im soo sorry i had to post here, stack overflow is extremely toxic and blocked my ip for asking questions, i have a script named test1.js and it includes addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded",myfunc)
it works fine... but i have another script named test2.js trying to load
addEventListener("click",myfunc)
the second script does not run unless i remove the , what am i missing?

Hi everyone,
I'm quite active in the German-language community, both online and offline. I have a background in linguistics, but in all honestly, it's been quite a few years, and I'm hesitant to even mention it because I'm very out of the loop when it comes to the recent academic discourse.
There is one topic that inevitably arises during longer conversations with non-native students of German, almost like a mandate; transitivity and the directness of objects.
I realise that we all look at grammar through the lenses of both our own upbringing, native languages, academic education, and other experiences. But I have yet to be convinced that there is any merit to applying the aforementioned concepts to German.
Language learning shouldn't ever be done encyclopaedically but with the goal (of improving the student's language abilities) in mind. Everything else is the study of linguistics; an academic pastime. So what does the grammatical concept of transitivity really do for a student?
- It more than likely doesn't help make the student aware of the fundamental grammatical difference between object cases, because he would need to be aware of those to even understand this concept profoundly. Otherwise, he might incorrectly identify two-valency verbs that require a DAT-object as direct ('folgen', 'vergeben', 'gratulieren'). Because it is possible to build a passive construction with the latter; it's just impossible to make the Patiens the subject of the passive clause; something that is beyond the ability of an intermediate student having trouble with cases to recognise. In any case, this entire line of thought is highly impractical and bears no relevance to day-to-day speaking.
- It only helps deconstructing sentences. Because transitivity is a phenomenon of verbs realised in any concrete sentence; the same verb might or might not be transitive in any given sentence.
- It doesn't further comprehension. For a student with little or no concept of the case system, the distinction offers almost 0 help when it comes to semantics, particularly because verbs can also take DAT or even GEN objects as their only object (valency two).
- It doesn't abet better speaking patterns. Even correctly understood, it is far too arcane a concept to actually help with formulating sentences in real-time nor is the information sufficient to construct a correct verb construction, because you will STILL need the cases the object can take: werf- AKK (PREP)
I'm very welcome for anyone to change my mind. I simply don't see any merit to even explain this concept to students of German until university level linguistics. Nor do I understand why so many language programs insist on fist-feeding this concept to anyone first chance they get.
