I am planning a trip to London with a friend in early May for 16 days. We are both highly particular about hotels, and our dollar (Canadian dollar) is currently very weak compared to the British pound (about $1.80 CAD to £1 GPB).
Many hotels in central London don't seem to have two beds, or the rooms with two beds are much more expensive. To save money and ensure the room is a decent size with two beds, we're considering staying at the Renaissance Hotel at Heathrow. This would be about a 45 minute-1 hour commute into the city each day. The room would be £123 per night, including breakfast for two, so £1,972.00 GBP, or $3,485.96 CAD, total for the trip.
Google Maps shows that there's a bus line a two minute walk from the hotel that will take us to the Elizabeth line and from there into Central London. This would cost between £5-£6 each way for each of us (bus fare + tube fare).
Does this make sense to do? Our itinerary is all over the city; we have one day planned at the Tower of London, one day for St. Paul's/Shakespeare's Globe, two days in Covent Garden, three days in Westminster, one day in Camden Town, one day in Notting Hill/Kensington, and one day in Canary Wharf. We are also planning to do one day at Windsor Castle, one day at Hampton Court, one day at Hever Castle, and one day at the Harry Potter Studio Tour. And we are planning to see probably 5-6 West End shows.
We figured that given that our itinerary is all over the city, we'd end up on transit a lot anyway, and the amount of travel time we'd save staying more centrally would not be proportionate to the increased cost (likely close to double the cost, given how particular we are about hotels and that we want the extra space). We are also Marriott Titanium members and therefore usually receive very good service and sometimes upgrades from Marriotts (including Renaissance properties), especially internationally; the Renaissance also has a club lounge we'd have access to with food, snacks, and drinks.
We'd prefer to stay at a Marriott brand hotel, but the Marriotts located more centrally are either double the price or extremely small (we were looking at the Moxy in Stratford, but it's £40 more and doesn't even have a wardrobe for us to hang clothes, which for a 16 day trip would not be ideal).
Does it make sense to stay at the Renaissance Heathrow given these circumstances? Our only concern is that we might be quite tired after a long day and getting back on the tube to the hotel, especially if we're seeing shows that don't finish until 10:30 or so. We wouldn't get back to the hotel until 11:30 or later in that case, and we don't want to be tired throughout our trip.

I got my AW9 for Christmas. I love it. It has been tracking my workouts, steps, sleep and activity like a boss. That is until yesterday. Now it is constantly registering exercise minutes. I had to reset my iPhone 12 yesterday due to my microphone not working on phone calls. It didn’t solve the problem. But ever since then, it is like the sensitivity on my AW9 has been turned all the way up. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

2025.01.22 22:04 Legitimate_Way7941 Any advice about how to split an egg shaped body in half with an irregular zigzag pattern so that the "cuts" all emanate from the center point?
I want the finished product to look like a cracked egg, but when I cut the body from a single sketch the cut faces go from the "front" to the "back" of the body, so from the "left" and "right" the resulting cuts are not realistic. I'm sure there is a simple solution to this, but it is beyond my IQ. Any help would be great. Thanks.

This guy sualyem has a different guffaw or scandal every week and this newest one, regarding serious championship consequences for swearing such as points deductions and even race bans, just seems so utterly ridiculous to me that I find myself thinking back to when a different FIA head was in charge and seemed to have a similar reign of terror on racing.
Now, I’m American, and my familial roots as a sports fan is basketball. I know in the league they curse all the time and in many very creative ways over everything under the sun. On the court, in the interviews, in the press conferences, whenever, wherever. Hardly, ever does it become an issue to any real degree greater than a fine, it gets bleeped out, we all move on and keep enjoying the sport.
Basketball is one of the biggest sports in the world, so this fascination with stamping out what has never been a problem either in Motorsports, really only happening with any frequency with specific people and often when things are going wrong and the excitement for a particular race can reach its highest peaks.
So I’m left to wonder, what gives? Most drivers across all FIA regulated sports are reasonably well behaved. Sponsors and Fans are flocking to top level racing unlike anything seen in years. Things are incredibly bright. So why is an issue being made out of thin air? Worse, Sulayem seems to be particularly waging this war with F1 rather than other disciplines. So what’s the issue? Did Briatore do something when he crashed that Renault back in the day?

Hello,
Has anyone experienced their Nissan Leaf not going into drive or reverse?
This cold morning I went out and turned on my defrost while still plugged into 110v charger. 15 min later I went out, unplugged the car and attempted to drive, but am now getting a Electric vehicle system warning light and the Ready to Drive light is off.
I have checked the charge on the 12v battery, (12.52v) and investigated the terminals and fuses on the positive terminal and all is good. The battery in the key fob is at 3.1v. My next thought was that it must be something simple like the sensor for the brake pedal, but the brake lights come on when the pedal is depressed.
Does anyone have any ideas? recommendations?

I got automatically placed back into plat 2 in mp1 but I want to restart from bronze so I can complete the milestones, I’ve tried disconnecting from races but it hasn’t dropped my ranking. I did this over 7 times in a row and nothing has changed for some reason. Any of u guys know how to fix this lol
Btw I only used 1 car in plat last season to reach LL cuz my account is new so I can’t grind in plat, I have to do it in the lower leagues.
