Hi, 34 Nb (afab), about 235lbs, 5ft9
A few days ago I was told my blood test results had high levels of triglycerides but with diet changes we should be able to get them back down.
A low carb and high fiber approach has been recommended, and I have started using the my fitness pal app to help keep track.
Looking on google, it says usually low carb would be under 130g per day. But how accurate would that be? Is it too high still? And I'm pretty sure the doctor said about 6 weeks to see changes but my memory isn't great and it may have been another number said. Does 6 weeks sound like the usual or does it seem like am I misremembering?
And wow. I had no idea carbs are in literally everything. Even my favourite tomatoes and peppers. Or at least that's how it seems š

With the inauguration and everything Trump's signed on the first and second day, I can't help but feel the US is going down the hole and a war inevitable. I do re-enacting, which means I fire guns, and I collect militaria, but I morally and ethically can't kill someone, being a conscientious objector.
What concerns me is the firearm handling and militaria collection. It gives off some pretty service-bound vibes, but that's what I don't want to do. I guess my main argument is that I know that someone on the other end of that rifle won't die because I know they're not real bullets being fired, but how likely is that to hold up at a hearing? Am I just fucked?

2025.01.22 00:08 JRP12321 Does using the integrated graphics in an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D slow the CPU down? I dont play games on the PC. Would offloading the graphics processing to a card be better for CPU performance?
I realized the 3D cpus are designed for gaming, but I have the 7950X3D cpu so am working with what I have. I only use the PC for business & streaming video. I am currently using the integrated graphics on the CPU. Would getting a separate video card (only a cheap one needed since no games played on the PC) help with the performance of the CPU? Or is the video processing with the integrated graphics not something that slows down the CPU for its CPU processing? Thanks!

