Just wanted to share this anecdote about visiting the movie theater the other night. Compared to many here, I'd say I've made a minimal effort to protect my personal privacy. Whatever the implications for privacy are, I think it's fascinating that in 2025 a trip to the movies can entail:
- My search history for movies and showtimes is collected;
- My phone's general location on the way to and at the movie theater is collected;
- Numerous consumer security cameras and public surveillance systems may have documented my trip as well; If I had a newer car, much more data could be collected;
- A Lowes hardware store parking lot I passed through on the way to the theater likely logged my license plate, potentially sharing it (aggregated) with state and federal law enforcement databases; Other companies may do this, as well as law enforcement.
- My debit card transactions for the tickets and popcorn are collected;
- The touchscreen watesoda machine in the theater has a camera on the front, watching while I dispense water into my free tiny paper cup; Coca-Cola says this is to capture users' facial expressions while mixing various kinds of drinks, and for future capabilities for motion sense and facial recognition;
- The theater has a fairly high-res camera system ostensibly to watch audiences for rule breaking; some theaters are rolling out biometric AI in theaters to measure audience reactions;
- The blaring corporate commercials we're now subjected to before previews are advertising an app you can download to game-ify your moviegoing experience;
- Before the previews start, a PSA is played warning viewers to watch for and report suspicious behavior by other patrons in the theater.

Our 2nd edition game came with 24 investigator cards. But only 8 figures. Also, we can only select those 8 figures in the app.
What the deal?
My understanding is the additional investigators are from 1st edition and can be converted?
Can I use these other investigators as is? For exame if I select Rita Young in the app, but play with Ashcan Pete.
Is there any mechanical issue? Are the numbers/stats balanced for gameplay?

Hi. I simply need a 14-15" light laptop for travelling. Most important, I also want to use regularly this computer to play HDR movies with Dolby Vision on an external 4K TV (laptop closed, no dual screen, VLC player).
Is anybody successful doing that? I'm asking specifically for Dell since I live in Japan but that's the only PC company with an option for a US layout keyboard.
