I'm looking for a used minivan with a budget of about 5k. I'm looking for reliability above all else. This will be a car I will drive very long distances and be living in parts of the year.
I've heard Siennas are the top of the line for reliability, but they are also much more expensive used than any other minivan. (probably because of their good reputation).
In my budget I could get a used sienna from 2003with around 160k miles on it or a much newer, less miled van from another maker. For example for a similar price I found a 2004 Mazda MPV with only 97k miles, or a 2001 Dodge caravan with 130k miles.
I guess I'm wondering if the reliably of the Toyota makes up for another 20-50k miles on it. Is it better to get a lower miles but less reliable van or a higher miled trusted van?

2025.01.22 23:12 sarmeg01 Advice: Monstera Deliciosa and Thai Constellation
I’ve had the deliciosa for almost a year now and it has stopped putting out new leaves. It used to put one out every other week.
I got the Thai constellation in November and it was putting out the leaf in the middle and hasn’t put out another one.
I only water them occasionally when the dirt feels dry and fertilize them each time. I just repotted them with a chunkier soil to see if that helped but no progress yet.
Both are under a large 6x6 ft skylight by a wall of windows/doors as seen in the second image.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! TYIA!

2025.01.22 23:12 Dead_pixel97 Start sooner or later?
Hey y’all. Just wanna hear some feedback on my situation. I’m 23 and I’ve enrolled into my local community college to get my A&P. The fork in my path now is either to start in April, or wait and start in August.
I know most will automatically think that starting sooner is best always but here’s why I think starting a bit later will benefit me more.
If I were to start in April, I would have maybe ~$3k saved up entirely at that point to put into school/books/tools. That’s okay. The schooling is cheap because i’m a resident and will still be in the green while in school. But it’s very little money to fall back on incase things go south. Not that I see it going south but I’ve always prepared for the worst.
If I were to start in August, I would be able to save money for an extra 4 months bringing my (assumed) savings closer to ~$11k. It also gives me the opportunity to find a possible entry level position at my local airport in the meantime and gain at least some relative experience. (I’ve worked retail for 4 years) I’ve done the math and starting in August puts me at graduation in early 2028 if all goes as it should and I’ll be 26 and a half. Basically i’ll graduate after the holiday slow down and (hopefully) be able to find a job soon after graduating.
What do you guys think? I’m thinking waiting the extra 4 months is worth it. Sure sooner might be better to get to my goal sooner but realistically August makes more sense to me with everything i’ve factored in. But i’m open to hear your guys’ thoughts.

I just started my CFI training in Mesa, AZ. For context, I've spent the last three years working through my ratings as well as college classes for my associates degree. I've been paying for flight training as I go by working in the aviation department at a highschool trade prep school. I've worked as an aide and I have also taught entire classes. I never fully enjoyed teaching, but I just chalked it up to me not wanting to work at this trade school. I've worked so hard and made a lot of sacrifices to get where I'm at and I've always looked forward to the day that I would start CFI training.
Well, I did my first briefing and I'm feeling super overwhelmed. The lesson plans and outlines are daunting and my brain can't seem to figure out how to keep everything on track. I'm also getting this feeling that I haven't had in any of my other training. It's a feeling like I'm not actually meant for this. I've had ups and downs in my training for sure, but nothing like how I'm feeling right now. And I've barely even started! I'm lost and I don't know if I should just try and push through it or drop this semester and reevaluate. Does anyone have any advice?

2025.01.22 23:12 topbillin1 I don't understand why I can ever get an IT job.
I'm guessing age (50) and lack of quality experience combined with low wage past jobs (security guard, mail clerk) is just the main issue. I don't know why I can't get hired, I have a bs and it does nothing at all. I guess it seems like I'm just too old and wasted too much time.
None of my certifications literally do anything, A+, never got a tech job, CCNA never got a job, nothing at all.
I thought about leaving the low wage jobs off the resume, but nothing works, maybe it's the location (Florida) or maybe I need to look into factory work somewhere else.

