My dad, 74yo, was diagnosed with autism within the last two years after experiencing pretty extreme autistic burnout.
We didn't know what was happening. His life had crumbled around him and his cognitive capability was fried.
He has spent the last two years rebuilding his life. The autism diagnosis was helpful because it gave him a place to begin investigating to understand what was happening, which then allowed him to cobble together a recovery plan.
I tried supporting him but I also didn't know how to help beyond researching resources and potential solutions, which wasn't that helpful when his ability to implement or pursue solutions was shot.
He's found a lot of useful information on YouTube and after striking out with the 4+ therapists that he tried to work with (they really didn't understand AuDHD or the respective burnouts and so their attempts at helping were more harmful because it heightened his sense of helplessness/confusion/feeling of being stuck in brokenness) he's turned to ChatGPT, which has turned out to be a pretty incredible proxy for talk therapy! He just asks it questions he would ask a therapist and it provides him with really insightful information and ideas.
Having experienced ADHD burnout myself that culminated in big health issues, I encouraged him to rest and rest and rest. Which he has. He's retired after all and has given himself way more permission to "veg out". He's also now at a place where he can plan recovery time into his weekly schedule since he has a better pulse on what uses up his spoon count.
He's incorporated a lot of things that helped him get back on his feet - turned his home into a place he can foster sensory decompression (quiet, or plays a fire on his tv, low mood lighting, bedding textures he finds soothing, colors he is calmed and comforted by, etc), incorporating sensory deprivation floats, and almost daily walks in the park by his home.
He is doing so much better, was able to take up pickle ball in July and met a wonderful woman whose been very patient with him and very invested in understanding his needs, how his brain works, and how they can collaborate to ensure that they are both getting taken care of within the relationship.
In all of this, he is still so alone in his experience. None of his friends/peers have been diagnosed with autism so he doesn't have anyone who just "gets it" that he can connect with.
Is anyone here in their 60s or older? Have you found peers to connect with? He makes comments about feeling lonely since even most late-in-lifers he's come across seem to be in their 20s-40s, which is such a different phase of life to find out. I would love to be able to connect him to some other elders that might grock the grief and questions he's still navigating.
I know it's just a show but watching Astrid and seeing the amazing community of neurodivergent friends she has makes me want something communal like that for my dad.
I also want to support him not to put all the pressure of social fulfillment on his partnership, which has been a pattern with his last few partners that often wears the relationship down. Now that we understand how his operating system works, we have talked about how building a support network around him with many people fulfilling different relationship roles would be the best way to help him maintain equitable, balanced relationships that both people can sustain.
Anyway, this is insanely long but I love my dad so much and his loneliness makes my heart ache.

I met a new coworker a few months ago and we instantly hit it off. Talking a lot about common interests and beliefs and other random things. I still don't know her favorite color or whether she is left or right handed, but I know a bunch of random facts about her and interests we share haha. I don't know for sure whether she is ENFP, but that is my best guess. I'm an INTJ for reference. Anyway, we have texted a couple of times as we've not been able to talk at work for a WHILE. But today when we worked together she wouldn't talk to me. I said hi when she came in and she just looked at me and walked away even though she said hi back to our other coworker right before that. I said random things throughout the day such as thank you whenever she gave me something I needed, which usually produces some sort of response, but today she is just acting so shy or something. Not mad at me, because we did share a smile about something and also I haven't said or done anything to make her mad. Last time we spoke was over text a couple days ago and she seemed happy to text. The time before this time, she was a bit less closed off but it was starting even then. I just don't understand it because we had a great time. I see no reason for us to have "drifted apart" (we were never really friends but I'd say we recently bonded a bit more over a few common interests and beliefs). I just don't get it. I really like her. And I never click with people as fast as we did. I don't get it. She's still nice, but won't really talk. Texts just fine still but I'm out of things to text about without trying too hard to reach out. Any advice or explanations from the ENFP community would be greatly appreciated.

2025.01.22 06:57 ea-ns How long does this take?
So I got a pixie disc a few months ago. I got a small bc I was scared and it continuously leaked. So, I got a medium bc I assumed a small wasn’t big enough as it seemed like it was leaking bc of overflow. I’ve worn the medium for 2 days now and it’s like I’m not wearing anything but a pad. I feel confident I’m putting it in right bc I mean there’s really only one place it can go. I can’t even really imagine how I’d put it in any differently. Any advice?

A trend that I have beeing seeing regarding the walls is how difficult they are to upgrade and how long the wait is for reaching the next TH. But the point is, there doesn't have to be a wait.
How I upgrade my walls is keep upgrading along with my other defences. For example, the max storage at TH13 is 18 mil. The highest costing defences are something around 11 mil. I always try to max my storages between the upgrades, and when my builder is free, I spend my 7 mil on walls and the remaining 11 mil on the defence.
Making this a practice ensures that my walls are maxed before I max my townhall. I know this is a fairly simple strategy to employ, but seeing the amout of posts and comments highlighting about the 'wait' about the walls, I felt compelled to share it.
I understand the walls are less impacting at higher THs but this was intended for those who wanted to max everything and also, love the aesthetics.

First of all big shout out to PEOPLE WHO AUTO SURRENDER DURING THE EVENT THANK YOU SO MUCH, most of us know of how hard it is considering: 1.) The game itself has a huge dependency to LUCK (coinflips, cards draw, turn order, etc.), 2.) Of getting 5 CONSECUTIVE WINS to earn the Gold badge.
Overall this might be the equivalent of a rank game in any other competitive games, and it is very frustrating tbh.
This is my winning deck (I do hope this might help):
2X Greninja (If you participated in the Venasaur drop event you should have a lot of them) 2X Frogadier 1X Froakie 2X Staryu 2X Starmie EX 2X Prof. Oak 2X X Speed 2X Pokeball 2X Sabrina 2X Misty 1X Giovanni (In case you did not get Greninja to evolve)
You can add more Giovanni/Froakie or even Potions by having to remove 1 X Speed/Giovanni but it is still good to have 2 X Speed in case you are turning Froakie into a sacrificial pawn but only have 1 energy for a Staryu. Even a fumbled Misty tails is very easy to recover since all reaching 2 Energy is easy especially by being second. (Unless of course if an Exeggutor EX is on the field).
Lastly I will be returning the favor by keep auto surrendering while participating in the event still. I hope one of my surrenders would be another step for anyone still fighting to get 5 consecutive wins.
P.S For some reason I never saw a single Electric type deck in my entire attempt which is odd considering Pikachu EX is just a basic pokemon of Starmie EX.
