2025.01.22 05:11 TipGlittering8352 AIO my roommate messed up a nice pan of mine
I (f 22) bought one of those really nice our place pans and I told my roommates how to use it and care for it and said repeatedly not to use it unless they take care of it properly. Well… my one roommates (m 24) used it like 3-4 times and it has scratches and clearly does not work as well for non-stick. Even my boyfriend noticed the difference and he rarely notices stuff like that. I’m not sure how to approach him about it bc technically the pan isn’t broken and I don’t want to start a problem over nothing. But… it was also $100 and was a treat I bought for myself that I wanted for a long time and intended to keep for years. I keep bringing it up in a passive way, I’ll be using it and I’ll say damn this pan doesn’t work the same anymore. I also kindly reminded him how to take care of it after I saw him burn the shit out of it. which maybe I could just be direct but I don’t really feel like talking about it. I’m exhausted of repeatedly having to set boundaries that aren’t respected and when I advocate for myself I feel embarrassed. Im just tired yk and this pan has been making me upset lol. I want him to just offer to get a new one and I know he can be kind enough to do that but idk if he isn’t taking the hint or if he’s ignoring it. I’m really tired of being the roommate that has to “confront” him on his issues.

2025.01.22 05:11 Careless-Theory1111 AIO to my bf's family reaction to his assault?
I personally don't think I'm overreacting but I also have a penchant for expecting the bare minimum from people and being wildly petty once I feel someone I care about is slighted, but let me know.
So with everything going on in the world, my boyfriend and I decided to go out to raise our moods. On our way back in the evening, a random guy, who was probably on drugs honestly, grabbed my boyfriend out of nowhere and started a fight with him. My boyfriend tried to diffuse the situation but the guy attacked first and my boyfriend fought back to defend himself. I called for help and people came to separate them and the guy got pushed back and left. All in all, we got the police involved and filed a complaint and then we spent the night in the ER to get him checked out.
So here's where my anger sets in.
My boyfriend is a really nice guy who doesn't like causing people trouble. He has two younger sisters and brother, so he's had to push down his own feelings for his siblings. The kid brother was out of the country that night. We called his parents to let them know what happened and I kept them updated on how he was doing at the hospital. He was rather shaken and concussed (hit his head during the fight pretty bad) so I let him sleep while I stayed awake. We stayed at the hospital overnight. The next day, by the time we got him seen by the doctor and home, I had updated my friends and family. My friends came immediately after to see us after we took a fat nap, and got us sorted for the next few days (food and snacks), helped us set my boyfriend up so he didn't have to do anything while he recuperated. He came out of it bad bruises, a concussion that put him on sick leave for at least a month and some cuts.
The thing is, his siblings never called or checked up on him. We explicitly asked that someone comes keep an eye on him overnight as I had to go go gather my things and also rest (I was honestly pretty shaken by the incident), but none of his sisters wanted to as itd ruin their weekend with their boyfriends. No text no call. It's been over a month and none of them called to check up on him or ask how he's doing, or come to see him. His parents, when confronted with the fact that my boyfriend was hurt by their actions, they asked him to let it slide and made excuses for them. Apparently the sisters admitted that it was a shit reason and that they're in the wrong, but they still haven't spoken to him let alone admit it to him. One of his sisters recently had the audacity to call him out on still being upset about it. His other siblings still haven't reached out to him either. By the sounds of it, his parents let it slip that he was upset at them and wanted to talk to his siblings about their lack of care for him. They also are surprised he's still upset over it.
I want to rip them and new one but we feel a little crazy at their reaction. From what I know of the family, it didn't seem like it'd be asking too much for a sibling to come and help another sibling out. At least check up on them? Not even sure what's the correct course of action except for going no contact for a while if they try to make it his fault. AIO?

2025.01.22 05:11 mettal How to determine Hifi Walker H2 firmware version for RockBox install?
I recently got a Hifi Walker H2 used from ebay. It's got micro USB so I'm fairly certain it's hardware generation 1. On the device itself, when I navigate to "System Settings > About the Player > Version" it displays "firmware version 1.0".
I was looking at the files present on the SD card while backing up my files in preparation to install RockBox, and I noticed a file that I didn't place there in the root of the SD called "version.ini". The contents of this file are "1.5.01Beta".
So I'm not sure if my device is firmware version 1.0 or 1.5.01Beta. Do I trust the firmware displayed within the device, or on this .ini file I found on the SD root? I'm not sure how to install RockBox from either of these versions as most of the posts I've come across are people installing from 1.3 or 1.5.

We are 100% one and done and are planning IVF next year. I’d love to hear from any parents who are in long term relationships - we have been together 20 years and my biggest fear is not a baby or toddler but a little person whose personality we can’t choose. It sounds terrible but like I chose my husband. He chose me. We figured out our rhythm and how to talk to each other and solve conflicts. We have the same likes/dislikes and routines. We know when the other is hangry or needs something and can fix it in a snap. We travel so well together - crammed in trains or tiny hotel rooms for weeks on end and don’t drive each other crazy. But adding a whole other person into the mix? I know I’d love our child beyond measure but like I’m terrified how they will change what we have after two decades of perfecting how we are together. A party of two becomes a party of three but we don’t know who we will get. I’m so introverted. What if we have a social butterfly? How does that change the family dynamic? Or even as our kid grows - a know it all 8 year old to a moody teenager. Getting our carefully selected furniture dirty and leaving trash and dishes out. I know part of this is teaching them but after so long we are just set in our ways I guess. And it’s scary. I guess what keeps me up at night isn’t so much a new baby but like a personality of someone we can’t pick and how it changes what we have built for the last 20 years.

I feel sorry for Europa. I only got the game a few days back so i'm still catching up on lore, but from what i've witnessed I can't help but feel bad shooting them.
From my perspective they're getting dog-piled by the rest of the world and getting their absolute shit kicked in on their home turf.
You've got the technocratic Eurasia dabbling in cybernetic monstosities dropping cyborg thralls on them day and night, I almost feel good about ending these dudes' miserable existence. Human brains encased in metal and robbed of free will.
Then you've got Euruska dabbling in biological monstrosities, playing with nature to build man-machine war hybrids void of humanity which, while looking cool, are kinda repulsive to imagine. How could you feel bad killing something so vaguely human?
And finally you have Europa. Struggling with not only poverty and famine within their own borders, but an apocalyptic forever-war aswell. They're still human, repurposing old merkava tanks and scraping together whatever modern mecha technology and strapping in to gain a solid force multiplier to keep them in the fight.
So yeah, if I could call a truce with them I would. If i'm missing something let me know, but as it stands i'm sympathetic to their plight.

2025.01.22 05:11 chIoudy Cat Keeps Meowing
Hey guys! So I have a half tabby half calico kitty and she's always been fairly talkative but lately, it's been extreme and sometimes they get very sad and low, which isn't normal. I'm getting worried at this point.
I've changed her food, water (still and got a fountain) and gave her a clean, fresh litter box and still no change. I don't know if it's loneliness or lack of attention. We are a family that's gone for a lot of the day because kids are at school and the rest at work. But she gets lots and lots of attention when we are home. I also speculate it could be heat as she is not spayed but I don't know if that's the case because she isn't exhibiting any other symptoms.
We are going to get her an amiga next week but I don't know how to make her happy before then. any advice?
