One of my fav parts of one piece is the reactions that the crew and the world have to the absurdity of Monkey D. Luffy. As you can tell, some of my favorite scenes are Ivankov reacting to the news that Dragon is Luffy's dad, the world reacting to Dragon being Luffy's dad, his crew reacting to the Dragon reveal, etc.
So, in this vein, is the relationship between Shanks and Luffy widely known? Does his crew know of the relationship/realize how crazy it is in context of the rest of the world and the politics of the four emperors? Can't remember if there are any scenes referring to this in the manga

Meanwhile, the religious leaders are desperately seeking validation for their crumbling universes, like ants raiding a picnic table, only to be swatted away by the police and their yellow tape flyswat
I can’t help but wonder: what’s inside that goddamn cave? The ship must be a horrifying sight—a massive wooden vessel, aged for centuries, packed to the brim with the remains of every animal that ever existed.
My God, what will this lead to? Will it reignite the inquisition, or will the sight of that rotting ship and the clean bones of what once was finally bring an end to this endless madness and delusion?
The spectacle now intensifies. The leaders in their absurd, ornate robes—each more bizarre than the next-are chanting, while the crowd wails louder than North Koreans mourning Kim Jong-il.
Imagine all this hysteria over a ship and a God who’s been dead since long before Nietzsche’s declaration.
I need an escape from this reality—it’s too fucked up for me. So, I take an enormous hit of PCP and find myself face-to-face with God. Together, we look down at the chaos below and laugh.
“What fucking morons,” He says. “But I love them. They will learn, or they will perish—it doesn’t really matter. I created them, and I can create whatever I want.”
I stare at Him in awe, take another hit of PCP, and black out in my motel room.
Out there, the news story continues—a fucking boat in a fucking cave. That’s it.

2025.01.23 03:30 gloomy_gumball I ended things with a very good friend of 7 years on bad terms and I'm missing her now
We met when we were 18 and now we're both 24. She was a very good friend. Let's call her K. We went to bookfairs together, painted together, talked a lot. She knew everything about me more than anyone else. I told her about my traumas and my insecurities. I have had other friends and i do talk to them from time to time, but she was a better friend.
Things started to change when i got a job after college and K went ahead to pursue masters. Ironically she is still preparing for the govt job that I got into at 21. I made sure to take out the time to go meet her whenever i could and she started behaving differently. She would try to make me jealous about the new friends she had made while studying in the library and on some days she would tell me how her life sucks. Adjusting in a rigid job environment wasn't easy for me at 21 either, but whenever I talked to her about my problems, she would get bored and would often reply with a "atleast you have a job".
I decided not to bother her with my life problems anymore because i assumed her problems were bigger. I reconnected with another friend who listened to me and could be there for me. But K didn't approve of her. The three of us were in college together and both of them weren't on good terms. K and I started having fights and she would get jealous if the other girl called or texted me when i was with her. She would often ask me to not talk to her because she didn't like her.
Things got worse a few days back when i went out with this other girl and K saw the stories on her instagram. She fought with me saying i was hiding things from her and it was upsetting her. There were a lot of arguments and she finally asked me to choose. "Leave her or I will leave" she said. I was taken aback. I tried to reason with her. I made her understand that we weren't kids anymore and we barely meet 7-8 times a year let's not make this a big issue. But she was dramatic about it without any explanation and after arguing with her for 2 days, we decided it wasn't going anywhere and broke it off.
It seems like she's deleted my number or has blocked me. I haven't tried contacting her either. Its been a week. But there's not a single day I don't think about her. Whenever she gets into a fight its always me trying to make amends and go back to her for reconciliation. If I don't, we never speak and I'm pretty sure that's how its gonna be like this time. But I'm very very tired. I want things to be better but its too much for me at the same time. Do u guys get it? Or am i going insane? Help me!!!

Hi, Everyone.
I don’t want to come across in any negative way, as I don’t know much about tourette’s, but I was just wondering if anyone can tell me a little bit more about this potential situation
I’m 24 and I was diagnosed with OCD a few years ago and have gained a lot of control over it, but of course I still have OCD attacks time to time where I get bad anxiety and rushing thoughts but I’m able to control and ease them with things I learned in cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure response prevention therapy
I was reading about tourette’s today, and while I knew generally what it was I dove a bit deeper today and am now worried I have it. For quite a few years I’ve had some, I guess now I know what to label them, tics. They’re mainly rubbing and picking my fingers without really thinking about it (which I’ve done for a while) and clicking my jaw throughout the day, and sometimes just other light urges
It mainly feels like I can’t keep still when I consciously try not to do them. However, I do find when I’m busy they don’t really happen and I guess there’s always some sort of consciousness to it in a way
I’m having a very bad OCD episode right now and the tics have increased today, and I’m doing lots of twitching I’ve never done before. I’ve calmed myself down a bit but I just wanted to see what people who know more about this think. Are these just little habits I’ve built up and is my OCD freaking me out, or does this sound like tourette’s?
Any response is appreciated
