Hey NOLA! My husband and I won a surprise trip to Super Bowl LIX in a few weeks. We are SO pumped and want to make the most of our time. We will only be downtown for Saturday Feb. 8 in the afternoon and evening, and Sunday Feb 9 all day until the game. I have been to NOLA one time before but my husband hasn't been.
We are definitely planning on hitting up Cafe Du Monds. As far as food goes, we are looking for the best most delicious southern seafood there is downtown. Any recommendations? We don't drink so we don't need to take into account where good bars are. Just good food! And if there are any food joints that are particularly fun or have a cool atmosphere, drop the recs below!!!
We are coming from Idaho where it's always snowy and cold, so it looks like you guys have gotten a really fun blizzard (that I hope is gone when we get there!!! Haha)

I hope you're doing well. I’m planning another trip to Japan, this time from February 10th to February 26th, and I could really use some advice. I appreciate you taking the time out to consider giving me some help.
This is very late minute, but just double checking i haven't completely messed this up for my partner and need some expert advice from everyone here! All my bookings are flexible so anything can be rearranged or booked.
I visited Japan in November 2023 with my partner. We went to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, with a day trip to Nara. We absolutely adored everything about japan however upon reflection, It was a bit rushed and tourist attraction-heavy, and we’re hoping for a much more relaxed, authentic experience this time around. We want to focus more on random exploring rather than having every day scheduled to the minute.
Our itinerary is as follows:
- 10-16 February – Tokyo - exploring Fuji area, Kamakura/Enoshima
- 16-18 February – Kanazawa
- 18-19 not booked/planned
- 19-24 February – Kyoto
- 24-25 February – Hakone
- 25-26 February – Tokyo
We do have a few planned activities: the Harry Potter exhibition, TeamLab Borderless, and a day trip to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Museum.
I’d really appreciate any suggestions you might have based on my itinerary and what you’ve personally enjoyed.

So I'm pretty lukewarm to the change. In the previous system, you were fine to sustain yourself after you got a single tenant. You didn't need to explore the various other methods of making money to any serious degree.
I think the weekly pay makes sense, however the money you make and cost for upgrades hasn't been scaled to account for it. It shouldn't be a 1:1, however getting the daily pay from old versions every week instead seems too low in comparison to the cost it demands.
I believe the rent payments need a boost. Maybe 1.3-1.8 times what they are now. The daily pay made things boring, but the new system makes them too grindy
