Okay, so basically, I'm 14 and I am a dancer and a theater kid. I have dance class tomorrow, and I'm dancing in my school's production of Lion King on friday. I was going downstairs to turn my phone in to my parents (they keep my phone in their room at night) and I was wearing socks. I slipped and fell down the stairs and injured my quad and hip. It hurts to bend my leg, turn it out, touch it, and it hurts to lie down. It's really red and badly bruised. I'm icing it currently, but does anyone have any advice on how I can heal it quickly?

Yes, i am aware these words are real words and have definitions. However i think its just funny when they creep into our daily lives and are used for marketing. Their meaning is often skewed and its so cringe.

Just built my first keyboard and after two days, there is one LED that stays blue when the rest of the board is white. When the switch is removed, it becomes a lighter blue but when pressure is applied to the plate or pcb, it goes back to the darker blue. Just wondering if there might be some pressure squeezing the plate against the pcb or something. Any advice is appreciated

2025.01.22 05:02 MutinyIPO Underdiscussed narratives this year?
I was recently talking with someone about the unbelievable surge A Complete Unknown has sustained recently, both commercially and with awards, and how that was not at all a given when the film was announced. I’ve seen a good amount of chatter about the musical biopics “narrative” between Oscar seasons, with some even going as far as to apply the lessons of ACU to how Michael may or may not perform next year.
There are a gigantic number of differences between those two, of course haha, but that’s another question - it got me thinking about what year-to-year “narratives” have developed and what’s happening this time around. Something I saw come up earlier this year, but not since, is the path for something to seriously catch on with awards after skipping all festivals and debuting wide at the tail end of the year.
People forget easily, but last year the film in that predicament was The Color Purple, and the year before that it was Babylon. There were an unbelievable number of sweeping statements about how that path was dead and you need to premiere at a major festival and/or get a platform release. Even if the film made money, it could never get Oscars.
Now we know that’s not not true, not yet at least. The question mark here is Nosferatu, which I would say benefited from that path immensely, but that’s subjective.
As for some films this year that may have benefited from that strategy, as unlikely as they may seem: Dune, Nickel Boys, Challengers, Blitz, The Apprentice, Hit Man. The Fire Inside is one I almost thought of, but that’s different - it was at two major fests (TIFF/AFI) and was more broadly mismanaged by its distributor. I’m beginning to notice that too often with them.
To wrap it up - what are some narratives you’ve noticed, ones that you think deserve some more thought?

- Jody's sex addiction being triggered wide open.
- Mickey's ass getting shot by a bullet because he was robbing the mother of the doctor who ended up taking the bullet out for him.
- Carl bombing the backyard to find the buried body.
- An entire grocery store giving head to the manager and ganging up on Fiona just because she refused to do that, lol.
