I’ll try to keep this short to spare you all. About 4 month ago, i got home from work, had a greasy meal as usual and went out for a smoke. All was fine for a while untill i went to the bathroom and smoked my iqos. I felt extreme sickness and tried to throw up but nothing came out. I panicked and took pills that help with acid in stomach (pantoprazol) and it went away. After that i didnt eat anything thinking it could be gastritis and it made it even worse. I stopped smoking for a few weeks but the szmptoms were still there after each cigarette so i went to my doctor that tested me for helico, and a bunch of other stuff and said if it repeats itself to come back and have a gastroscopy. Currently i smoke a joint a day, the symptoms get a bit worse when j smoke but subdue in like half an hour. Just booked the gastroscopy and i have to wait a while. Could this be CHS or some stomach issue?

2025.01.21 12:10 herding_kittens Two young-ish puppies in the same household?
We just adopted a 9-10 week old shepherd mix last week (P1) after we lost our 12 year old dog in December . Due to circumstances out of our control, we suddenly now also have a 5/6 month old pup in our household (P2) I'm going crazy trying to manage them both. I know this isn't ideal, but it's the reality of my situation at the moment.
The littler one (P1) is a typical puppy teeth tornado at this point, he can last about 45 minutes/1 hour of play/training before descending into bitey,nippy chaos - I'm trying to keep him on a consistent schedule, he'll go down for nap time in his crate once he starts getting snappy. (RIP my fingers!)
The older pup (p2) is pretty decent, he's pretty solidly housebroken and learning commands quickly. And he's super sweet!
The hard part is when they happen to be out of their crates at the same time. We've been working on trying to coexist when they're both out, but it only lasts a few minutes before it turns into wrestlmania. P2 is about 3-4 times bigger than p1 at this point, so his desire to play winds up physically overwhelming the smaller one. And p1 knows he's smaller but doesn't hesitate to stand his ground - so lots of growling and barking at p2, which gets redirected at us when we pick him up when things go too far. Eventually it descends into WW3 and one or both has to go into their crate.
They are fed separately and at different times (one is always in their crate when the other one is being fed). We also try to do their obedience work separately.
Outside of that, how much should I be directing/managing their interactions when theyre both out? Or at this point should they just always be separated until P1 calms down a bit? i.e. if they're both in the room and they start going at it (not full-on dogfight, but what looks like typical puppy play/wrastling/toy stealing) - should we intervene? Or let them hash it out amongst themselves for the most part? (As long as nobody's getting actually injured, that is )
Any other advice would be super appreciated as well.

2025.01.21 12:10 emersynjc Judd and Owen in the Judd’s Current Arc
I know there’s popular consensus in people that they wish TK was the one helping Judd through his alcohol use arc but for once, I don’t mind Owen being the major support in another’s characters story arc and I don’t think TK is the better fit and I think 5x10 was proof of that.
There are a great many things that go into recovery from a substance use disorder and a great many things that go into developing a support person and eventually a support system. But here’s some reasons why I say that Owen specifically is probably a better support (in terms of the day in, day out) than our boy TK.
1- The biggest thing is that TK isn’t a parent, not yet, and even if he was, he was never a parent while in active addiction. Anyone who was or is a parent or caregiver in active addiction can tell you that the people without kids simply do not get the nuance and layers of parenting when it comes to addiction. It is a whole, entirely different ballpark. TK has no idea the way parenting changes someone’s brain, specifically as it comes to coping with addictive behavior, nor does he understand the stressors that come with loving your child but them not living with you.
Owen mentions (I think in the episode with Gwyn’s bird) that he drank a lot post 9/11 and that Gwyn told Owen that he’d “sucked the joy out of their family” , at least in part I assume because of the chaotic substance use. I have a “joke” I made that the reason I know that TK isn’t actually in Narcotics Anonymous is because he would’ve been called out Owen’s problematic relationship with alcohol. Owen can relate to the struggle of attempting to parent (and ultimately failing) during a crisis as well as drinking that is impacting your family.
2- Judd needs someone that has no other priorities. And even if they got rid of the adoption storyline, I would still say that supporting Carlos as he processes the grief of his dad would mean that TK couldn’t give his all to a sponsor relationship.
3- Recovery from alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder actually differ a bit. While the neurobiology of an addictive behavior is the same, opioid dependency and subsequent withdrawal happens a lot faster than alcohol dependency and withdrawal. Opioid withdrawal is painful and awful but rarely deadly. Alcohol withdrawal is painful and awful and sometimes deadly. There’s medication to treat OUD that is extremely effective (XAnon’s opinions of medication not withstanding). Alcohol use disorder is a little more complicated to treat. Opioids and alcohol impact different parts of the brain, so while they do have the hallmarks in common like the desire to do it over and over again eventually making it very difficult to make different choices, they are also dealing with drugs that impact the body in different ways. It’s one of the reasons for separation of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous in the first place.
4- Judd is using faith based recovery and specifically Christian faith based recovery. TK is Jewish. If you recover secularly or with a different religion, you may not know how to encourage someone who is using faith as a cornerstone of their recovery. I think Owen did a decent job here even though he doesn’t seem particularly religious.
5- TK couldn’t be Judd’s sponsor because they don’t encourage someone you have an existing friendship that has an SUD to be your sponsor. Bringing friends and family to open meetings can be a helpful part of your recovery journey, but specifically they suggest picking a sponsor that is new to your situation and can help you evaluate your life more objectively. Owen is a good support person but not Judd’s sponsor, but TK would also be a poor choice for Judd’s sponsor because of their existing friendship.
Bonus reason: based on his age, TK entered recovery while under the age of 25 and developing an SUD after your brain has been fully formed means your recovery process is a little different than when you’re in your late teens or early twenties.
I do think TK would be great for Judd to talk to about substance use but absolutely don’t think that TK should be the primary person helping Judd through this.

So recently when I told someone about my abuse they asked me if I was in a cult, which is where the question comes again to my mind. I generally explain it as an organised network of abusers but when does that become a cult? What is the definition of a cult?
It started at the age of 4. It involved psychological/emotional abuse, coercion and possibly physical abuse straight away. When I was 5 it became sexual abuse, OEA, physical abuse etc. When I was 6 I was taken to my aunt's room and there was a video call. On the other side were two other children and two abusers. The network met up when I was 9 taking along five children, as well as me. It seems that there were some sort of rituals that night and symbolism that pertains to a religious connotation. However, it seems the main focus of the network was to brutalise children and brainwash them.

There has been a lot of discussion around the meta and quite a few complaints around how hard is it because of people retiring the runs which leaves us only against top roll human opponents.
Because of how the "ghosts" work, it only logs you after you fight so retiring in the last hour of the first day is the worst for the meta since it power creeps the first fight and forces a specific strategy for the first day. If you can, hold on until after the first fight.
This would eventually give more options for early builds.
That said, the game is yours to play but since there is a lot of complaints, "be part of the change you want to see in the world" (Mahatma Gandhi)
