Been reading wool is the best, but cotton is 2nd. How about synthetic? My ex's husband tells me that his heart shaped underwear was cotton as to why it didn't smell. A lot of amazon sales have a little bit of polyester in them. Wool takes a lot of care to wash though. Is cotton okay during summer? Which is it for feet and the area above your upper thighs??

This is a hybrid “need to vent,” “career success,” and “kindness and support” all in one.
I am an M&A attorney. I enjoy my work, for the most part. Honestly! Of course I’m not clicking my heels to the office everyday, but if I’m honest, I have a good team around me, supportive bosses, awesome paralegals, and (mostly) clients that I enjoy doing work for (and actually like as people too).
That being said, I have realized that each day I get up and get to work, I have about 5 hours of good, focused work in me. That’s it. That is where I tap out.
That seems to be my human limit. I just can’t go beyond that. After five hours, I’m just a zombie. Less engaged, more error prone, etc.
The work we do is so tedious and detail oriented. Every word in a purchase agreement matters. The subscription agreement for an equity raise has to be spotless lest we risk an enforcement action. Data rooms are vast. And all of this while putting out daily fires and responding to emails. It requires a lot of focus.
I’m new to this (been practicing about 1.5 years)….but I don’t see how this is sustainable? How do we work 8-10 hour days sustaining this level of focus? Are we even meant to work this way? Is it even good for our clients?
Anyway. Idk. I know this is kind of a half baked thought. But does someone here, anyone, follow me?

tying is WHERE ITS AT.
I'm NEVER going back. I have 3 wip tops finished this week! Its SO easy to make it look good to. You can do starbursts, crosses, dots,... Its endless! Id rather sew 125 embroidered leaves than wrestle this bullshit under the arm if my machine and have it come out looking like shit.
If you love to make quilts but hate quilting them then I cannot recommend this technique enough.

- Despite exams, I’ve maintained over 5 hours daily on studies, dedicated 2 hours to my startup, and kept up with regular exercise.
- Recently, I developed a new boilerplate addressing an important market gap, built a SaaS around it, and launched it—all within the last couple of intense study weeks.
- Don't take a break. If you take multiple days off, you will kill your momentum and motivation. You can always spend 15m a day tinkering.
- Don't prioritise your startup. Allocate a fixed amount of time daily for your startup, and use the rest for socializing, studying, etc. If you fall to far behind, you will have to stop working on your startup to catch up.

2025.01.21 23:51 lonesome_song Sore throat is so bad the pain makes me gasp every time I swallow - should I be concerned?
27F, I started getting a sore throat yesterday, and in less than 24 hours, it's become one of the worst sore throats I've had in my life. The pain is so bad that it's literally making me involuntarily gasp and/or make a weird little vocal noise every time I swallow. Should I be concerned, or should I just tough it out for a while and see if it gets better? This has only ever happened to me once before, and I didn't die then, but..... I don't have any trouble breathing, and I can still swallow, it's just extremely painful.
My throat looks bright red/has bright red patches, I'll post a picture in the comments if I can. I also have awful body aches, tenderness in the glands in my neck (they don't look swollen though), inner ear pain (both sides), runny nose, only a slight cough so far, I'm more tired than usual, no appetite and a little nausea, starting to get some sinus pain, and currently no fever but might have had one yesterday (and I did try Tylenol for the pain earlier). And I only started coming down with it yesterday. The sore throat kept me up a lot last night and nothing is really helping with the pain. I think I got it from someone I live with, but that person mostly only has/had a cough and some sinus issues.
So...... Do I need to see a doctor or just tough it out a little longer and see if it gets better? Idk if I'm just being a big baby about it or not.......
(If it matters, I have some degree of throat pain most of the time (along with voice problems), nobody has really been able to figure out why yet, and I'm really tired all the time, which also hasn't been figured out yet, but the symptoms I'm describing in this post are very out of the ordinary and I'm definitely sick.)

So I’ve been working in big law for about a year now and when I was hired, my role was prominently to help with overflow work from other legal assistants. I was hired fresh out of college. i have become more confident in my role and also more depended on by attorneys and other legal assistants so my days are pretty stacked. we had an employee who served as an administrative assistant to help the front desk who recently quit. they would help with general coverage and clerical tasks while the receptionist would stay up front. well now i am being asked to do these things by the receptionist and it is beyond taxing. there have been days when i am called almost constantly to do things like fill one stapler in the copy room, distribute mail (their job), they’ll pretend to forget time sensitive tasks so I have to do them. the list goes on. i’m not getting other tasks done because of the constant hand off of work. they feel they can’t move from the front at all so anything longer than three minutes must be done by me. the bigger issue is we have no managers in our office, just hr at another branch. i also know i getting paid significantly less than what previous people in my position (now regular legal assistants) got paid but didn’t do the work of three. i am not sure how to address this with hr because i’ve tried approaching the receptionist about shifts and they freak out from any sort of criticism. i’ve tried discussing changes in salary and no avail on that so im kinda stuck. any help or ideas would be appreciated!

 | LSS, I should have known better, so I'm taking this one on me as a valuable lesson. The XC place closest to me, the one I have a $200 season pass to, the one I haven't been able to use yet (Jan 21) because they have 2 snow makers compared to the downhill trails that have massive cannons, opened today. But I realized once I left the nice entry trail that my poles were hitting solid ground. It's always a shitshow of pine cones and twigs that you have to avoid but I was not expecting to try to avoid tree roots. I ended up taking off my skis and walking almost a mile back to my car horrified by the worsening conditions I saw as I came out of the loop. Huge holes that I don't understand how anyone is supposed to ski over without snapping a ski. I hike there a lot in the summer and it looked like they were prepping the trails by rolling the ground. They lie. They did one section but not the one that was open today. I don't think the edge is bent, if it is it's slight. I'm going to a ski clinic this Sunday where there will be a vendor expo and a wax clinic. I'm going to find a tech and find out how bad this is or if they can smooth it out. I'm. Pissed. I knew I should have driven further to a place where the trail report is honest, the conditions are generally very good, and if it's not, they tell you not to come. I was planning to do some drills tomorrow at another place, will I do more damage by skiing on this? Ive been wearing press on nails for about 2 months now and i’m noticing my nails are thinning and breaking easily, and some nails have red spots underneath that are slightly tender. because if this i’m taking a much needed break to give my nails time to strengthen and grow. This is my first time wearing press ons, so Im not exactly sure of what products to use to properly care for my nails. My room mate let me borrow both the Julep Take a Breather treatment and the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails hardener, but i’m not sure which one will be better for me. I am looking for which option is better to use, as i’m hoping for my nails to heal quickly so I can do them again (and take more breaks to prevent them getting as thin as they are now). Any advice is appreciated! Thanks so much!
