- Do snorkelling and say trips to phi leave from major centres or they can pick you up from your accomodation anywhere on the island?
- Trying to avoid anything adult/nightlifey (8 and 11 year old) is there night markets and street food around Karon?

2025.01.21 09:50 drjrrjrd I have a swim gala in 2 days but I havent trained in 2 years
Guys I really need your help. Basically I used to do competitive swimming at quite a good level, training 8 hours a week etc. Then I moved to the UK and I havent found a coach or did any training for 2 years. Unfortunately my school had decided to enter me in a swim gala using my times from me at my peak. The other kids swimming with me are all county swimmers.(for US ppl I think it's similar to state level) and I am really scared of letting down my team and embarrassing myself. If anyone has any tips or advice please tell me. Also I am only doing freestyle/ front crawl

What if billboards where introduced to atlas earth where advertisers could pay a fee to the billboard owner depending on the atlas user traffic in that area. They would be more expensive than a regular plot but could pay quite well in high traffic locations. Ofc content would have to be moderated in that case and ideally there would be a radius limit preventing billboards from being right next to each other. Restaurants could put billboards on their own plot that would be fun.

2025.01.21 09:50 Immediate-Risk-7569 ELI5: How does a dimmer regulate the brightness of a light?
When I measure the output voltage of a dimmer it stays constant (237V) no matter on what brightness I set it. But when I plug in a 100w incandescent light I can regulate it's brightness without issue. The dimmer also says it needs minimum 25w otherwise it doesn't work, does this explain why the voltage doesn't change without a load?

Joe Swash - I think if he had a different voice, people would be much less opposed to him. Seems like a nice bloke to me.
Michael McIntyre - I love The Wheel and just find him quite funny, I love his chaotic/zany sense of humour.
Joel Dommett - similarly, I like his energy and how he doesn’t take himself too similarly.
Dermot O’Leary - I have loved that man since I was like 4 years old watching him do Big Brother, and I won’t hear a bad word said about him.

Ever since my adolescent years alcohol has been something that has been quite accessible. So it became a normal thing to drink. It began as a one time thing where I did it over the holidays but later transitioned to something that became too occasional. Every weekend any plot. Have free time let me get a drink to pass time. So after a lot of good and bad times I finally got to have that conversation with myself and decided to take a step back from drinking. So after it and days past by I have been feeling like I'm experiencing a loss of self identity like from friends to the things I'd normally do. I had hobbies but after my hobbies the occasional drink would accompany it. Well this also gave light to due to drinking becoming a norm I realized that I hardly ever did things alone. Any invite to a place I'd go with a friend or friends or even after a date I would invite friends out or objectively seek them to know where they were This together with other things fucked up close relationships and now I feel like I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance between my former lifestyle and the change I want. Anyone who's experienced this might be alcohol or any other behavior that share similar characteristics? How and what did you do to move from the past and embrace change?
