Hi guys
Really need some advice from a tax person around how to be more efficient.
I am full time employed PAYE in the UK.
This financial year 24/25 I would have earned over the £120k mark due to a one off bonus equity payment.
Now this might sound good but I am absolutely getting shafted in taxes seeing nearly half of my pay check go to the tax man. I have lost my £12k personal allowance and anything over is at the higher rate.
Also I have a baby on the way with my partner next year and conscious I will lose any free child care allowance and child benefit due to my salary level which is £100k including bonus.
So my question is to those in PAYE at similar salary level or anyone in tax industry... what can I do to be more tax efficient and lose less money to the government.
I was thinking pension contributions but would need quite a but to take me down. Also my company offers a company car scheme (Tusker) which has a tax benefit as deducted from gross earning.
Any other options?

Hello!! I'm taking my first Disney Cruise on the Magic in May!! I've only cruised once and caught the bug, and I knew I had to hit a Disney Cruise.
Palo: Which do you prefer in terms of offerings and quality - brunch or dinner?
Palo vs Main Dining: I'm thinking if we do a Palo dinner, we'll skip Lumiere's. Any opinions on the best/worst main dining?
Senses Spa: What are your thoughts on the services? Do the services include spa/rainforest room access? Does it seem worth it? Are there any tips for discounts or cheaper services?
Upselling: How intense is the upselling on ship? I went on my first cruise last year, Carnival 4-night, and I was not prepared for the aggressive upselling everywhere. They really pressure you after the spa services, pressured upselling when we toured the spa, and just around the ship in general there would occasionally be a table set up with someone trying to sell you something. I'm not sure if that was normal for cruising or just normal for a more budget line like Carnival.
Port Days: it seems the consensus is to say on ship at Nassau (I'm only planning to hop off to grab my Starbucks Bahamas mug lol). For Castaway Cay and Lighthouse, what activities do you think are must-dos? We're planning on snorkeling at Castaway (is there a bingo for all the hidden treasures??)
Fun DCL Stuff: I'm the person that brings 5 Loungeflys and 6 ears and matching outfits on my WDW vacations. I'm all in on the kitsch. I'm planning on putting a Pirate outfit together for the cruise, and I'm gonna buy a bunch of door magnets. Any other tips for quirky things people like to do on Disney cruises?

Today I did a general "what will the next few weeks be like" and tried to apply it to things that are going on in my life this month. I have no idea how to interpret it.
Whenever I do readings about day to day stuff I get really stumped and don't know how to apply it to my current situation. When I do spreads that are much more deep and have no timeline, I get a lot out of them.

- Preferably in USA, but not a hard requirement if you are willing to relocate

- Feminine - you like to be the least like a man as possible in appearance and behavior
- Christian to some degree or open to become a Christ follower
- Puts most importance in who a person is compared to their circumstances
- Younger than me (18+ obviously)
- In physical shape - you don't have to be a super model, but it is very important to me that you take care of your body so that you can be healthy.
- Take care of your appearance - I wish for us to be physically attracted to each other, so you should dress decently and not look like a slob.
- Have similar hobbies or at least some hobbies in common so that way we have something we can bond over and do regularly.
- Personality-wise, please be humble and meek. I do not get along well with people who are judgmental or presumptuous.
- Good communication skills. A relationship is difficult, and a marriage even more, so it is important that we can talk to each other clearly and work out any differences in a calm manner.
- Would want to meet in person eventually in the future and not just have only online contact

As a piano teacher, I recently had a student who quit because she wanted to improve as a pianist, but she didn’t want to put in the effort to study classical piano pieces. I told her that modern pieces like pop arrangements aren’t good for studying things like finger technique and articulation, all very important aspects of well rounded piano technique.
The thing is everyone wants to improve as a pianist but the work that goes into developing finger technique means you have to put in many hours studying classical pieces. How does one (especially adult students or hobbyists) get the motivation?

We are happy and is thinking about trying for a baby soon well after we got the house FIL AND SIL keeps coming over and making a mess also telling us what we can and can't do in our house. FIL makes me feel uncomfortable cause he makes perverted comments to me ( I can not say it on here ) it gets worse when he drinks and SIL she is rude as hell she would make comments on my size (I am I plus size girl) or she would point out that my fiances ex is so much prettier than me that I'm a ugly weirdo that needs to off myself... I been looking past all that trying to keep the peace but the tried to kiss my snake I have a pet snake his name is Mac he is beautiful well I keep him in my room so no one can say anything cause ik some are scared of snakes ....I came in the house cause FIL and SIL was inside for a while when I found them they were in my room FIL had Mac and SIL had a knife.. you can guess what they were doing .. I flipped out and screamed at them and told them to leave but they argued saying it's not my house so they don't have to .... they will only leave if Mike told them to .. I screamed again and told them the house was in my name and if they don't leave I'm calling the cops ..they finally left my fiance said he will support and decision I make and I want to make sure they never set foot on my property again ......
Oh almost forgot they are also telling my son who is 7 years old that he was adopted and I'm not his real mommy and that is a lie ...... so AITA

36, female, rarely drinks alcohol, every day vapes, former cigarette smoker.
In March of last year I had a perforated ulcer and an experimental laparotomy. The weeks leading up to it I was experiencing dull pain on my left upper quadrant, right under my rib cage. I had a endoscopy in July and it was clear and I was sent on my happy way with a prescription for pantoprazole.
I ran out of pantoprazole about 2 weeks ago and have been taking Zantac. My insurance decided not to cover it anymore and I can’t afford it out of pocket.
About a week ago the pain started in the same place, it’s a dull pain like before. I came down with a cold about the same time the pain started. I did a home test for COVID and flu A&B, all negative. I’m still sick though, along with the pain.
Am I overreacting? Could the pain be related to whatever cold I can’t seem to shake? Should I call the GI doctor?
