Hey folks,
There’s an RFP we’re pursuing where the contracting officer has stated that only vendors or CTA (contracting teaming arrangements) that are 100% 8(a) are allowed to bid. As I know the maximum they can obligate to be performed by an 8(a) prime is 51%, per the limitation on subcontracting clause.
Is the contracting officer even allowed to add such a clause? Have you encountered something similar before?

Well, let’s just say it wasn’t even an option—that place is like the final boss of negativity. It’s exhausting, and even though I’d been managing it for years, I had to ask myself: Is this really worth my emotional energy anymore?
The truth is, we’re absorbing all this negativity, division, and stress without even realizing how much it’s impacting our emotional health. I used to tell myself I could handle it—that I needed to stay informed, that social media was necessary to stay connected. But at some point, the cost outweighed the benefit. It wasn’t just about my mental health anymore—it was about protecting my ability to think clearly, feel deeply, and prioritize what actually matters.
I’ve decided to use other platforms instead, ones that feel more intentional. Places like Reddit, where it’s easier to filter out the noise and decide what to engage with, or BlueSky—the new "Twitter" that hasn’t gotten too chaotic yet. While Reddit isn’t perfect, it feels more manageable, and BlueSky offers a fresh start. Honestly, stepping away from the toxic overload and choosing these spaces has been a much healthier choice for me.
Our emotional health is just as important as our physical health, but we don’t always treat it that way. Social media chips away at our emotional intelligence, our ability to think critically, and even our self-worth. Taking a step back made me realize how much space I was giving to things that didn’t deserve it. Now, I’m focusing on what’s real—the connections, the conversations, and the clarity that comes when you’re not constantly bombarded by the chaos.

I Caitlyn, (F 18)met this girl, Pearl (F 18), in 2021. I liked her since 2021 and admitted my feelings for her, but she never seemed to say if she liked me back, so I took the initiative to move on from it. I got into a 1 1/2 year-long relationship, and I still thought about this girl 24/7 and still talked to her basically every day non-stop.
Fast forward to this summer, I cut contact off with my ex, and then the girl is fully back in the picture. We would call all night, staying up with each other and falling asleep on the phone. It felt good. It felt so good. I missed her, and my feelings never went away. A few weeks later, college starts up, and I go see her. We hang out, we laugh, but then she says she doesn’t really know how she feels about me, and it kind of hurt my feelings.
I was like, "Okay," and moved past it. I still went to go see her about a week or two later, but this time I ended up staying the night with her and her roommate. We had a couple of drinks, laughed, and we started holding hands. I thought to myself maybe because she’s intoxicated, she doesn’t know, but she got up to use the bathroom, came back, and grabbed my hand herself. When her roommate fell asleep, we were just on the floor talking, and I get in her bed, tell her to get in with me, and she does. She lays down, but not directly next to me, just a few inches below me. I end up playing with her hair and asking her how she feels about me and telling her how I feel about her, and I basically got the same answer. We fell asleep together on the bed, but the next morning she was on the floor, maybe because she didn’t want her roommate to know.
I left her dorm, went back to school. A week or two later again, I go see her. We party, go back to her dorm with her and her roommate. Her roommate leaves for a little bit. We are laying on the floor, but this time I’m laying on her stomach. Oh, there was also a time she told me to come over because her roommate wasn’t there, and we just watched a movie. But anyways, I asked her again. This time, I get a different answer. She’s scared to be with me because of how I was still in contact with my ex while I was still in her life. I was like, "Okay, that makes sense. We don’t have to jump into a relationship right now, but I just wanna know where we stand." Then we talk about boundaries, and she mentioned the night I came over and didn’t do anything, and I expressed that I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable or cross a line. We set boundaries.
Her roommate came back. We got in the bed, and my hand's on her thigh (I’m nervous asf), and then we talk, and then it’s time to go to sleep, and WE CUDDLED. Like, it was so cute. I was so happy.
A week or two later, I go over there again. This time, we went to the movie theater. I paid for her tickets and all, had a great time at the movies, and then I left to my school. Then November comes by. There was this one night I went to see her, but she fell asleep on me even though I told her prior to that I was coming, and she was okay with it. It made me so sad I started getting distant from her. But a week or two later, I still went to go see her because I missed her. We didn’t talk much. I just enjoyed her presence. I fell asleep in her bed. Her roommate came back, and I had to go back to my dorm because I had things to do. Mind you, I’m spending $50–$80 every time I go see her.
December comes by. We barely talk because I get distant, but she didn’t bother to ask why or if I was okay, and it kinda hurt. Towards the end of December, she blocked me out of nowhere on all platforms, and I was heartbroken. It’s a month later. I still think about her, and I don’t know what to do. Do you think she actually liked me or there’s a chance she’d break no contact?

Like the title states, I’m a casual player so I only play a few times a week for max 1-3 hours (3 hours on one of the days if I’m lucky) due to work commitments and a busy social life.
