After 4 years of getting nowhere with my environmental science degree, with the closest I've gotten to a career in forest conservation is being an invasive plant remover for a small struggling business, I now have no choice but to learn a trade.
This isn't even about presidents (Biden didn't help me, Harris wouldn't have helped, & Trump surely won't), there's just almost no environmental opportunity in the Kansas City area. I type "Environmental Science" on Indeed, all I see are hospitals & big agriculture, both industries I HATE.
I've already applied to the IBEW & am waiting for them to call me. I'm not going to be very happy, but I have to start building my retirement now, & I'm tired of getting rejected because I don't have experience, because I can't get any job due to lack of experience, because I can't get any job due to lack of experience, because I can't get any job due to lack of experience, because I can't get any job due to lack of experience, [repeats forever].
My most recent rejection was a crew leader position for an invasives strike team (other candidates had more leadership experience, nevermind I have invasive removal experience & have ran my crew a few times). I've been rejected from multiple positions in conservation, road work, naturalist, & forester positions because every single available position receives a glut of candidates. So much for "people don't want to work anymore." Even a local taco joint got 80+ applicants for a minimum wage job opening.
So I'll have to join an electrician's union, who will find work for me, even if it takes a little while, at least I'll get trained & have stability. I hope I can find something in the field that might help the ecosystem (solar panels, energy efficiency, etc.).

2024 tenía una buena relación con mi novia de ese entonces y todo parecía ir bien, de la nada empezó a actuar de manera diferente conmigo, comenzó a ser fría y distante. Traté de hablar con ella referente al tema pero ella lo atribuyó a que era debido a las múltiples actividades que tenía en ese momento, lo cual anteriormente no había sido un inconveniente pero tampoco quise darle más vueltas.
Pasaron los meses y parecía que todo estaba normal hasta que volvió a pasar lo mismo, ella me decía que no me daba el tiempo necesario, a lo que yo respondía que ambos tenemos varias actividades pero podemos hacer un poco de tiempo, al final poco o mucho, es tiempo de calidad. Sin embargo, eran más argumentos para justificar algo, por lo cuál me dí cuenta de que ella quería terminar.
Ese día terminamos, un día antes había fallecido un amigo, todo esto sucedió una semana antes de mi cumpleaños.
Avance rápido a mí cumpleaños. Ella regresó con su ex, un amigo mío me ayudaba todo el tiempo y trataba de estar al pendiente. Ese amigo después fue secuestrado y falleció.
Comencé a ir al gimnasio porque mi amigo siempre me decía que hiciera un cambio positivo en mi vida. Otro siempre me recomendaba salir con su exnovia (lo cual es raro porque nadie te va a decir eso). Lo empezó a hacer porque ella y yo somos amigos y era tan insistente y yo tan desconfiado, que pensé: "Nadie, absolutamente nadie es tan insistente en que hagas algo, a no ser que la otra persona quiera que lo hagas primero para justificarse".
Tiempo después pude aceptar la perdida de mis dos amigos y con los comentarios del otro man. Tiempo después muchos de mis amigos me empezaron a decir que ese Man y mi ex andaban, lo cual no me provocaba tristeza pero si incomodidad porque no solo fueron grupos de amigos, incluso gente que ni conocía, lo cual era raro e incómodo. Así que decidí cortar relación con ese amigo.
El año terminó y pasó sin pena ni gloria, si acaso puedo decir que lo mejor de ese año es que conocí a personas que valen mucho la pena, gente en la que si puedo confiar y ahora llevo un estilo de vida más sano. Estoy saliendo con alguien y por ahora todo parece ir bien (es una persona que conozco desde hace 10 años). Dejé de fumar y retomé varias cosas que me gusta hacer.
Quiero que sepan, que a veces las situaciones son complicadas pero eventualmente mejora, es poco a poco.

I'm helping a player make Iconic Weapons for their character, and wanted to get some feedback on them from the community.
So they have 2 Iconic Items, a suit and a cape.
The suit grants benefits similar to spider-dodge and spider-sense.
The cape grants glide speed, additional limbs, reach +1, and shield 2.
So far I had the player assune that the more powers were on the Iconic items the less they got. So their rank 3 character has 2 iconic weapons and 6 other powers. Are these Iconic wrapons overpowered or am I being too strict?
