2025.01.23 03:59 HypoNerves Trouble Swallowing?
I’ve been dealing with a swallowing, or I guess, initiating a swallow issue for a couple of months now and wanted to see if anyone else has gone through something similar or has advice.
Suddenly in November while eating steak at dinner, it triggered my gag reflex as it went into my throat. Thought nothing of it at the time. Then the next day I noticed I couldn't eat any solids at all.
Anytime I tried swallowing to send the food into my throat, I would gag and have to spit it out. For about 2 weeks I had to swallow all my foods with water, like taking a pill.
My PCP put me on Omeprazole 20mg daily. After about 2 weeks, I was able to start swallowing soft foods again. However, this was back in November. Its now been 2 months, and it has not improved further.
I'm no longer gagging, but I outright can't tell when food is ready to swallow. It feels like perpetually chewing gum. The reflex to swallow the food never comes. Meanwhile, I got sick in early December with a cold and sore throat. Since then, the sore throat has never gone away.
I saw an ENT this January who performed a laryngoscopy and found swelling and acid damage near my vocal cords, with a small scab where my sore throat feeling is.
Per the ENT, I'm now taking 20mg in the morning, and 20mg at night for the past week. No change in symptoms so far, anything fatty like beef is impossible for me to tell when its ready to swallow now.
Softer foods that turn to mush—like tofu, oatmeal, or scrambled eggs I can swallow in small amounts with no problem. I'm having trouble telling if the swallowing issue is more mental or physical.
Has anyone had a similar experience, and been able to resolve it? I haven't been able to enjoy a meal fully in months.

First time I made the cyclops and drove it I was like this thing seriously? But it has come to grow on me. I never made a "true" first base. It was a room with solar panels and badly placed lockers and scattered materials. Spent time enjoying the game making so many trips back and forth to the "storage Unit". I found the entrance to the LR on both sides found the "TREE" which I had seen so many times in other peoples vids and pictures and had the plan to make a base there(Will post pics eventually not a conventional base for subnautica hahaha). Ive gotten around to getting mods and autosort specifically working after many tries and now I live out of my Cyclops lol. Drive it everywhere with my prawn accompanying me. Dont like the idea of a typical base honestly like exploring too much and have killed a few reapers to stop annoying me lol. Now mind you I am on a freedom play because I couldnt be bothered with food and water maybe on the next playthrough. Was wondering if there is anyone who feels the same regarding big bertha. Still in the process of decorating the decorations mod lags me up a little so will have to generic for now.

I have read recommendations on Harrisons and Roudybush. Are these really the same quality overall? Which do you guys feed?
And then, not to sound like a complete novice but which TYPE and SIZE do you feed, if you do. There are different sizes and also Harrisons has a normal vs a high potency version so I am a bit confused. Thank you!

Currently I've been looking around at housing and come across a few comments from people about living around lake Tuggeranong, particularly the Bunnings end. I've had 3 different unrelated people say that place always has a sewage smell and you can't have windows open. I want to hear from actual people who live down that way, and see if it's true.
I've smelt the odd algae smells around lakes and thats normal, that's not all the time.
..so does the lake stink like 💩?
