 | Hi everyone. We recently bought a house with this brand new heat pump installed. House is 1400sq ft built in 1988. Outside temp. has been around 18-20F and the heat pump has been struggling to maintain an indoor temp. of 64F, running almost constantly. Air coming out of vents is only around 77F max. Does this seem low? Is this unit undersized? Home seems to be insulated well based on a quick scan with a thermal camera, not sure what’s going on. 2025.01.22 14:59 Plenty-Bluejay8362 AITA for breaking up with my boyfriend after he said he can't be in my son's life long term?
First post- I actually made this account just so I could ask this question so if you can get through the whole thing thank you! My (32f) boyfriend (40m) and I have been together for 7 months and we have an extremely close connection. Nothing like either of us have experienced before... We were instantly like best friends and have the best spicy sleep of my life pretty much at least once a day. Emotionally, physically, spiritually/religiously, politically. We both have kids from previous relationships and our kids have taken to each other like siblings. Some senseless fighting but they want to be together everyday- ride bikes together, do art projects, play the same videogames together. His girls absolutely love me and have asked me to adopt them and want to sleep over at my house all the time or want us over there all the time. My boys are the same way about counting down to when we can do sleepovers together. We see them and do dinner together literally every single night and spend about 3 nights a week together. During the holidays we spent two weeks at a time together and we've gone on weekend camp trips. The thing is my youngest is very medically complex and autistic. He wasn't expected to make it to his first birthday and he's about to turn four. He looks and acts more like a 1.5 year old. He has had multiple surgeries, the most intense being heart and airway, and he has a continuous feeding tube. He has many deformities- skeletal/brain/heart/GI and is in pain much of the time. Pile on the level 3 autism and his inability to speak and he spends a lot of time when he's not feeling well screaming. We've worked with therapists and such (OT, speech, PT, ABA) but he hates therapists and it seems to make things worse. It's just a really hard point in like at the moment until he matures enough to learn to use a communication device. The first few years of his life he didn't sleep at all- he'd just scream, puke and diarrhea pretty much all night every night. Last year he was finally put on a medication that helps him sleep (took quite a few tries to find something) and it's much better now. I do have to give him a second dose in the middle of the night though. My ex husband stopped paying child support in August, I'm still waiting for approval for social security disability for my son and I have completely gone through my savings. We moved to Texas for the heart surgeons at TCH but the support here for families like ours is non existent. We're on all the wait lists for support but it's a 4-6 year wait just for in home healthcare so that I could work. Because of the circumstances I have been considering moving across the country to move in with family. Texas attorney general is working on the child support stuff. My ex husband is a wealthy business owner and he chooses not to see or support us- not that he's unable. So depending on what happens with that I might be able to stay but it's been a slow process and at this point I can't afford to renew my lease at the end of next month- I'm literally down to nothing. My boyfriend is very financially comfortable and has a big house. I never wanted to put him in the position of asking if we could live there but when I started talking about moving back home. We were both upset about the idea of separating. After a few days he said that if it was just me and my healthy boys he would take us in and raise them as his own and that he's absolutely in love with everything about me but he can't see a long term future with my medically complex son. He said if we want to move in temporarily while we figure things to be able to stay here out we are welcome but he doesn't think it would be fair to his girls to bring my complex son into their lives permanently. He's too much. This absolutely broke me. His girls LOVE my boy. They dote all over him, pack him around, play with him. They absolutely love them and he loves them too. He is very picky about the people he likes and he immediately loved my boyfriend and let him hold him and actually goes to him because he wants him. He is actually the first person he's loved like that other than myself. My son is difficult... The financial and physical burden is a lot and there are are a lot of appointments and planning whenever we do anything because of his continuous feed and the variety of medications he gets throughout the day. So I do understand and I don't blame my boyfriend. But my little guy loves my boyfriend, all the kids, his toys, music, car rides, being on the go in his stroller. So his life isn't just completely miserable or meaningless. I told my boyfriend that if he really feels that way we need to break up because I'm not interested in emotionally pouring into someone that I don't have a future with. He wants to just keep seeing how it goes and refuses to accept that I've broken up with him. He's accepting that I'm staying away from him but he is still sending sweet texts and trying to check in throughout the day.. asking me to come over and telling me how much he misses me and loves me. It's a lot to move kids across the country. Especially in the middle of winter with a bunch of medical supplies and special needs. So in my opinion I need to grieve what we had and focus on th future- which he is obviously not going to be in long term per his own feelings. But he's making me feel like I should just carry on like we were knowing this information. I can't because everytime I look at him now I know this has an expiration date and it breaks my heart- especially since theres nothing I can do about it and I feel a huge amount of guilt about my son and how much he has affected my other boys lives (something my boyfriend pointed out) and resentment since his medical issues are the reason can't work or have any positive outlook towards the future. He is not expected to have a long life and he is in pain much of the time so we do spend a lot of time comforting and catering to him and I feel even more guilt for the resentment I feel knowing what a hard short life he has/will have. I don't understand why my boyfriend expects me to stay with him knowing we don't have a future though. He's claiming I broke up with him because he shared his concerns and was honest. But I don't think anyone would want to stay with someone they were head over heels in love with knowing there was no long term future.

I feel like I’m cursed.
My S22 Ultra has had a green line across the display ever since a late November 2024 update. Now this January, I’m seeing a white strip in the top-left corner that only disappears when I turn off 120Hz mode.
To make matters worse, my mobile data keeps switching on and off whenever I’m outside. I’ve already switched carriers twice and even moved from a physical SIM to an e-SIM, but nothing fixes it. I keep having to toggle airplane mode on and off until I get a stable connection.
I absolotely love the device and got it sent for repair twice already. Just wanted to share and see if anyone else is dealing with all of this at the same time.

The Megrez structure appears to have trapped a larger pool than we expected. "We will require extensive further work to map their extent and assess the best flow testing strategy. Slightly tweaking my Fugue for my Rappa. I had her at 178 speed at first, but with RM that becomes 188. That's a bit too high for a 157 speed Rappa, lol. So not sure if I'll go with option 1 with 166 speed or option 2 with 158 speed. 1 speed faster would be exactly speed tuned for Rappa. (Thief set on Rappa so I never run out of ulting. Thief set for Fugue, since she'll be E2 on her rerun.)
