2025.01.22 13:56 Opposite_Classroom39 Advice for new owner of m18 powered Short throw (Pex & Copper) pipe fitting press?
 | I recently acquired a m18 pipe fitting crimper for the mountain of jobs i have before me this year and on its first day out it worked ok about 75 percent of the time but it didn't always make a proper compression joint. M18 version I obtained on a sale. Any advice on getting better results? Some of the issue seems to be a very slight disparity between the fittings I used and the existing pipe I was adding on to. I didn't have authorization to strip out all of the defective piping that was part of the problem. It didn't always press fully, for the cost of the tool that seemed unacceptable, its still new so I'm willing to see if its just a user error thing or not.
The owner of the building did a lot of half-a--ed repairs, I only came in as a favor to fix it for the tenant. The hot water line from the tank was flooding the house from a defective PEX connection. It seems to be fixed and holding fine now, but I trust none of the stuff installed by the owner. If you have a lot of time with these tools, let me know what tricks or tips you have for better or reliable results. Maybe you all have some better quality PEX fittings you like to use for potable water stuff, I just grabbed what seemed like the most reputable fitting part I could find quickly locally. I'm not a plumber but I have to do about 90 percent of my own contracting for my home and I have had to do various side jobs in the past on construction sites, so I have a mish-mash of general knowledge about homes and learn as I go when needed. This year I have to gut parts of my house and fix areas that were not really done correctly or to my standards. Hi, this is my first time posting here. I’m in my mid 30s and wanting to return to the ice after several years off. As a bit of my background - I stopped progressing around the age of 25 and was doing doubles at the time. I continued for a few more years doing competitive adult synchro. I’ve since moved countries (from the US to the UK) and interested in starting to take some UK skating tests. I want to buy a new boot/blade combo that doesn’t limit me but I’m also not sure what I’ll accomplish at my age either. I’d ideally also like to join another synchro team in the near future so I am only going to purchase white skates. I previously had a pair of Jackson Elites and Pattern 99s. The Jackson elites were always a bit stiff for me but I had them for many many years and got used to them. I won’t have the benefit of skating every day now to break in my new skates the same way. So I’m wondering if it’s a bad idea now to boot down and get something like the Jackson Début? Jackson’s always worked best for my wide feet but I also feel behind in boot technology so maybe there are other brands that might suite me better now? Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

 | So I just ended watching Middle Aged Gamer's review on the GHK V3 and VFC V3 AR15s. It looks like GHK has really stepped up their game and it looks like they're on par with VFC. I know QC is one of their biggest issues, although this mainly seems to be a problem with their AK line. I've been looking for a good GBBR M4A1 for quite a while and actually I was waiting for VFC to release one, but after watching the review, I tend to lean more towards GHK.. After some research I was able to find A GHK V3 M4A1, but I'm not sure if the build quality as good their other V3 products. For example: they don't seem to be cerakoted.. some websites also say it's a 2023 version. Afair GHK released their V3 series in 2024.. Hey fam, I just started dipping my toes into the job hunt after working at my company for 4 years. I’m looking mostly at Senior UX/Product design roles and thought..why not try out LinkedIn Premium? This way I get to see more analytics into a job I’m applying for.
I was astonished to see that several roles, albeit most often the remote ones, have 500-1000 applicants within the first few days. I heard the job market is tough right now, and I’ve heard our industry has been “flooded with bootcamp grads” for the last 6 years since I graduated from one.
But I’m curious how many of these applicants meet most or all of the qualifications for these senior roles? Are there seriously 500+ applicants I’m competing with for most jobs I see on LinkedIn?
Or are these jobs being flooded with applicants that don’t have the experience, and I might actually have a chance to interview?
I had no idea there were so many Senior UXers that were competing for so few roles.
