I really didn't want this to be my first post here - I first wanted to finish the piece I am currently working on, but it seems like I won't sleep until I spill it out.
TL;DR: I put a ton of effort, I don't want it to be a complete waste.
I started music education when I was 6 and composed my first, extremely simple guitar piece when I was 9. Some time afterwards I would switch to a shrunken symphonic-like orchestra and stay there basically until today. Since early 2020 (age 12) I've composing on a quite regular basis, and the oldest pieces I am happy about to this day come from early 2023 - around the release of MuseScore 4. During all that time, the orchestra gradually grew until it became near-full symphonic orchestra.
Now I'm 17 and on top of the last year of high-school I do both the second-to-last AND the last year of afternoon music school all at once, all to finish everything in time before college.
I managed to have 3 live performances already, which might be impressive given my age and the ensemble I'm writing for. People around me, both musicians and non-musicians, both my friends and people I've never met, compliment me very often, in fact so often that I struggle to get any criticism or areas for improvement, which is also quite annoying in it's own sense. But it all still doesn't matter if the industry requires extreme amount of luck to get in.
And I said all of this to show how much effort I have for my musical progress, especially last year, which has been not only physical, but sometimes also psychical struggle. And I really don't want it all to just become wasted.
And I don't need much - I just want to have even a small group of people who will stay interested in my works, and I just want to be able to hear my music live from time to time.
And usually you end such posts with a question, but I don't really know what question to ask. I know that the odds are low (or are they?), but I also know I have my whole life in front of me and it might be still too early to give any verdict. For now, I can just ask - am I pessimistic or realistic?
And thanks in advance to all the people who read this whole rant, I'm sure you know stuff better than me. I'll also probably post some of my works soon in a desperate attempt to get some criticism.

Like many of you here, I’ve been suffering from recurrent canker sores for almost five years. The u,cars seemed to start out of nowhere, with no specific trigger. For five years, I’ve had at least one canker sore nearly every day, and frequently three or four sores at the same time, often very large or in clusters. From late 2019 to today, it has been rare for me to have a day without a sore. I’ve tried different mouthwashes and vitamins, no improvement. I saw a dentist and they ended up referring me to ENT. I had a sore swabbed to confirm it wasn’t something more serious, which it wasn’t. They gave me some topical treatments, but nothing to help long-term.
A few months ago, I was having a bad breakout, and was desperate. I made an appointment via One Medical with an NP to see if I could get a blood test to rule out any underlying issues. I explained the issue — the severity, the seeming lack of trigger, the fact that it had sprang up out of nowhere and has been consistent since then for years — and she dismissed me. First, she said this was herpes. I clarified multiple times that it was canker sores, not cold sores, and she insisted (to the point of rudeness) that canker sores are also caused by the herpes virus, which I’ve not seen substantiated anywhere online or via any of my other providers. She also said it was because I was eating too much crusty food, and to stop eating crusty bread and tortilla chips. What the actual fuck. Two to three sores a day, every day, for five years, is not from crusty bread (which, btw, I rarely eat!!). She said a blood test was unnecessary because it was an external cause. I’ve been simmering on this for a while, but for some reason today it’s really bugging me that, even though I tried to advocate, I as dismissed, and I wish I had pushed harder.
All that said…
I’m curious, has anyone in this group actually gotten bloodwork or other testing done and had your doctor attribute canker sores to a specific cause, like an autoimmune disorder or a vitamin deficiency? I’d love to see a different provider and have some options to ask them about as as for what they can test me for.
I had a short period of relief recently after trying an ointment I found on Amazon (which I do recommend — Canker Rid on Amazon, https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=amazon%20canker%20rid&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5), then things started up again. So I’m trying an all out attack, including:
- Daily prenatal vitamin (I’m not pregnant or trying to be, but my dietician said this can help to fill some gaps for women, especially if they are trying to lose weight, which I am)
- sulfate free toothpaste
- hydrogen peroxide rinse 2x daily
- propolis supplement (anyone have any luck with this?)
- lysine supplement (500mg)
- canker-rid for active sores

Swapping my JBL 590s for bookshelves and get some space back in the living room. I have a HSU sub that handles the bass more than adequately. Highly considering Sourcepoint 8s and comparing them with KEF R3 Metas. Currently Sourcepoints + speaker stands come down to $2400 total while KEFs (+stands) are at $2900. Has anyone listened to both and have any impressions to share. I watched the comparison video on Erin's audio corner and was able to learn more about how they sound but the sourcepoints are impossible to demo in person. Appreciate any help here especially if the KEFs are worth $500 more.

Long story short: I saw some tops in a Sims video that I liked and I've been running around in circles trying to find where they came from.
They're both short sleeved or maybe rolled because I only got a glimpse (why I couldn't pull a screenshot) and they both came in green.
One looked like a normal T-shirt but where the body was a lighter green and the sleeves were a darker green.
The other was all light/faded green and had a stretched out, relaxed collar.
Sadly, my screen was too small to read the pack symbols and, again, the glimpse at the swatches were very brief.
I color code my Sims and these shirts are a perfect fit for a male Sim that I've made. Just hoping someone here can help me find them since I've had no luck prowling the internet. They were in-game and not CC, I was able to tell.

2025.01.23 04:01 2413674 I can't even do a half flip 😅
So I'm almost 2 weeks into skating and I'm able to ollie at a beginner level (Wheels all off the ground but looks goofy), tictac semi well and can cruise pretty comfortably with the board.
I want to learn tricks but even starting with a half flip I can only land them 2/10 times. And that's on GRASS! On concrete I'd kms if I fell like I do on the grass. I know it's all about practise practise practise but hell am I just naturally awful?
Mainly here to either hear other's struggles or to confirm I am just really bad 😂 Thanks everybody, I'll keep at it but man it's disheartening to struggle so much on a trick that I see everybody do so effortlessly even first try for some.
