2025.01.22 05:01 Nugget2450 I know no one cares but I'm chilling out for a bit
prolly gonna get some hate comments or something here but it's all good I get that people have a lot of stress right now and it's not their fault.
but yeah, I'm Canadian, I'm 16; I can't really do much about American politics. Recently I've been seeing so many posts about elon musk, trump, kamala, twitter, right wing being evil, left wing hating everything other than the left wing, reddit being an echo chamber, etc. and I've realized that there really isn't a point of me reading this shit anymore. I don't wholeheartedly agree or disagree with most of reddit, it's more for individual issues for me, but I've realized that this stuff isn't helping me in any way at all; I'm just getting irritated at things I have no control or impact over whatsoever.
I just end up doom scrolling here and there for like an hour total every day and just leaving feeling irritated. I'm a grade 11 right now - I can have a pretty solid future as an engineer if I lock in and it's going fine so far, but I wish I had more free time to spend with friends so I'm focusing on cutting this down. I've also realized that I just can't stand American politics anymore; I know it will affect me but looking at pictures of elon musk making weird faces on pics won't help me or anyone else.
so yeah. Reddit wasn't helping me so I'm making a little change. I'm blocking pretty much all the subs on my feed other than those for communities I'm genuinely interested in like lifting, computers, games, music, and college apps/school. reddit is genuinely really cool in these small communities of people who I share interests in, but the big subs are getting a bit too bloated for me to deal with.
so uh yeah.
I'll maybe edit this post with an update in a while to see what this has done. Unfortunately this sub is one of those that I'm blocking too, so yeah.

2025.01.22 05:01 vigp21 Strand Based Hair not working during gameplay
This is extremely disappointing as I just bought this game on steam to experience it on my upgraded gpu only to find out that there's a bug with the players hair physics not working during gameplay and the hair just remains glued to their heads.
this looks so damn awful that it reminds me of the ps2 games.
This bug is not present in fc24 the hair strand physics work perfectly fine during gameplay. However in fc25 the hair just remains glued during gameplay no matter what settings you have the game on.
the strand based hair physics is only present during cutscenes. EA have not addressed this since launch despite people reporting it multiple times.
This might not be a large factor for many people but this is defo something which matters big time to me as I value the visual aspects of this game more.
I've already refunded the game on steam cause of this exact reason.
Are you guys experiencing this on consoles as well?

All the rafts were fine. Partway through the print the holes started. Had just replaced the fep and it's still in perfect condition, doesn't seem like something was poking through it.

2025.01.22 05:01 Beneficial_Ball9893 Is anyone else bummed out that Hardcore will not be available on day 1?
I have never played the first game in normal mode.
I am actually a little put off by watching the KCD2 trailers and early gameplay because the existence of the health bar is very distracting to me.
I am worried I will not be able to play the game myself for weeks or months while waiting for hardcore mode to drop.

My husband got our 7 year old a kids telescope for Christmas and while she is not that into it, he has loved it using it more than her. Bring that it was an inexpensive kids one, it does not have the best resolution and is super short which is comical watching my 6-foot tall husband squat or position it on a table to use it.
I would love all y’all’s input as I really want to get him a better telescope for Valentine’s Day but there are so many I have no clue where to start. I would like to stay between $500-$700 but if there are some perks to a more expensive one that will give him a really good experience I can budget.

It's Time for an Adult Discussion of JP.
I think it's time to have an adult conversation about JP.
There's no minimizing the danger of the flat earth conspiracy. It's not a "fun" conspiracy. It's entirely based upon a total and outright rejection of basic, grade school science. Anyone promoting a viewpoint that disregards any sort of acceptance of scientific information is also helping to promote the same underlaying principles that climate change denial, vaccine conspiracies, etc, are based upon.
Science is real, and we need to remove the platforms of those who disregard the basic facts of life around us. Since JP is in a position where lots of kids follow/look up to him, that makes it especially ignorant and borderline dangerous for him to be spouting off "fun" conspiracies that teach a total disregard for any sort of science.
JP is a fun player, is one of Jerry's most successful acquisitions, had a Monster Year two years ago, and for all practical purposes is one of the currrent Faces of the Franchise, but it's time to address the elephant in the room and stop worshipping him.
His down year last year combined with the fact that 2023 was likely an outlier should already put him on the hot seat. He hit .202/.304/.321 last year with an 85 OPS+ and turns 31 in the offseason. If he gets off to a decent start next year, I'd like to see the Mariners try to flip him for a mid-level prospect or even send him packing around the globe in a mild salary dump.
