So in November we had elections for exec positions, I ran, didn’t get anything. Fair enough, I had just been initiated. I got a director role, one that made me pretty happy. I was still really burned because I graduate next spring, and this was my first and only shot at a leadership role. Then, when I finally stopped feeling self conscious about the whole thing, my big got removed from her VP position. I applied for the subsequent because a girl on EC reached out to me to do so, so I did… then I didn’t get it again. I admit, the girl who got it was really qualified, much more than I am, but I fear I’ll never have a meaningful leadership position in my college career, period. The reason I’m so concerned about this is that I want to apply for law school, and I really want my resume to look good and show what I’m capable of in terms of leadership. I already have three nonprofit internships, a fellowship, and a scholar program under my belt, but I still feel like I haven’t done and won’t be able to do enough. I want to join other clubs this semester and try for more leadership positions since many have elections in the spring, including the student council for my university’s honors college which I’m a part of, but I’m scared I’m at a point in undergrad where it’s too late for me to find the connections to do that because I bounced around so many clubs freshman and sophomore year. Help!

2025.01.22 05:08 JGdro 19M in LONDON UK, cant get any kind of work. (Questions about my job hunting approach bellow)
Ive been applying to various places, Ive changed my CV dozens of times and honestly I have (lately) had a little more traction. I had one interview but I have been looking for a job since late 2023 and well.. I'm here. Some questions bellow
- I've been applying everywhere online, I tried the in person hand in CV thing briefly but I got the answers i expected "no vacancies. apply online." Should i continue pushing in person CV applications or is it a waste of my time?
- I get a lot of spam calls, should I be answering every single call or should I more so wait for emails? (currently my number is compromised so I get a lot of awkward scams, but subconsciously i feel like i'm really making a mistake by watching my emails more than my calls.)
- am i screwed? i've been looking for work forever, my housing situation is really sketchy right now, i don't know where i will be the day of tomorrow, so im just desperate for some kind of gig. and no this isn't like a question for reassurance, if i am fucked i would gladly like to know!
- i know people just send hundreds of applications everywhere , but how strategic should i be? should i just apply to every single job that shows up, and follow up with calls to check my application status, or should i be more selective and carefully cater cover letters and CV's to a good handful of places a day instead?
- should i just join the royal marines? if nothing comes up and my housing situation gets worse should i just take a leap of faith and try get in, there i could atleast have some kind of stability. my uncle was a soldier, i dont know why thats relevant but it feels important to add.

I really want to start going to the gym or doing at home exercises but I had surgery last February on my shoulder and have VERY limited mobility. Does anyone have any exercises they recommend that don’t involve: lifting arm above head, putting weight on my shoulder, or lifting more than 10 pounds? I know this is a difficult request but I’m really struggling finding some things I can do given my low range of motion and inability to bear weight. A lot of things are out of the question like planks, pushups, crunches/situps with arms behind head, and even jumping jacks. I really need something low impact for my shoulder.
