2025.01.22 07:06 opanaooonana Could Bernie losing have potentially helped progressives in the future?
This is just some thoughts running through my head and I’m wondering everyone’s opinion. Obviously I think Bernie would have won in 2016 and 2020 but because of COVID and inflation it might have cost him a second term. We all know if Bernie won there would have been 4 years of relentless propaganda from both sides against him and if COVID or inflation were inevitable during his first term (whether it’s 16’ or 20’) then that would give the opposition all the ammo they need to blame progressives for it through no fault of his own.
Regardless of Bernie’s efforts we also know both parties would stonewall any effort he took to get his initiatives passed so combined with one of the 2 poisoned pills there is a good chance he would lose reelection. The difference now though is republicans are about to fuck up the country hopefully tanking their support and moderate dems now have 2 losses to the worst candidate ever destroying their viability in the eyes of millions who believed the whole “Biden/Hillary is the most electable” nonsense, thus leaving progressives reputation unscathed.
Now you are starting to see a lot of establishment democrats like senator Chris Murphy saying things like Bernie was right, and you saw a lot of our policy win in referendums while Democratic candidates would lose in the same state. These facts and more like it make it as obvious as possible that progressives are the right choice and that our country is literally at stake if we continue to force unpopular “electable” candidates down people’s throats.
While it’s unfortunate that Bernie isn’t 20 years younger as he would probably win in 2028, if we can get a movement going around a great candidate by then I think we have the best shot we’ve had in decades at winning and actually getting things through congress. This won’t be handed to us and we will obviously need to fight to make sure the democrats don’t do revisionist history on this last election and blame us, and it will be an uphill battle against the billionaire owned media but I’m starting to be a little more optimistic about our future.
What do you guys think?

2025.01.22 07:06 lobras I've reached a point in the game that it's more frustrating than fun
I absolutely fell in love with the game the first time I've played it, had to put it on pause for a long time but now I'm back.
I'm 10 hours in, loved most of it, but I feel aimless in every loop. The last major update was the masks and how they recover memories.
Every time I go to Dark Bramble I die. I don't know how to get on the sun station. I can't get to the elevator inside Brittle Hollow, I just get sucked into the black whole. I don't even know how the teleports work exactly. I've given up on Phantom Moon altogether.
I need some pointer without any spoilers.

I feel like a total waste all my life I was a average student. I have poor acads 6/6/7 belongs from nc obc category. Gave cat 24 as a practice and scored merely 32 percentile I know i was not serious about it but now I regret it so bad I wish I could have studied hard and got decent percentile. My family sees me as a eye sore I am done with my third year exams some 4 months ago since then they are constantly telling me that why you are sitting at home do something. After failing cat 24 they are telling me to pursue mcom but I don't have any interest in mcom. I am already 22 by the time I will complete mcom I will be 24. I have told my mom many times I will join any internship or job and will prepare simultaneously but they won't listen anything. I don't know what to do now I am too much confused.

For a third time I have the same recurring dream scenario - a woman instructs me to find a specific geographical location outside a city which I can reach by travelling far enough, "a place where everything starts to be the same outside the window". This place can be defined in such a way that there are no more people or buildings around, and the landscape around it becomes so monotonous that it cannot be distinguished from what it was a kilometer earlier. This place definetely separates limits of what we can call wilderness and city areas and there are presumably only two types of areas in the World.
First time I don't remember details but that woman appeared and I didn't really care about her advice.
Second time I started to travel but ended up in front of some sort of rock club, parked, started to interact with people there and abandoned the whole idea.
Third time I rememeber my dream very vividly. The whole communication occurs in New York. This woman stops in front of me and from her window outlines these instructions one more time. She drives a brown sedane and she is presumably mixed-race or light-skinned black. She is charming and beautiful.
She elaborates that reaching that place is "the most exciting". that she thinks I will be pleased cuz I can "stick my hand out and realize that nothing is changing" and that many people can find there one this kind of places cause there are many roads from New York.
I decided to give it a try, got in my car, and drove North West from Wall Street in order to find such a place. Gradually, there were fewer people and the buildings were getting lower, and that gives comfort to me,. but to save time, I went into the tunnel, but cars were racing through it at almost supersonic speed and I couldn't see anything outside the window because the tunnel was presumably underground. I almost lost control from the speed. At the same time, the tunnel had small exits. When I went to one of the congresses, I found myself in a small hall made of cubes.
There were other drivers and a lot of holes in the wall, and it turned out that we were very high above sea level instead of being underground, almost at the plane level. I was very scared. This fear was added by the sudden onset of an earthquake, and I was afraid that we would fall, and later it turned out that it was not an earthquake, but an attack by bandits, which scared me even more.I got in the car and drove headlong out of this exit, knowing that bandits were chasing me. I was driving so fast that I periodically rolled over and lost control, but I continued anyway. The bandits gave up on me at some point, but when the tunnel ended, I realized that I was in Los Angeles, and another city, one more time without finding a place where everything starts to be the same outside the window.
To clarify - I've never been to New York and I can't drive a car.
What could that reccuring dream signify?