2025.01.22 00:08 RideWithMeTomorrow How to maximize Lucky Charm at Fort Joy
Lucky Charm is a civil ability in DOS2 that, simply put, improves your chances of finding sweet loot in containers (boxes, barrels, chests, etc.). However, it only works the first time you open a container, so since your LC stat is low or non-existent at the start, you can't benefit from it if you start immediately diving into the first containers you'll encounter once you wash up on the shores of Fort Joy.
But if you're patientāand willing to remain under-equipped for a whileāyou can leave all those barrels untouched until you can bump your LC (which is shared between your party, so only one character needs itāand it doesn't stack, so no point in having multiple characters with it). If you then go back to them with a higher LC, tastier loot awaits.
The question is, how high can you reasonably get your LC at Fort Joy prison or on Fort Joy island? With some help from fellow users, I believe I've discovered the answer.
Characters gain civil ability points at Levels 1, 2, 6, and every four levels after that. It's probably not possible to reach level 6 at Fort Joy prison, nor is it possible to reach level 10 before leaving Fort Joy island. (But you could come back to the prison area after hitting 6 outside it.)
So before your jailbreak, that's two points into LC. You can also add the talent All Skilled Up, which gives you an extra civil ability point, for an LC of 3. After that, you'll need some items and chicanery to go higher.
There are two items obtainable in the prison that increase your LC (both by +1), and one obtainable elsewhere on the island (by +2):
- Saheila's Crest, an amulet given by the wrongly imprisoned elf Amyro after you free him from the clutches of Griff, the "camp boss."
- Magister Carin's Shield, which can be looted from her corpse. She's helping the child Tam escape at the docks beneath the main prison building, though that's not immediately clear unless you've first saved and spoken with Magister Delorus on the floor above (and even then, Carin's initial reaction will be ... tense). If you're running the purest of good-guy campaigns, though, you may be reluctant to kill her.
And the only way to have your collar removed before leaving the prison is to win a battle at the underground Arena and then ask the blacksmith Nebora to remove it for you. However, Nebora will only remove the main character's collarāshe's indifferent to all your companions.
In addition, the magister's shield requires a Constitution of 11, so your main will need to boost that stat, too. These are easy adjustments to make if you use the Gift Bag option to place a respec mirror at the Arena, but if you don't use that option, you'll need to bear all this in mind when you launch the character creation process.
Now, the chicanery. As you may know, getting drunkāoff of beer, wine, or ambrosiaāincreases your Lucky Charm by 2! But it only lasts two turns, which, when you're out of combat, is no time at all (and would be useless in combat). While you could try to drink something before you open every chest, it's hard (and ultimately expensive) to stockpile that much booze.
But there's a way to stay drunk indefinitely (ah, if only life could imitate art). Simply have your main characterāwho at this point has an LC of 5āquaff a beverage, then immediately initiate a conversation with an NPC.
(Side-note: There's one magister who wanders around the fort with a Source Hound in tow named Patrolman Kraus. If any magisters spot you without a collar on, they'll lose their shit, so probably best to find an NPC who's outside of Kraus' patrol loop.)
Then split the rest of your party off while your drunk main continues this chit-chat and send them sprinting around the island to all those treasure chests you patiently left untouched. No matter how far away they are, they will still have your main's 7 Lucky Charm boosting them.
I just did this and had LC pop seven times, throughout the Fort Joy beach and much (but not all) of the prison). I didn't touch any containers belonging to others, so if you're willing to be a thief, you could have even more luck.
Now, you could get your LC as high as 10 before leaving Fort Joy island: by adding another civil ability point at level 6, and then by obtaining the Captain's Dextrous Heels as part of the Threads of a Curse quest.
I think you'd be hard-pressed to do so without opening any containers before that point, though, because you'd be leaving the prison badly under-equipped and probably under-leveled, so I think beating Sech Zapor and his minions would be a real challenge (plus I believe you also need to obtain the Bless spell to initiate that quest).
Also, as others have pointed out, increasing LC up to level 5 improves the quality of the gear you find. After level 5, it only increases the odds of it triggering. That's still valuable! But only you can decide how worthwhile it is to grind for additional LC points just to bump up your odds a bit. My understanding is that at 5, LC will trigger 1 out of every 20 times, while at 10, it will trigger 1 out of every 15 times. In other words, you can increase its frequency from 5% of the time up to 6.7% of the time. (I'm not sure it's possible to do better.)

2025.01.22 00:08 Narrow-Incident3158 My ablation failed and Iām getting punished for it.
Two and a half years ago I had my long awaited laparascopy, I was 19 years old and I fought long and hard for it! They ablated stage 1 endometriosis in four places and inserted the Mirena. Iāve been bleeding/spotting for at least 50% of the month ever since, and this hasnāt gone away even after all this time. Iāve always said my ablation never provided any relief, Iāve simply traded symptoms for others.
Recently I got a referral to see another specialist since my symptoms have become unbearable. During my MRI they discovered small bilateral endometriomaās, a big āchunkā behind my uterus, and indicated DIE on my uterosacral ligament. I asked for an excision, and today I got the call that they denied me. Because my ablation didnāt help me, they donāt think a new surgery will benefit me in any way!
Iām only 22. Iām losing my mind, Iām in pain and Iām on my knees begging for some to just cut this shit out of me! Iāve had terrible experiences with birth control, believe me when I say Iāve tried. The Mirena was the last thing I was willing to try. Theyāve made it very clear the best they can do is prescribe me Cerazette, and thatās it.
Iām gonna try to find someone else who does give a fuck, but ugh! It has been a long seven years since Iāve started this journey and in many ways, it feels like Iām back at square one all over again.

I just got a CGM. Iām 23, not formally diagnosed with anything not even prediabetes but today I had a can of coconut water on an empty stomach and I didnāt sleep much the night before but I did not expect my glucose to reach 183. Does this mean I should look into getting some diagnosis? Is it possible for someoneās sugar to spike that high if theyāre not insulin resistant?
