2025.01.22 16:05 Tiny_Assistance_3038 Regtest wallet for students?

I seek a wallet that doesn't download the entire BTC blockchain (Blockstream Green for example?) & connect to my local Regtest server.
I teach an introductory hands-on class using Testnet3 BTC. Students bring their smart phones & we send each other testnet BTC (=tBTC). But I run out of tBTC because of transaction fees.
If I can teach it using Regtest I could simply generate my own Regtest BTC & never worry about supply again.
How to do this, esp. architecturally? Do I need to install some kind of Electrum or Electrum Personal Server? or?
Also I'm having trouble finding an Android/Iphone wallet that works w/ Regtest...?
Has anyone ever done this?
Any advice welcome please.

2025.01.22 16:05 SeanEXE Evolv X2 AIO Compatibility Question

Big fan of the Evolv X2! I have a quick question about compatibility. I prefer to use an AIO with a screen. Unfortunately, Phanteks doesn't currently offer one. The Phanteks Glacier One M25G2 AIO radiator is 27mm tall. If I use a different AIO with a screen that has a radiator that is 30mm tall while using the M25 G2 fans, will the fans still have the flush look on the top panel or will they stick out a bit?

2025.01.22 16:05 Plenty-Operation-328 plague bearer with automation have dps ?

Hello everyone. I noticed that Plaguebearer works with Automation by continuously activating/deactivating.
I'm playing a Venom Gyre / Whirling Blades build. I've noticed that with the proper supports I can get my incubation value up to max in 0.5 sec.
The only question I have now is: does continuous activation/deactivation by Automation give Plague Bearer time to do the damage Aoe ?
Yours sincerely, Vaenaroth

2025.01.22 16:05 Bill_Israel NFL draft: Cam Skattebo

This running back class is pretty deep and I would love to see the Bears grab this guy in the 3rd round. I think him and swift would compliment each other very well. He reminds me of David Montgomery with his build (5’11 215lbs), vision, and contact balance. One of the major downsides I see is that he’s had over 700 college carries. But if he splits carries with Swift where each guy is getting 10-15 touches a game I think we can keep him healthy for a long time.
A Quick Look at his senior season stats:
1,711 rushing yards (5.8 ypc) 21 rushing touchdowns 45 receptions 605 receiving yards 3 receiving touchdowns
Not to mention he took 30 carries for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns, and 8 catches for 99 yards against a really good Texas defense in the CFB playoffs. That was all behind an outmatched Arizona st offensive line.
Obviously we need to address the trenches first, but I think this guy would be great value with pick 72. We need a between the tackles runner.

2025.01.22 16:05 Brienzah Good Fire Protection Companies?

I’ve been in the fire protection industry(passive) for almost 10 years. I worked for a well known and well established company for 7+ years and some smaller firms in recent years. A lot of companies seem to be hiring with the new year. I’ve read some reviews on the ones who are currently hiring, though there isn’t many to read, but from what I can gather a lot of them seem to have the same problems/cons that were in my previous employers work places. Is there anyone on here that has experience with any fire protection companies that can provide me with some information? Any guidance or knowledge is appreciated, I’m really looking forward to getting on board with the right company and don’t want to make the same previous mistakes.

