Hi, myself (29) and partner (31) are looking to invest for the long term, after years focussed on getting on the ladder.
We have a larger lump sum we're keen to put away for 8-10 years minimum (realistically longer, but hard to say definitely). Would then look to put away around £1k p/m on a rolling basis.
We're new to investing and understand enough around wanting to invest in a range of index funds that offer diversification.
Based on own research, this is our thinking - would welcome thoughts on what does / doesn't work here and if we need to rethink.
Appreciate any advice, this feels like a huge deal for us so any thoughts are hugely welcomed.
We're also trying to understand the best platforms to use if any ideas.
70% in Global Equity Index Funds: - (30%) Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (VWRL) - (20%) iShares MSCI World ETF (IWRD) - (20%)Fidelity Index World Fund
20% in U.S. Equity Index Fund: - Vanguard S&P 500 UCITS ETF (VUSA)
10% Emerging Markets Index Funds: - iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (IEMG)
Reason: long term nest egg, early retirement Risk profile: We'd probably classify as medium risk. But wkukd ideally spread a l little - i.e. 15-20% in lower risk and 10% in higher.
Selection was based on an attempt to be diversified, while covering global and leaning ever so slightly into US markets.

He said it was the app trying to get him to pay to keep the phone number which i know is a thing but there was no automated call or anything. He recently cheated but says he doesnt talk to her anymore but it seems like hes lying about the call today. Has anyone gotten a call with no response from the app? I asked if this is a girl can she just tell me and still no response. No girl code there apparently. Ive been torn on leaving and staying for multiple reasons but if it only took a couple weeks for him to be back to being secretive, that would make my decision heck of a lot easier.

I tried Deepseek R1 Qwen Distills 32B, 14B, 8B (llama), 7B, and 1.5B. Anything below 14B is sort of dumb with 14B being very good. I don't know if anyone has a similar experience but looking at benchmarks (Oobabooga and Open-llm leaderboard as examples) it seems that there's a severe loss of intelligence/reasoning below 14b.
Now there's no denying how amazing Deepseek R1 is and The qwen 32b distill is honestly one of the best models I have used but it's also worth pointing out that the smaller models don't perform so well. This is just my experience trying the smaller models and it's obviously subjective. If anyone wants to share their experience that would be great too. Maybe I'm missing something :)

dropped a pair of boots off at usps bc the line was insane and there was one teller )ik ik always have them scan and get a receipt). messaged the buyer for four weeks being so kind before she finally responded bc i’ve had it happen where tracking doesn’t update but the item gets delivered . by the time she did respond it had been so long that usps was like …why didn’t you contact us sooner we rlly can’t do much atp. so a case gets opened, there’s no way for me to upload my communications with usps or rlly do anything in the resolution centre at will and depop says to wait it out (i’ve never had this happen so i didn’t know wtf to do). they force a refund from my account and give me a strike and then on top of it the girl leaves a review saying i harassed her (apparently messaging you asking if you got the product is harassment) and denied her a refund neither of which i did. guarantee the boots are sitting in a warehouse somewhere and will be shipped eventually while im out the money end the shoes. resolution centre sucks, depop support sucks, and now my 100+ five star ratings are a 4,75 bc this girl is a psychopath. sry just a rant but as seller who’s never had any issues i know this will affect my visibility on the app and its so frustrating. is there even anything i can do?

Hi, I’ve been pagan for a bit but very recently started trying to understand deities more, and a minute ago I did the keyboard method with my pendulum, I asked “what’s your name?” And what was typed out eventually ended up being “ares” ( actually “L Ates” but the autocorrect suggestion popped up and the pendulum ended up swinging onto it), after that I got unconventional and I got up an image of a bunch of Greek gods, and it ended up swinging toward the Ares in the image. But, I have shaky hands, so I’m not sure if this was a result of that, and I also did not cleanse the space before I started using the pendulum, I have some knowledge of using divination from practicing wicca for a while, but I’m not sure much about deities and how to know if they’re there, so any help would be appreciated!

This is a very specific question that I hope can be answered here.
I am studying abroad at Yonsei this spring. I've been having issues when it comes to using the Yonsei portal, specifically because my MacBook Pro is updated to MacOS Catalina Version 10.5.7, but I can't update it further. So this means I can't use the latest version of google chrome and I am unable to properly translate pages. While I don't find this a huge obstacle, I'm worried that I'll potentially face more issues if I have to take some online classes depending on what kinds of online programs they use at Yonsei. At the same time, I don't want to buy a new laptop if I don't need to, you know? Just curious to see what others have noticed in regards to online programs used at Yonsei so I can plan accordingly. So this is a pic of our front walkway as the weather is warming gradually after a snowfall. The question is, what is causing the pattern?. One person said the concrete has a higher temperature than brick because of the difference in thermal conduction. Another person said there is no temperature difference and the pattern is caused by the mortar holding on to more salt than bricks. Which do you think is right? Or is there a different explanation all together?
