2025.01.22 22:59 No_Sir_7126 2016 ram 1500 ecodiesel - momentary battery flicker?
Hey all
Just wondering what might have caused this.
It's been cold where I'm at the last three days but I've been doing a ton of driving without an issue.
Today on the Hwy at 100kmph, after about 30 minutes of highway driving, I took my foot off the accelerator for a moment as I was getting ready to merge onto the off ramp lane and the engine stalled as it had shut off for a fraction of a second then suddenly the power came back.
The red battery light came on for a flicker while the power cut.
No codes were fired.
Truck drove fine to my destination with no further issue, and starts without an issue.
Battery is original to the truck (crazy right?)
Terminal connections are tight, alternator connections are tight, and belt is in good shape.
I'm wondering if this might have been a cold weather related issue, a battery health related issue, or a sign of something bigger.
160,000km, no major engine repairs have been needed. Tires have been changed a few times, exhaust had a leak that melted the DEF injector two years ago but has been repaired. EGR was replaced once too. Brake discs, pads, and calipers have been replaced at least once each.
Regular oil changes at recommended interval with manufacturer oil done at a proper shop (no quickie lubes) or done myself (former diesel engine mechanic).
Note: I have put the manufacturer provided winter grille cover on and have had it on since weather dropped to sub zero temperatures. Top two slots are open and bottom two slots are closed.

2025.01.22 22:59 DelightfulPete Sony Theatre Bar 8 + SW3 sub. Underwhelming?
Has anyone had this setup and found something to be off about it? My prior soundbar was a cheap $100 2.1 sub and bar combo which honestly sounded more tight and had overall more constant and full bass. Obviously the soundbar delivers a much more crisp and detailed performance, but it almost seems inconsistent at times. It's very hard to put my finger on as I'm admittingly not much of an audiophile. It's like the bass doesn't really have a constant presence and only kicks in at times where there's deep bass. I only spent $500 on the soundbar and sub together, so I don't think I'm going to return it. I'm just at kind of a loss as to how my previous much cheaper and smaller setup sounded better to my ears overall than this does.

So instead of overseeing just painting projects I would be overseeing all trades. Right now I manage all estimates, manpower, change orders, issues clients etc. Basically an entire job from start to finish. I primarily handle only commercial projects. Never any residential. This new co oany I am going to it would deal primarily with residential construction. Question is, what things should I be focusing on starting out to help my transition from PM of commercial paint to PM of residential general construction? What advise would you recommend? TYIA

I had just recently purchased NOW Internet's 200 mbps plan and was looking to install the XB3 Gateway that arrived today, but to no avail. No matter what, the "Online" light, which I assume confirms your connection to Xfinity, never turned on. I even tried 2 different coax outlets.
A technician is already scheduled to appear tomorrow, but if possible I still want to know what went wrong myself. A live chat agent said my outlets probably weren't "activated." But how would they even become deactivated? No one in the house has touched the Cable Box outside the house before. Could it have been our previous ISP, AT&T? But even then - our Internet with them was DSL Internet via a phone line, not cable...
I've no doubt the Technician will be able to identify the issue with ease, but I was just wondering if maybe I could too with your inputs.

 | This is one of the first "sipper" rums I bought so it holds a bit of nostalgia. Hopefully that won't create too much bias in this revisit. When I first saw this in the local supermarket, I was shocked. Ireland isn't known for having great stock of anything, so this felt special at the time considering my wife is Venezuelan and I never usually see products from that country here. However, with a €40 price tag (the cheapest I can see from googling around the country), it was a tough buy, but I got it regardless. Now, with a different palate compared to back then, it's on to the tasting... The nose: It smells decent enough. It's obviously sweet due to the small dosage, but it's also got some fruitiness to it and a nice slight barrel influence. The mouth: The flavour feels alright. Not bursting, but it's there. Sweet with a nice woody character. Very mild spice as well. The finish: Has a very short burn. Flavour survives for a short while, but not long enough to allow the taste to hang around. Final thoughts: While not the most exciting rum, it definitely is a nice little sipper. It's not too sweet when compared with the Reserva Exclusiva, and does hold a small amount of character. Fortunately, nostalgia didn't come into play here and I'm not nearly as impressed with it as I once was. I somehow feel that the beginner crowd or those into sweeter rums might not find this as good as the Reserva Exclusiva and that's fair enough. Being aware that this bottle can go for considerably less than €40 elsewhere, I would still recommend giving it a go if you're at an early stage of your rum journey.