2025.01.22 23:12 Dull_Mathematician_4 GW update - things are looking better
This is just a short and hopeful update for anyone who might be doom scrolling on here but it’s been over two months since I started treating my GW and there has been a great improvement. Just for a general timeline I noticed the GW mid November and then a week later did cryotherapy. About a week after doing cryo I had more pop up, hit them withh cryo again and then immediately starting using imiquimod. I’m on week 7 of imiquimod and most of the GW are gone. I have about two little bumps that have appeared, but I’m not sure if those or are more GW or just irritation from the imiquimod. I have a follow up appt next month to see if I need to continue to do a full 16 weeks of treatment or not.
The hardest thing about this whole situation is the mental toll (me beating myself up over it) when I was first diagnosed, but after seeking some mental help and starting to treat the GW, things have gotten a lot better. I want people who are in a bad place to know that things will be okay and will time they’ll get better. Be patient, be kind to yourself, confide in someone you trust, and everything will be okay.

2025.01.22 23:12 DesolatedVeins Broke up with this girl I was dating
Sorry for the long post everyone, im still processing. I broke up with someone I was dating for the last 4 months as I was just getting strung along. Im Aussie-Pakistani, she is Chinese that studied college in the States (neither of us are religious). She only lived here for 2 years, and hates this country. I was thinking of moving overseas too, as long as its a rational move (I dont hate my country, this is my home).
We met through a dating app, for the first month I wasn't that emotionally invested. We were having sex and it was good. She appeared to be caring, had cooked for me (which made me like her a lot), however, she was emotionally inconsistent from the start. She doesn't acknowledge my effort in planning the dates too, she always had to take control and would only do things that she liked to do. Sometimes, she would back out of the date because she is feeling "overwhelmed", but later on I would find out that she was still dating other people in that early phase.
After a month and a half, I asked her if this is casual or what because there is too much emotions at play, and she is already acting like my girlfriend. She goes no no it's not casual, she's thinking if we should go serious. Then she said she's dating me exclusively and not seeing other guys, except for another one whom she is thinking of ending. I'm not controlling or anything, so I say okay. Also, I think my perception is pretty strong, and I figured there was someone else because she had accidentally sent a message to the wrong chat. But instead of coming clean at the time, she tried to cover her tracks. There were a couple of red flags that I had noticed in the 6 weeks, the first was that she had said "It is so easy to lie.", and the second when she said that she was the toxic person in her past relationships. I kept these as mental notes to observe in the future.
Three months in, now she stopped being caring, she would cancel the picnic dates where she used to cook for me. However, she would expect me to be emotionally available for her. Anything I do, she would just want more. Like "why couldn't you pick a better restaurant?", "why didn't you buy me any gifts? (this one irked me). She would never be grateful for anything I did too. If I got a gift, she would be like "I don't need stuff". We have had a couple of conflicts, and when I set my boundaries, she responds that I have "male privilege", makes me the villain and shuts down communication (even in-person). And if she acknowledges it, she brings it back up on text later. One of the arguments was about money, she says if we are to be in a relationship, she expects me to pay more than her for most things. She says "If you are more generous, then I can be more generous in other ways." I was like this is fucking weird to verbalise, firstly. And second, I'm already paying for all our dates. It was like telling someone vegan to not eat beef.
She still hasn't given any clarity on us, and I don't bother bringing it up yet. She has a trip to China for 3 weeks to stay with her parents, and I figured lets see how she acts after shes back. One of our final dates before her trip, we had a camping trip and although this was a very peaceful experience, she just casually dropped that she is bisexual. When I was like wtf, she goes "Did I not tell you that before? Maybe you didn't need to know." I reflected on this and how in the past she said "she is dating me exclusively now, and stopped seeing other guys". I'm like fuck, there is no way for me to trust anything she says now. Because, in our past conversations, she said some stuff that made me think "huh that's a weird friendship.". She also mentioned going to the nudist beach with her friend.
Her trip happens. I drop her at the airport, we communicate sparsely throughout. 3 weeks later, i pick her up from the airport. She doesn't thank me or anything, just says "This is so surreal. Why am I being picked up by a guy I met on a dating app.". Already this annoyed me (first strike), she knew I was coming to the airport beforehand. Then for someone that was whining about receiving gifts, she didn't get me shit her trip. Not even a fuckin chocolate. She says "I am your gift." (Second strike). We have sex, then have a long conversation, where she says "let's not bring our parents into our relationship, they don't need to know". (Third strike) Family is an important element for me. They don't need to be involved, but theu don't need to be disrespected either. End of the day, Australia is my home, this is just an escape for her. I ask her "So what is this relationship then?", she is very hesitant and tries to avoid the question. She starts talking about arranged marriages in China and the boxes that need to be checked, I'm like I don't care about no boxes. She responds it's because of my "male privilege" and I "won't understand because I'm not rich". Both of these angered me as they don't encourage open communication (and the latter statement about not being rich is just insulting). I get angry, and I go to the bathroom to calm myself down. When I come back, she brings up relationship again, and hesitantly says okay to be official. I say fine, let's talk about it next time.
The next day she messages me, bringing back the topic about male privilege, and she needs to be with someone understanding etc. I get tired of this and I break up with her. She kind of just went along with the break up really, didnt even try to talk it through. Honestly, how she was at the start was so different with how she was by the end. The only thing that was good in the end was the sex. If she just wanted casual fun, then she could have just said so 6 weeks in. There was no need for all the other drama.
One of the other key things she said on that last day was about her previous relationship of 2 years. The guy was kind and giving to her for 2 years, she broke up with him because she "didn't like him anymore". This could easily be me 2 years later.
This post is already really long, and there were so many other things that were red flags that came up on the last day. I do miss her, but mostly I miss the intimacy and sex.

