2025.01.22 22:02 Spuriousantics I don’t know how I’ll know the difference between my regular mental health struggles and peri
I’ve struggled with my mental health most of my life, stemming in part from childhood trauma. With therapy and meds for depression, anxiety, and ADHD, I’m doing good for me—which is still not great. So many of the mental health symptoms of peri are things I’ve experienced for decades—trouble concentrating, trouble sleeping, anxiety, depression, fatigue, etc. In addition, I’ve had trouble with headaches and nausea most of my life as well.
My periods are still regular, and I am on the lookout for things getting worse and for the non-mental health symptoms. But at 40, I can’t help but wonder if some of my ongoing struggles are already being made worse by peri. I have a great PCP, but I don’t know how she’d respond to me requesting HT without any specific new symptoms. (I don’t currently have a gyno, but I do have a recommendation for a HT-friendly practice.)
Any recommendations/guidance/wisdom on how to navigate peri in this situation?

I did buy a monitor capacitor kit about 10 years ago and some new coin mechanics but it was working flawlessly until the other day.
The machine resides in my basement and is only powered on for about 6 hours at a time, every three months or so when we have parties at the house. It has not been moved in years, and is in a perfectly clean and temperature and humidity controlled place. (It sits next to several old IGT slot machines that also have been there for MANY years and function properly with little maintenance).
I turned it on the other day, and during power up, the game hard locks on the initial splash screen (when the title screen and title music would usually come on).
I turned it off and turned it back on and went into TEST mode. All tests pass with flying colors (including the sound and music sections), but when I exit the menu and the game proceeds to the initial title screen, the game hard locks before the music starts (not always at EXACTLY the same spot, but ALWAYS within 1-2 seconds of the title screen animation and ALWAYS before the title music can be heard).
I wonder if this is a memory issue I cannot fix or if it MIGHT be a power supply related issue and don’t want to start dumping money into it until I get some feedback…
Any help is appreciated! Without any help, I guess I would try and replace the main power supply but I’m not sure exactly what to get - I suppose I would remove the power supply it currently uses (which looks aftermarket), and replace with something similar…

 | I was trying to get Claude to help me locate the cause of an error, first it gave me 3 artifacts as a response and told me to add that code, run it again and provide the output, so Claude could better locate the cause. All 3 artifacts contained the exact same code in them. I added it (once) ran the script (powershell) and pasted the output for Claude. No matter what Claude responds with 2 artifacts containing the exact same code again. I have been researching for a new build for worksation/gaming the past 2 months...
I need to find a good RAM kit 96GB (2x48GB), 6000MHz, CL32 or CL30. No need for flashy RGB or tall RAM as I will be using an air cpu cooler.
Initially I wanted to go with Corsair Vengeance EXO (CMK96GX5M2B6000Z30), but I cannot find it in my country (Romania), only the XMP option (had a chat with corsair support and told me the XMP version on AMD might not even boot)... I have read that the corsair online shop is bad and they do not deliver on time etc...
I am open to suggestions on other brands like G.skill or Kingston.
I am so tired with researching for parts... last time when I built a PC it was less complicated... not XMP, EXPO etc...

Hello! Any Crocs lover here? I usually wear a size 3, and they fit me well, but I recently grabbed a pair of Mega Crush Crocs, and they’re a bit too tight across the top due to my high instep. I don’t need a ton of extra room, just enough to make them comfortable.

Alr gang, now that I’ve seen Grace and Eloise’s imitation pieces, it’s got me thinking.
So I feel like Grace and Eloise have a sort of parallel going on. During her free time Eloise talks about how in fencing if your opponent forfeits it counts as a victory, and that’s how she rose to the top, essentially, she did so without having to outright win too many fights, although that’s not to say she isn’t skilled, as she did still train.
Grace, on the other hand, is in a field dominated by mostly old men, and if I remember correctly, which I might not be, she mentions in the prologue about having to fight her way to the top, likely whole facing discrimination from any opponent she’s had to face.
So this brings me to their imitation pieces, Eloise’s shows her running from something/someone, which I would guess is a version of herself, as every other character’s imitation piece has featured at least one different version of themself, yet you can’t see it in Eloise’s. Meanwhile Grace’s imitation piece shows several different versions of Grace, ranging from happy to steadily more angry.
I think their parallel might further build itself as we learn more about them and who they were in their respective pasts. I think Eloise may have been a cold and violent person, similar to Grace, when she was younger, but during a match, she hurt someone. And because Eloise hurt someone, probably pretty badly, people stopped accepting any challenges she sent out, now afraid of her. With that being the case, the more timid personality we see from her might be a result of her seeing what she did to this person, and becoming afraid of her violent side, so she covers it up. I don’t think Eloise being shy is a total ploy, but I do think her lack of confidence might be because of this.
Now as for Grace, I think she was probably decently upbeat and easygoing when she started out. Her imitation piece showing her progression into being as angry and aggressive as she is, each version or Grace shown in the image from a different part of her life, gradually getting angrier with each one. Assuming Grace wasn’t so aggressive from the get go, she probably had to force herself to become like that, as a defense against any discrimination she faced as an outlier in her field, she probably dealt with a lot of shit, and being feared is better than being pushed around, she became worse than the people that messed with her.
This idea even works with their animal motifs. Swans are known for being elegant and pretty, but if you’ve ever dealt with a swan, you’d know that those guys are aggressive little bastards. And rabbits, although also known to be aggressive, tend to be pretty chill once they trust someone, which is probably part of the reason people have pet rabbits and not pet swans, lmao.
This is probably kinda stupid tbh, but it’s just a thought, and I’m curious to see what anyone else thinks.

I want to expand my current Python script to be accessible from my mobile device in the hopes of consolidating some apps I use into a self hosted option. My thought was to host something in docker. I am just not sure what language or module to use. I have some experience with Python and I have worked on a Django project. I hate CSS....just saying. Getting the web components to do shit drives me up a wall. Essentially I have a bunch of APIs I pull data from and stick in a MariaDB. I need to front end this data with charting and analytics.
In addition, I would like to look into creating a sort of button box to track things. Currently I am using Nomie for this. I would like to create a to do tracker with notifications if possible. I am guessing I have to go the website route since I am not doing Android dev. Security will be something I don't know too much about but if I am exposing it to the internet I need it secure. I was looking a Streamlit but not sure on the authentication part. Is Flask enough or do I have to go full bore on Django?? I guess I could learn Javascript but I have not had much luck learning React on past projects. I would say I am a half-ass dev. All self taught so I don't know the ins and out of CPU interaction and the high technical bits. I can generally mash keys until I get things that work. Are the correct??? well.... There are too many options and I don't know what to look for. I need a direction on where to take project so it is actually usable.
