Wondering if there are any CC folks in Japan, especially in Tokyo?
For those who may not be aware, COVID is still a big problem, and there is luckily a solid CC community in America and some other countries. But I have yet to find many CC folks in Japan, perhaps because it’s not quite as bad here. Although interestingly I have seen a good amount of Long COVID research come out of Japan.
Yes masks are normalized here, but Japanese people largely don’t seem to differentiate between lower and higher quality masks, which offer very different protection. Also, with so much tourism from all over, there is constantly more COVID being brought to crowded places like Tokyo.
I’m just wondering if there are any other folks like me still taking precautions in Tokyo 🥲 Or anywhere else in Japan! If you are in Japan and CC, OR are willing/curious to learn more, please comment below ❤️

I started as a PE analyst this past summer straight out of undergrad so I’ve been working for about 7 months now. I would like to change firms for many reasons. When is the best time for me to apply for positions at other firms? Currently, I'm contemplating on whether to get the 2024 g14 with a 4070 and 32 GB of RAM or get the 2025 g14 with a 5070 only and 32 GB of RAM but I don't know whether to wait for it because I kind of want a laptop right now but also I want the best price which I know that the 2024 model price would drop if the 2025 release, but I heard it somewhere around march-june which is months from now.

i can't stop thinking about and having dreams about my ex best friend. they're such disheartening and bittersweet dreams, they always go so stupidly sappy-happy and what if we could have it better and stuff and then i wake up and feel sad and worthless. sometimes we just hug for the entirety of the dream we've been friends for years and it's been escalating badly. i've always been passive, depressive and scared (and it's worse now) and it hurt him so he hurt me back. i feel like shit for saying it but it was such long, draining emotional abuse. i cried nearly every day. it was just a matter of time before it ended; we've been bad to each other and are better off, atleast i hope he is. it's obvious he cared about me and i very much cared back but god it's so unquestionable now how he affected me. and honestly it's just surprising someone could tolerate me for this long, but maybe we were just desperate. i dread hearing from him - i'm not even sure why - i'm just sure i'll have a breakdown or a panic attack, i'm so scared i'm realizing no one will care about me like he did and i'll never be content. now i keep considering about quitting my other two friendships because i deserve no satisfaction of connection and i am bad for everyone. i'm barely maintaining them anyway. i would go fully into art but that is dying, too
i'm giving up on everything
