Hi, It's been about two years since I had my last checking account. I closed it because I wasn't working and pulled the rest of my money from the account. I had a basic checking account with Chase and I hated it because even though I had direct deposit my account was always under $500 due to buying groceries, bills etc. so I was getting fees from it every month which in the long run fucked me because $5 doesn't seem like that much until you look at it in the long term. I recently got a new job after being unemployed this whole time, and I plan on opening a new account this weekend. I was wondering what my best options were on different banks checking accounts, or maybe getting an account at a credit union instead. Mainly, I want somewhere where I won't get money pulled from my account if I'm under a certain limit. Maybe a bonus involved with starting a new account? I'm doing my own research as well, but am inexperienced with banking and would like opinions and tips from people who actually know what they're talking about.

I really want to become good at drawing i have been trying for the past few years on and off but ultimately always stop after a week or two.
My biggest issue right now is from what i understand is the common drawing/learning process, what i want to do is just find something i want to draw and draw it. I don't want to do a bunch of measuring (especially with tools)before or during the drawing besides just using my eyes to see how far apart something is or what angle something is compared to something else, i don't want to watch 100+ hours of youtube tutorials or read a bunch of art books (i don't mind looking things up as i go when it's needed that's fine), i don't want to use a bunch guidelines or methods before starting a drawing.I just want to look at references and draw it and improve each time doing that. Is it possible to get good like this? And by good i mean professional level. I know some people will just say just draw and have fun but for me if I'm not improving at something it's just not fun, getting good is fun for me.

2025.01.22 05:01 Nugget2450 I know no one cares but I'm chilling out for a bit
prolly gonna get some hate comments or something here but it's all good I get that people have a lot of stress right now and it's not their fault.
but yeah, I'm Canadian, I'm 16; I can't really do much about American politics. Recently I've been seeing so many posts about elon musk, trump, kamala, twitter, right wing being evil, left wing hating everything other than the left wing, reddit being an echo chamber, etc. and I've realized that there really isn't a point of me reading this shit anymore. I don't wholeheartedly agree or disagree with most of reddit, it's more for individual issues for me, but I've realized that this stuff isn't helping me in any way at all; I'm just getting irritated at things I have no control or impact over whatsoever.
I just end up doom scrolling here and there for like an hour total every day and just leaving feeling irritated. I'm a grade 11 right now - I can have a pretty solid future as an engineer if I lock in and it's going fine so far, but I wish I had more free time to spend with friends so I'm focusing on cutting this down. I've also realized that I just can't stand American politics anymore; I know it will affect me but looking at pictures of elon musk making weird faces on pics won't help me or anyone else.
so yeah. Reddit wasn't helping me so I'm making a little change. I'm blocking pretty much all the subs on my feed other than those for communities I'm genuinely interested in like lifting, computers, games, music, and college apps/school. reddit is genuinely really cool in these small communities of people who I share interests in, but the big subs are getting a bit too bloated for me to deal with.
so uh yeah.
I'll maybe edit this post with an update in a while to see what this has done. Unfortunately this sub is one of those that I'm blocking too, so yeah.
