For a couple of Valentines Day adjacent games I have edited video rounds that I call Kiss or Miss.
I show a clip from a movie right up to the moment where the lips are about to touch then freeze frame. Teams must guess (or remember if they’ve seen it) if the characters kiss or if something stops them at the last moment.
Having done this twice, I am running low on scenes where characters ‘miss.’ Can you suggest any misses I can use. Sharing a link to a clip of it would be great too. Thanks.

I feel like I can't breath This country is choking me. I can't keep my head above the hatred. I'm cornered. Do I keep screaming? Defending myself? Yelling how I'm in danger and I need someone to care, to help me? Can't they see me gasping for air?
It's sitting on my chest. It's taking my voice from me. It's sucking the air straight out of my lungs. My heart is pounding, blood racing, I'm flailing, I'm screaming.
"You're really just going to let us drown like this?" Us, the disabled and sick? Us, the LGBTQIA+? Us, the women who believe women are more than just birth vessels?
They watch, safely, from a ship that was made of lies. They tell us to just swim harder. They choose not to choke on the waters of truth like the rest of us now have to.
They don't realize it yet, but they will be the next ones to be thrown overboard.
There is always someone else to be thrown overboard in a ship that is fueled by hatred.

 | Normally I don’t cough much anymore since being on my mod. Unless I’m sick. I been coughing up really nasty stuff for the last 10 days. Feeling like crap! Already took keflex - no improvement. So my Dr had me do a sputum culture as this is the second time in 2 months this has happened. First time keflex worked. Well I did my sputum at the outpatient lab at the hospital closest to me (both are part of UPMC) last Wednesday and have been checking everyday to see what’s going on so I can get on some meds. Well today I get this crap as my results. Now I have to wait another week to get my results and meds. I’m feeling super frustrated and defeated. 😞 I know I’m lucky to have a Mod that works. Hey there, fellow book people.
I'm a solitary reader in an area where reading isn't a common hobby. Deciding to be vulnerable on the internet feels a bit risky but here goes -- I feel really isolated in my reading life. I know I can't be the only person who feels this way, who enjoys the introspective opportunities books provide, but would like slightly more personal book-related connection.
I've been thinking about what to do about this and it seems putting myself out there is a good, nerve-wracking, option. To see if any of you want to chat about books and, if we vibe after chatting, maybe eventually do a Zoom call or Facetime? Though if that makes you uncomfortable, we can absolutely skip it.

I lean heavily on literary non-fiction, biographies, history, and poetry (I don't end up reading a lot of complete poem collections but I do read a poem every morning and before bed). I read books outside of these categories occasionally.
The genres I don't tend to read are romance, romantasy, and YA. I'm light on thrillers, spy novels, mysteries, and fantasy.
3 of the books I’ve read this January: Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride, Andromeda by Therese Bowman, and Poet, Mystic, Widow, Wife: The Extraordinary Lives of Medieval Women by Hetta Howes.
Books I’m currently reading: We Do Not Part by Han Kang, A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon, and The Last Honest Man: The CIA, the FBI, the Mafia, and the Kennedys—and One Senator’s Fight to Save Democracy by James Risen.
I recently signed up for Aardvark, Book of the Month, and the Books are Magic Book Club for poetry. If you’re subscribed to any of these boxes, we could have a fun chat about that.
In the past, before I developed Lupus and when I lived elsewhere, I went to in-person book clubs and was complimented on my ability to ask good questions about the book we were reading. So, that’s a positive when chatting with me. Unless my anxiety is real and the compliment meant nothing and everyone hates me.
It may be helpful for me to include some biographical details in case that would help some folks feel at ease chatting: I'm a 35 year old white female who is committed to reading diversely.
I’d like to surround myself with thoughtful book people to help weather the stressful 4 years in the US to come. Love to hear from anyone interested.

Hi all,
As mentioned, my wife and I will be travelling with our 3 year old and 1 year old. We're spending the first 10 days around Bangkok and the north then have about 15 days to do some islands. We're looking for something with enough convivences for our young children - but don't want to do the big resorts. I've backpack there many years ago (2009) and just kind of landed and haggled over prices - but I don't really want to be doing that with fussy kiddos.
We were thinking Samui and going down to Phuket, but not sure if 7 days in each is too much. Any recommendations on islands / place to stay that's not to resort-y but would be great for young kiddos is appreciated.

Insert something about cloud dependency and how it means that product dies the moment a service goes down. And also something about editing your blog posts and acting like we all made that up. I seriously hope you guys are taking notes and will learn from this. But even if you do, youve already showed us that we cant take anything for granted and thats what sucks. Cant really undo what youve done without changing the terms of sale yet again. Why does everything have to suck god damnit, i really thought we had something here.

Hello, does any of you know what happened here ? Screen randomly got these burn patterns, after turning it off it just won't turn on again.
When plugged to a tv via HDMI the PC does appear, does that mean the screen just went and fried ?
Any idea if I can fix it myself and what might have caused it ?

2025.01.22 19:23 Mattiarav Game breaks in precisely one field at one corner
I’ve played the calmsden farm for about 3 and a half hours, while I was harvesting the small wheat field that you need to purchase which is ready to harvest when you start up the map my game just freezes. I’ve tried going back to a previous save file but at the exact same moment the game still freezes and I need to shut it down. Is this a known issue or is it my game? Haven’t tried other maps but when I opened the old save file I played for 45 minutes with no issues at all, but when I got to the same part it froze on the exact same spot. How could I check if it’s one of my mods that does this? What do I have to look out for in the game files? Thank you

The sub is filled with transphobes. The most hostile stuff imaginable isn’t removed. There are whole posts telling trans people that recent US laws arent bad and to just turn off the news. Other posts telling trans americans they cant just flee bc of our “feelings” and that we have to offer the countries something. Comments laughing at trans women being sex slaves in US prisons. The advice is not helpful, the sub is not friendly. There are a handful of good people, but mostly it’s like going to a family holiday event with a conservative family where if you try to talk about how any of the issues plaguing us you get gaslit about how none of its real and its all in your head.
Genuinely, do not go for your own mental health unless you want a “German Jew looks for help fleeing 1930s Germany” simulator.
I keep seeing trans people post there and being brigaded with unhelpful comments. I think the mods have also given up trying to stop it bc the stuff being posted/commented there is really heinous at this point.
