my money was invested in a pension fund over 20 years, and assuming an conservative average return of 5% per year, a £10,000 sum would grow to £26,532.
Over the last 20 years, if my money had been invested solely in physical gold, the £10,000 investment would have increased 889% and it would be worth £98,900.
Why would someone favour a "basic" pension over the long term given gold's historic trend? What am I missing, other than the physical inconvenience and security issues of holding large amounts of metal?

I recently completed the Primal Hunter series, which currently has 11 books, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The series was a smooth read, and I really appreciated its pacing and world-building. Now, I'm on the hunt for my next LitRPG adventure.
So far, I've been recommended the following titles:

- He Who Fights With Monsters
- Dungeon Crawler Carl (specifically the audiobook)
- The Path of Ascension

Basically, it would be a system where, by scanning a book's ISBN, it automatically gets added to a Notion database with details like the title, author, category (productivity, history, fiction, etc.), and whether I want to read it, am currently reading it, or have already read it. It could also include an option to search for the book on Amazon or other stores to check its price.
Does this sound useful to you? Would you use it in your daily life?

2025.01.22 12:55 zeromix0000 I’m 18 and I want to stop wetting the bed, any tips to minimize accidents?
I'm not sure of any of lifestyle habits of mine that may cause bedwetting, I think it may be genetic because my uncle and father also struggled with teen bedwetting and I've done so my whole life. I'm a heavy sleeper, don't drink caffeine, pee frequently through the day, and I avoid eating/drinking hours before bed.
As a child I actually used to have accidents in the daytime and the last time was when I was 12, thankfully. But the bedwetting is really humiliating and tedious to constantly clean and I don't want to continue this into college.
I went to a doctor once about it at 12, and he said I have an abnormally small and overactive bladder. He also said it's underdeveloped and that at 12 I essentially had the bladder function of someone half my age. What does this mean and what can I do about this?
If it adds any context, I had an abnormal puberty as well due to hormonal and development issues. I wonder if a hormonal issue affected the development of my pelvic muscles and led to them being extremely weak.
I can't tell when Im going to pee, can't feel it, and cant stop/hold it either. I just have to take periodic breaks to pee to make sure I don't have a future accident, but it still happens at night.
If anyone knows any possible causes besides mentioned above please share, but mostly if anyone has any solutions or plans of action or would be appreciated 💀

Hallo Gemeinde! Folgende Situation: ich hab immer mal hobbymässig fotografiert, mich nicht viel damit auseinander gesetzt und geknipst sowie bearbeitet wie ich dachte. Dabei auch zwei/drei mal eine Freundin fotografiert, deren Tiere etc. Mit einer Sony Alpha 6000. Die Kamera habe ich leider nicht mehr (5 Finger Rabatt in Amsterdam). Nun fragt mich besagte Freundin, ob ich sie zu ihrer Hochzeit im Juni mit der Kamera begleite. Sie stehen auf Alternativen Kram und lieben den Gedanken, dass eine gute Freundin die Fotos gemacht hat (an der Stelle: sie weiß, dass ich sowas noch nie gemacht habe). Was würdet ihr mir für eine Kamera empfehlen? Die Bilder sollen sicher mal auf Leinwand oder größer gedruckt werden, was muss ich beachten, damit die Qualität stimmt? Wo kann man Kameras mal zum Testen mieten? Wenn ich mir eine anschaffe, dann will ich auch 100% zufrieden sein damit. Habt ihr sonst irgendwelche Tipps für mich? Ist natürlich erstmal alles sehr unspezifisch, aber vielleicht habt ihr ja trotzdem ein paar gute Impulse.
