2025.01.22 00:05 Sufficient_Path_7877 I just took my IUD out today after almost 20 years of hormonal BC. I’ve been having so many symptoms I’m hoping clear up, what has your experience been like after going off bc?

I’m a 35 F and finally made the decision to remove my IUD and stay off hormonal BC. I’ve been on the pill since I was 18 and then switched to the mirena iud in 2018. I’ve been experiencing body aches, swelling, bloating, brain fog like crazy, irritability, mood swings and the worst fatigue but no ability to fall asleep. And let’s not forget the 30lbs weight gain over the last 3 years I can’t lose no matter what (I life weights, do Solidcore and cardio, I live in a calorie deficit and have even tried ozempic and NOTHING budged the weight. My thyroid is fine)
Doctors have been telling me it’s not my BC because there’s no evidence linking the iud to any of these side effects. I finally found an NP today who was on my side and was happy to remove it.
If you’re willing, I’d love to hear your experience in the short and long term transitioning off hormonal BC. TIA ❤️

2025.01.22 00:05 FishNotCow Brainstorm help? I made a double sided quilt, QAYG one side. The seam from the quilted side shows through the BG fabric on the other side.

Basically, I quilted one side in quadrants, then I joined them together, then add the other side. It's Upscale Plaid pattern, it is put together in quadrants, so I planned to quilt the quadrants. Then use a serpentine stitch over the two seams.
I planned it out perfectly... until it isn't. The evidence is picture #3.
My first idea was to add a strip of BG fabric over the seam. But, it's going fray until it disappears. My second idea is to use scrap batting strips. I don't know if the serpentine stitch will be enough to secure it. My third idea was to just have it be two quilts.
I don't like the third idea because it is for my niece's baby shower. I gave her brother a double sided quilt for his baby shower. So, I have to give her an awesome quilt from her auntie.
Ideas?

I’ve been friends with this girl for almost a decade and it feels like I dont know her anymore. Around a year ago, a new student joined our class and the two immediately hit it off. I try to be liked by everyone so I introduced myself and felt that bsf and the new girl were extremely similar. They started hanging out with each other 24/7 and since I didn’t want to lose my best frI end I tagged along. While I was hanging out with those two I was excluding my other friends and kind of leaving them out. Since bsf and I share a friends group, the two who we were excluding told both of us how they felt. Bsf and I talked and decided we would be better friends to the both of the. Bsf promised to never forget about any of us and would always put us over the new girl. According to our frI end group, I kept my promise but bsf did the opposite. Bsf started only hanging out with the new girl and new girl’s friends completely forgetting about everyone else. She used to be someone I can talk to but recently she’s been making me feel like I’m dumb. She’s been making me feel like I’m only good enough to be friends with her if no one else is around. I’m a literal second place trophy. Whenever I try to vent with her she switches the focus on her. She expects me to help her 24/7 and whenever I’m struggling she won’t even listen to me. I had a panic attack and tried to talk to her and she started complaining to me about new girl not returning a hoodie she borrowed. She got mad at me one time because I said she couldn’t vent to me about missing her mom because my cat had just died, my brother had been missing from my life for 4 years, I was struggling with Sh and I was losing another close friend. She used to mean the world to me but I’m not even sure I know her anymore. Before you say that I should stop being friends with her, you need some context. The girls who she sits with are the “popular“ girls. I also sit with them so to them I am one of them, another very close friend of mine sits there to because of bsf and I. Said close friend is a follower and if bsf and I would stop being friends it would break her to have to choose. I have other friends to sit with who I am also close with but I really don’t want to close said close friend. Bsf also knows a lot of my secrets and since she’s shared them without my permisson before ( told people about me being bullied without even asking if it was ok) I’m worried she’ll tell people about my sexuality. I’m bisexual and since we live somewhere conservative, I could get shunned, kicked out of church, and lose everything. Sorry that it‘s a bit long and sorry for any grammar mistakes but, what do I do?

Partysnacks lives on the throat of the world and when i looked up the word throat in French pharynx came up and I've just realised that his name very likely means "throat of the world" using different languages and wanted to share it as i had no idea and i doubt other people knew (unless I'm just slow, mostly aiming this at English-speaking monolinguals).
I also find this quite amusing as both my xbox 360 and xbox one copy had French available (as well as English, the xbox one version also has German).

I recently finally opened up my last bottle of Albourne’s first red Pinot from back in 2018.
I was fretting about what white wine to drink with squash risotto and my wife asked “what about a light red?” So I decided this was the time.
Dry Medium plus acid. Medium minus body. Medium tannin.
Just about a touch of fruit still remaining. All red fruit, raspberry, cranberry, cherry, redcurrant.
Liquorice, anise, cinnamon, earth, mushroom.
Reminded me not of Burgundy as much as it did Jura red [blend]. For a first red wine, this was triumph that held up remarkably well with the caveat that this is subjectively my style of wine and I have a personal connection.
Great fun.

My social anxiety has been pronounced lately. I’ve always had it, but it seems worse lately. I guess it’s the stress of a new job.
But today I had an interaction with my coworkers on a group call and I’ve gone into a straight up panic attack after the fact. I honestly cannot remember what I said or didn’t say, and my mind is totally consumed with if I said a certain thing or not. If it was offensive. If everyone thinks I’m an idiot.
This is just after one exchange.
The worst thing though is the memory distortion. Does anyone get this? It feels like a confused jumble.

My friend and I have been discussing this and I'd love some opinion's and perspectives.
Suppose a vampire requires a human bodies worth of blood each night and there's no alternative or way around it. This vampire must murder each night to survive, or else lets say they'll go into a frenzy and kill someone anyways.
Suppose said vampire was just turned against their will: do they have a moral obligation to end their own life?
My friend thinks that they do because humans are intelligent creatures. He argues that despite that the vampire needs blood to continue to live, because the vampire's life depends on taking away others right to live, morally speaking, they ought to kill themselves.
What do you guys think?

Hey everyone!
I just got my lsat score and it’s a 150, and my gpa is a 2.99. I’m interested in getting into Cleveland Marshall.
I took the test when the logic games were still included. I was 9 months pregnant. And honestly, I didn’t put a lot of effort into studying because I was pregnant and just too tired. Not to mention I also have a lovely toddler and loving husband. So I honestly had a lot going on at that time.
But that was almost a year ago and I’m no longer pregnant and my pregnancy “brain” is gone. Should I retake it again? I honestly don’t know if it’s worth it or not because what if I get the same score or only raise it by a little. Also the reason I got the results today was because I was to afraid of taking the writing at that time (pregnancy anxiety).
So please let me know your advice below and your experiences.
