2025.01.22 00:41 Kawirider2 How much did a heat pump save you a month.
For those that have change to a heat pump as a primary source of heat, (from oil or propane only) how much did your electric bill increase a month in heating season?
On the flip side, did you save money from oil or propane.
I know my situation is irrelevant but I’m asking about YOUR situation when it’s apples to apples. The only thing that would be good to know is your kWh hour you pay.
My story(I posted questions here before but I am still dwelling on in).
I’m in contract on a house with a propane boiler, indirect water heater, stove and dryer.
Current propane usage is 1150 gallons a year on the house. Cheapest propane I can find is 2.99 a gallon.
That seems like a heck of a lot of money. $3450 a year?
Let’s say I’m getting 10k from the seller as a credit. And I used to do hvac so I have connections at cost for materials. Install/labor will be me and my old boss.
What would be the best way to go about it? I’m thinking go hyper heat pump like a Mitsubishi for heat. Possible leave the propane for the stove and dryer as I heard those. Are very efficient.
My other option is put an oil burner back in and leave the indirect. Not sure how much this will save in the long run.
My boss is recommending hyper heat pump, and electric hot water heater. Oh and also, the boiler has a water to air coil rain through the air handler at the moment as well as baseboards. The current owner has the upper unit coil closed off and is using baseboards.
Is that more efficient to run the boiler as it’s a much smaller loop to push water through?
Propane is about 2.99 a gallon here, oil in my area is about 3.30 and electricity i dont fully understand how to read it but it fluctuates based on time of day. Also there’s lower rates if you use heat pumps after 300kwh.
From what I can see the max is .26 kWh but it can as low as .18 if I’m reading that right.
Some direction here would help as I’m all over the place. Thanks.

Hello, I was prescribed Sumatriptan for my migraines but I think I have a bad reaction to it - it makes me feel so heavy I can’t move and have no choice but to sleep. It makes my lungs feel heavy too and my head and sometimes the way I feel from the Sumatriptan is worse than the migraine itself. So I was just wondering would I then be likely to have a bad reaction to all Triptans and does this completely write off this method of treatment? I have obviously stopped using it now after having a bad reaction every time and I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar and if it meant a lot of other options were now out of the question too? I have a official Windows 11 iso downloaded and mounted to a 1tb ssd with Rufus. It is Formatted to ntfs and the windows to go option is selected. I have tried both mbr and gtp. I can get my pc to sort of boot from it after switching boot order in the bios but I get a screen saying it needs to be installed. I know how to draw digitally, I’m just not that good. I’m having some trouble how to draw proportions, anatomy/body structures and how to draw poses. like it’s so confusing to me … I can do it but I can’t do it without a reference or a base sketch.
with a base sketch it’s pretty easy to change the body proportions to my liking and genuinely understand the logic of how the body is drawn but I want to be able to draw poses and anatomy from scratch. any tips or anything to help me improve?

It’s been 10 years since I finished university and 12 years knowing I wanted to go into my field. I have applied to my dream organization 5 different times in decade since I left uni and this is the first time I’ve ever even gotten a first-round interview. Then they called me back for a second round interview. And then a final round with a presentation. I practiced and practiced yesterday in preparation for my interview. I remembered all my stats and not to talk too fast when I was excited.
This past decade was hard. I was the victim of a hit and run in 2018 that almost killed me and left me with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and chronic pain. I worked my ass off at recovery, and went from having to learn how to walk again to completing a half marathon. In 2021, I almost died again after getting a pulmonary embolism. I went from being a competitive athlete to back to square one again, as my lungs were permanently damaged due to the PE and long Covid. During all this, I worked thankless jobs that gave me experience in my field but physically, mentally, and emotionally wrecked me.
I knew there was a reason this organization had been put on my heart - it’s more than a job, it’s a calling. I am going to be able to help people in this job… a lot of people. And I will be able to stop merely existing and scraping by, but THRIVE. I will finally be paid what I’m worth. I just want to help people and do some good in the world and I finally made it. All the thankless work, all the blood, sweat, and tears, all the late nights, early mornings, extra trainings and education…it’s all lead up to this. I finally made it, Dad.
