When I was a kid I read a random comic focusing on Black Cat, specifically her recounting her backstory. I only vaguely recall, but the major bits were her getting assaulted by some guy, training to kill him, then him dying in a random accident and her trying to figure out what to do now

Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends, though that doesn’t excuse them from criticism. They’ve been my family away from family since I was 12 years old and we have been through quite a bit together. As we are all now 25, 26, we have basically grown up together. As of the last year, I’ve grown substantially more depressed than I ever have been before (mostly due to financial stress) and it feels like they have all given up on me. Like I said, I’m an adult and I understand it isn’t their place to constantly be checking on me, but there hasn’t been a single message to me asking if everything is okay at all. Not from a single one of them. They’re all so preoccupied with their own lives and part of me thinks they’re all a bit selfish. My one friend has two children, which should be her whole life so I understand how she doesn’t see it. Except, she flat out told me she doesn’t care about anyone else’s problems simply because there’s no way they measure up to her own problems, which as her “best” friend, felt like a really fucked up thing to say. Why would I feel like I can go to her with my problems when she makes herself feel so unavailable? And my other friend is actively cheating on her long term boyfriend due to how messed up their relationship is and she won’t leave him, my boyfriend and I even made up a bedroom for her to come live with us and she turned it down last minute and went back to her bf, and still cheats. I have lost so much respect for her and it’s really driven a wedge between us. And my last friend has never really been present or shown that she has cared ever in the slightest. I don’t know if I’m distancing myself from my depression or simply am just not in alignment with my lifelong friends anymore, and it’s really sad to think about. I feel very alone and isolated, it feels like no one really sees me or cares for me (aside from my boyfriend, who I try not to overly depend on or make my problems his). I just wonder how much worse things can get. I think eventually one of them will message me angrily and scold me for being so quiet and distant but I won’t even know what to say without turning the argument back on them. I don’t want them to be mad, I want them to be concerned. I want them to listen to me when I tell them what’s been going on in my head. Do I deserve that? Idek anymore.

2025.01.22 06:59 Sadddude HSR integrates gameplay and story poorly. What can be done to fix it?
Among the various posts and comments I've seen criticizing aspects of HSR storytelling, there seems to be one aspect I haven't seen mentioned.
*The integration of combat and progression into story sections. *
Proper integration of combat and story can elevate both aspects significantly. Think of your favorite JRPGs and action adventure games. They deliver story at regular intervals, but the bulk of your playtime is combat. This helps pace the story better so you are not sitting there for hours listening to dialogue and cutscenes, while also giving you a lot of gameplay elements to play with (gear, party comps, leveling up, skill trees, strategizing in combat, etc.)
By comparison, HSR combat in story sections is a complete afterthought. Enemies are just punching bags (at least for veteran players), and you're using the same pre-built team comps with the same gear you've already grinded for. There no strategy, no sense of progression, no diversity. In fact, Acheron is the dev-intended solution for you to skip this entirely. They know that these fights are mostly worthless, and you only get the fun parts during MoC, PF, and Apoc.
Imo this is the main reason there are so many puzzles in the story runtime. The devs know the combat is no good, so they put puzzles in to spice up the gameplay. But HSR is built on turn-based combat. It feels like such a waste to throw that away for the story runtime.
I don't have any great solutions for this. Maybe a fixed story team with story-specific geaabilities would be fun, but would cost dev time to tune and get right. Some people also would want to use their own characters and just blast through the story. What do you guys think?

I'm a sophomore and started doing DSA last year. Initially, I wasn’t very consistent (blame the chill vibes of freshman year), but I still remember the concepts pretty well. The problem arises when I open a question—I feel completely blank.
Back then, I used to spend 40+ minutes trying to figure out solutions, but I watched some YouTube videos that suggested looking at the solution after 10–15 minutes instead of wasting hours. Now, I’ve fallen into the habit of checking the solution after just 3–5 minutes, and I can’t seem to break out of this rut.
I’ve also heard people say you should maintain a notebook for DSA, noting down every question you solve. I’ve been doing that and currently have 60+ questions documented. But the issue is, I don’t know how to revise them effectively.
I really want to master DSA and problem-solving in a way where I can retain the approaches for longer. Any advice on breaking this habit, revising efficiently, and improving my problem-solving skills?

I started attending conventions and cosplaying because I like video games, anime, and comics. And it's a creative and productive hobby.
I always worried people would think it's cringey and nerdy but I was surprised at the outcome. I made some friends with the hobby.
I once went to a park dressed as edgy knight with a giant sword from a video game and I literally rode on a big white horse for some pictures to post on my Instagram.
Lots of people who were walking by stopped and asked for pictures, hugs (which was weird and random) and for my Instagram to help me get Instagram famous lol.
I also wore my cosplay/costume while traveling to the conventions and quite a few people just came up to me and talked to me and for pictures and seemed to admire me.
I always thought I needed to be a skater or something to be cool and interesting and my interests would be looked down upon.