2025.01.22 16:05 BeMo_Experts Med School Advising

Why did I use med school advising? Because applying to medical school is absolutely overwhelming.
Between researching school requirements, writing the perfect personal statement, and preparing for interviews, it’s hard to know where to start. Med school advising was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Find out how it helped me avoid mistakes, save time, and get accepted.
Are you worried about getting into med school? See how medical school application help can get you accepted!
My Story When I first started my med school applications, I was completely lost. My GPA wasn’t bad (3.65), and my MCAT score was solid (513), but I wasn’t sure how I stacked up against other applicants. To make things worse, my extracurriculars felt scattered—volunteering, shadowing, and a part-time retail job.
I spent weeks creating a spreadsheet of school requirements, trying to make sense of it all. I tracked GPA and MCAT cutoffs, prerequisite courses, tuition costs, and mission statements. My goal was to figure out where I’d be a strong candidate, and I prioritized schools with GPA and MCAT ranges that matched mine. But I felt like I might be overlooking programs that were a good fit for me. The more I analyzed my list, the less confident I became.
When writing my personal statement, I had no idea what admissions committees wanted. I focused only on experiences I thought sounded impressive, like shadowing and volunteering. I completely ignored my retail job because I assumed it didn’t matter. I rewrote my draft several times and wasted weeks trying to make my story fit what I thought they wanted.
After a few sleepless nights and far too many Reddit threads, I realized I couldn’t do it alone. That’s when I decided to invest in med school advising—and it completely changed my approach.
How Med School Advising Turned Things Around 1. A Clear, Focused Plan: My advisor helped narrow my school list to programs aligned with my GPA, MCAT, and experiences. I had no idea that aligning my experiences with a school’s preferences could be a strategic advantage! They even suggested schools I had skipped over that matched my strengths. Without their help, I would have wasted money applying to schools where I didn’t meet the criteria or missed out on programs where I was a strong candidate.
2. A Stronger Narrative: One of the biggest ways my advisor helped was by tying my experiences into a cohesive story and ensuring it carried through my entire application. I’d dismissed my retail job as irrelevant, but they showed me how it demonstrated key skills like communication and leadership. I used my retail experience to show how those skills would translate to patient care and collaboration in a medical setting.
We carried this narrative into my secondary essays, aligning it with each school’s mission. By the end, my application felt more focused and intentional, clearly reflecting who I was and why I belonged in medicine.
3. Essay Support: My advisor pushed me to move beyond generic statements and focus on specific moments that showed my passion for medicine—something I hadn’t been able to do on my own. Together, we identified some impactful experiences, like when I supported a scared patient during a shadowing experience. Then, they helped me articulate why those moments inspired me to pursue medicine.
For my secondary essays, they gave me a better understanding of what each school was looking for. They showed me how to tailor my answers to highlight how my values matched each program’s mission. They also helped me spot patterns in the prompts so I could reuse parts of my strongest essays when it made sense.
Fresh eyes and expert editing skills made all the difference. My advisor caught gaps in my storytelling, rephrased clunky sentences, and helped me refine my tone to sound professional and authentic. Their feedback turned my essays into polished pieces that I never could have achieved alone.
4. Avoiding Costly Mistakes: I didn’t realize how much timing mattered in the application process. Without my advisor’s guidance, I would’ve submitted applications later than I should have, which can hurt your chances. They kept me on track with a clear timeline and made sure I didn’t miss any important details.
5. Interview Preparation: I was terrified of interviews, but the mock interviews my advisor set up taught me so much. They didn’t just point out things like talking too fast or over-explaining; they taught me strategies to help me think on my feet and answer questions in a way that felt natural and highlighted my strengths.
What Would’ve Happened Without Med School Advising? Looking back, I know I made the right choice getting help because without it, some big mistakes were almost inevitable:

Ultimately, I would have faced the stress, time, and expense of reapplying in the next cycle—a scenario I was relieved to avoid. Instead, I was thrilled to receive acceptances from two medical schools!
Is Med School Advising Right for Everyone? Not necessarily. If you’re super organized and comfortable figuring things out on your own, you might not need it. But advising can make a huge difference if you feel overwhelmed, unsure how to present your experiences, or worried about missing something important.
Working with a medical school advisor does cost money, but it’s an investment in your future. If you’re feeling stuck, it’s worth considering. For me, it saved time, reduced stress, and helped me get accepted to medical school. I also learned a lot that will help me when it comes time to apply for residency positions.
No matter where you are in your premed journey, medical school application help can take you from being overwhelmed to accepting offers. Book a FREE strategy call today!

2025.01.22 16:05 awwshitGents Mark Uyeda will hold SEC Chair office until Paul Atkins officially assumes the position later this year

Mark Uyeda will hold SEC Chair office until Paul Atkins officially assumes the position later this year The initiative will “draw from talented staff across the agency,” and specifically work for the development of the asset class, helping the Commission to “draw clear regulatory lines, provide realistic paths to registration, craft sensible disclosure frameworks, and deploy enforcement resources judiciously”.
The initiative has been introduced by Mark Uyeda who was appointed acting SEC chair earlier this week by the new US administration, while commissioner Hester Peirce will lead the task force.
The key factor is set to be clarity around who should register and, importantly, how. As part of the crypto task force, the SEC is set to hold roundtables for market participants.
“This undertaking will take time, patience, and much hard work. It will succeed only if the task force has input from a wide range of investors, industry participants, academics, and other interested parties,” said Peirce.
“We look forward to working hand-in-hand with the public to foster a regulatory environment that protects investors, facilitates capital formation, fosters market integrity, and supports innovation.”

Mark Uyeda was appointed acting chair of the SEC on 21 January by the new US administration. Speaking about his temporary role, he highlighted the important role the position plays in “promoting innovation, jobs creation, and the American Dream”.
He added: “I am honoured to serve in this capacity after serving as a Commissioner since 2022, and a member of the staff since 2006. I have great respect for the knowledge, expertise, and experience of the agency and its people.”
Paul Atkins was named chair of the US SEC following confirmation of Gary Gensler’s departure back in December 2023.
Atkins was initially appointed by President George W. Bush as a commissioner of the SEC on 29 July 2002, where he served until August 2008.
Uyeda will hold this office until Atkins officially assumes the position later this year.