 | This is my first ever tattoo, I got it done a few months ago and I just got it touched up yesterday. Obviously it’s not terrible, the fact that the top right sparkle is slightly off centred really irks me, and also just how wobbly all of the sparkles are. I just wish I didn’t get them at all and just had the cherries as they are. Funny thing is when I first got it done I was the exact same nitpicking every single detail and after a few months I actually grew to love it, it’s just now it’s been touched up I’m going through the stage of hating it again. I’m also kind of concerned about how it’s going to look in a few years just because of how dainty the lines are. Are the sparkles as bad as I think they are? Is it a shitty tattoo? Hey there, Dw this isn't a rant post (for now atleast)
I am a working professional that has entered market in 2025 jan to be precise .
I would be typing down things I have f*cred up things that I learnt and every bit of suggestions that I've got and will get going ahead . May we all grow in this journey.
I started investing w one lakh rupees, didn't know where to start how to start. I got an indo farm ipo alloted in my first go (beginers luck maybe?), and had a few friends suggestion for stocks :
I brought 4 stocks w out any analysis whatsoever, Zero analysis , nil nada, I saw the stock was going up saw moving avg for 6m 3m and invested money into it .
1st week was amazing portfolio up by 20% felt like a king didn't cash out coz I was greedy wanted to hold on to it more.
Then the blood bath started , all stocks going down , I still didn't sell wanted too see what's up, stocks started tanking lower circuit week over week and what not . In the end it's red , but it's alright ig?
This is what I've learnt :
-Id rather have the regret of selling at a decent percentage than being mlre greedy saying upar jaega
-For love of God do my research , understand basics and don't follow the herd
-Read read and read w patience
-Don't follow any recommendations untill your analysis backs it up
-Don't be greedy(?)
Things I am going do to in the next week:
-Understand Fundametala of market, what moves the market how it moves on major news
- Get into tech analysis and see how it deems fit
Ig this is it for now.
Any help any suggestions are very welcomed . Criticism are also welcomed ☺️ I am gonna do Rnd and post my findings of my stocks analysis in the coming weeks and will love yall suggestions to improve.

After almost twelve years of flawless service, I reluctantly retired my AirPort Extreme and airport express and replaced them with a TP Link ER 707 and Deco mesh units to go to 2.5Gb. I have had more issues with the wifi in the past year than I had in twelve years with the Apple units. I wish Apple would come up with a their own Firewall device and AP's ( A la Firewalla), I have had every Mac since the original McIntosh and we have three in the house now. Nobody makes stuff which is as user friendly and intuitive as Apple. You also get the awesome looks and design with apple also. If Apple announced networking gear, I would buy it in a minute. Please add your voices to tis post if you agree.
