinig voor; ik wil me blijven ontwikkelen en ik vind het gevoel van ‘stilstand’ erg frustrerend.
Mijn vraag is hoe ik hiermee om moet gaan. Ik voel me enigszins gevangen in mijn situatie. Wat zijn jullie ervaringen hiermee? Is het verstandig om toch naar een andere functie te kijken of moet ik luisteren naar mijn omgeving en de situatie even uitzitten?

When I was in school, there was a girl i used to talk. She was a friend, nothing more than that. She would share her story with me, when she was going through a break-up. We were in touch and one day when we were both sitting on a stone bench, she leaned towards me and hugged me from side. I didn't feel anything wrong, it was a friendly gesture. One day when I was about to leave campus, she ran into me and hugged me. We used to hug normally, but this was something unusual. I felt like she was pressing onto me. And she was keeping herself in the hugged position. I broke the hug, to not make things wired, but we continued exchanging a few more words. And one day I was near my hostel and she was coming out from hostel (one of our hostels was mixed. Boys in upper floors and girls in lower ones). She again came to me and hugged me, again clearly pressing her front to my chest. While hugging I had to keep my hands on her waist but suddenly took back. After that I always try to limit our interaction to a shake hand. We talked tho. Soon after than she was hanging out with a guy. I always wonder if she was inviting me!!
