Not directly endo related but I've come across a fair few posts on here about painkillers and thought you guys would be able to help me out. I was in A&E last week for suspected appendicitis which didn't show up on the CT scan (but had every other symptom like low-grade fever, constipation, weakness) but they discovered an 'infection' somewhere in my body which they 1. can't find 2. can't treat with antibiotics because it will mask further appendicitis. Yay!
I got prescribed dexketoprofen 25mg 3x a day for 5 days, and today is my last day. The pain in my appendix area has remained the same, if not gotten worse on these painkillers and I've felt the pain everyday even when I'm on the meds.
Does dexketoprofen usually stop pain like this fully, and should I be worried that I can still feel the pain while medicated?

I have noticed that it's a very common bit of advice to make sure your food chests are out of reach of the bugs (specifically ants) as they are known to eat items even if they are within the safety of ones chest. It's mentioned in the wiki and I have seen it regurgitated here even recently.
But through out my recent Grounded gaming, I have noticed that this doesn't seem to be the case (at least not anymore). I have a farming area in the pathway to the tipped over bin next to the sandbox in which black worker ants and weevils roam free. I have chests within these farms that contain spoiled meat, rotten food and toadstool chunks and I have yet to notice any of said items going missing.
Does anyone have evidence that this still occurs? Or is more of an old bit of advice that people still hold on to even though it is no longer true?

I think my furnace has met its March at minus whatever it is outside.
Old house, well insulated. Hot water heat that's never done this before. Unit is inspected and cleaned every fall. Unit is about 5 years old.
I think it's just too damn cold right now.

2025.01.22 10:10 BeLimeLle AITA for not liking my brother's fiancée?
My brother (28m) has been dating Taylor (27f) for four years now and they got engaged a couple of months ago. Since I (24f) met Taylor there's always been something a little off about her for me. The rest of my family mostly likes her but can find her a bit annoying. I find her a little too sweet/nice to the point I don't feel it's 100% genuine. The only incident was when we met and she called me Isabelle instead of Belle and I politely told her it's just Belle and she made the comment that I was very hung up on that. My brother told her Belle is my actual name and making it longer was a bit of a sore subject because of some AH teachers at school. We all moved on from it but I know anyone who has picked up on how I feel about Taylor questions if that's the reason. But that alone would never make me not like someone. Others have made the mistake and we became friends.
I just find her too much. She's always being super nice and sweet and in a way has this very innocent way of behaving most of the time that doesn't feel so real. I can't really give a reason not to like her other than that. I just never vibed with her and there's no big list of things. I'm friendly when I see her and we did hang out a few times because I tried to like her more. But I just don't.
My family does find her annoying. She's someone who will always try to put a positive spin on things regardless of whether she's asked or involved in the conversation and sometimes they feel like she's always finding her way into private conversations. But overall they like her.
The reason this has become an issue is because one of my sisters mentioned to our brother that I clearly don't like Taylor. He got very protective of her and told me a little birdy told him I don't like Taylor. He said I have no reason to and I should try harder because she's a part of the family and she's going to be and it's not fair for someone as nice as her to not be liked when she never did anything to deserve it. Then he told me Taylor would be crushed because she's not a fan of people not liking her and to know her own SIL doesn't like her would be worse. He said I might treat her alright but one day that dislike will show clearly and that's unfair.

La dirigenza non sta facendo niente di serio e concreto per portare avanti una trattativa, che sia una non chiedo troppo. Siamo un club super storico in Italia, abbiamo tanti titoli per essere una squadra mediocre di media/bassa classifica, impegniamoci!
O si fa qualcosa, o Cairo vende. Non penso possano esistere soluzioni alternative.
Vorrei tanto poter dire che tutto questo è solo un bruttissimo incubo, il periodo più buio, ma sinceramente non avendo vissuto i tempi del Talmone Torino o ancora peggio della Serie B preferisco stare zitto, al massimo è tra i periodi più bui.

A few years ago, while I was away at university, a magazine began selling LoTR movie chess pieces. I had no idea about their existence at the time, but my dad managed to get me two of those chess pieces/characters: Theoden and Arwen. I would've really liked to have the whole set, but since it's been years, there are no more backnumbers of the magazine to be found.
